Summarizing the bottom of page 17.HB records ridiculous vertical leap, finalizing his position as the number 2 pick. As if it wasn't going to happen anyway.Cats down to Sloan, Shaw, and Synder. In all seriousness, why haven't we introduced Sloan already? It is a no brainer for a franchise in such a shitty state of existence.]
6/12/2012 12:30:28 PM
Barnes didn't just kill it on the vertical, he had the fastest sprint time of anyone at the combine (Thomas Robinson was 2nd, MKG was 3rd). Really didn't see that coming.
6/12/2012 12:51:30 PM
so Harrison Barnes is the Dontari Poe of combine workoutsfuck it, draft Barnes, hire Snyder, and take James Michael McAdoo with the #2 overall pick next year[Edited on June 12, 2012 at 12:52 PM. Reason : .]
6/12/2012 12:51:59 PM
My Cats marketing idea. Ditch the orange jerseys. Rotate a NC based college team color each night. UNC/Duke colors for must win/big games. State/Davidson red, Wake black and gold, etc...
6/12/2012 1:12:15 PM
Considering snyder was homeless and living out of his car in Wilmington like 3-4 years ago, I'm sure he's willing to coach for the $250k we are offering
6/12/2012 3:18:13 PM
Yep, I'm officially scared the Bobcats are looking at Barnes at #2. I'd be fine picking Barnes 5-7, but he just doesn't seem to have the ball-handling to be anything more than a really good spot-up shooter. The more I think about it, the more I'd take Rudy Gay for the #2 pick if it meant we wouldn't draft Barnes.
6/13/2012 11:55:48 AM
I like Sloan. He is enthusiastic.
6/13/2012 2:06:35 PM
I'd love to see the Bobcats be made up of nothing but a bunch of ex-UNC players. It would make news like the Bobcats being the worst team in history something to celebrate.
6/13/2012 2:20:01 PM
Put our games on Versus, right after minor league Duck, Duck, Goose

6/13/2012 10:28:12 PM
who do we draft at 18, Henson?

6/14/2012 11:04:19 AM
I liked Derrick Williams last year. He was a bit inconsistent, but it was hard to develop a rhythm with his playing time. He would get a starter's minutes one game, then get 5 minutes the next. He split a lot of time with Beasley. He had some monster games and showed the ability to knock down the three as well. It's a risky trade, but I'm not against it.
6/14/2012 11:19:37 AM
Since when does this guy have a vested interest in the Bobcats? Also, not a fan. 18th picks rarely pan out. I like several guys this year over Derrick Williams and his jacked up teeth.

No surprise but...Bobcats looking at Barnes for #2 pick. lolhttp://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/19351971And this article saying the Bobcats are looking to deal the pick for possbily James Harden.http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/19352135/charlotte-looking-to-deal-no-2-pick
6/14/2012 1:36:03 PM
If we got harden for the #2 it would be an absolute coup. Guaranteed stud below 25 yrs old for a prospect???It does make sense from the thunders standpoint though if they cant resign both ibaka and harden then keep the big man because they already have a good SG in sefolosha, and Westbrook can do many of the things harden does. Praying for this to happen but its Jordan so more than likely we will get an over priced veteran and some cap fodder instead.
6/14/2012 2:57:42 PM
You guys think Harden would be willing to sign an extension to play for the knobcats though?
6/14/2012 2:59:44 PM
I mean charlotte is a better place to be for a young millionaire than okc I would think.I don't see him taking a hometown discount just to be a 6th man. And there are only so many teams who have the right assets to deal for harden. The thunder need someone good but he has to be cheap. A top 3 draft pick can be a good solution.
6/14/2012 3:31:32 PM
i would love for that trade to happen. that would be huge. i'm not gonna get my hopes up though.
6/14/2012 3:36:11 PM
James you've just been traded to the Bobca-
6/14/2012 3:40:25 PM
Holy shit, I would do that trade in a heatbeat. Harden is one of those guys that makes everyone else better and can get to the rim anytime he wants. Plus he has baby birds living in his beard.I'd take Derrick Williams and #18 for #2 also, but only if the Harden deal fell through.
6/14/2012 4:33:31 PM
Harden wins a title this year, Bobcats trade the #2 pick for him, then at the end of next year, when his contract is up, he takes his talents to Boston
6/14/2012 5:26:36 PM
Yep, sounds about right.
6/14/2012 6:05:08 PM
6/14/2012 6:17:14 PM
if i'm harden i'm gladly giving okc a discount to keep that team together rather than be the only nba player in the city of charlotte.unless okc is just a terrible, terrible place to live.
6/14/2012 6:21:00 PM
or you like missing out on millions of dollars. (I do admit the Bobcats situation would make me think twice)]
6/14/2012 6:22:38 PM
i get that... i just have a hard time thinking that playing for that bobcats team is anything less than absolute torture.i tell my agent that i have a sweet beard and would rather sell tacos on tv than play in charlotte.
6/14/2012 6:26:39 PM
agents make a percentage of your salaryi'm sure he'll have no problem with it!
6/14/2012 6:43:07 PM
does james harden care what his agent wants him to do? unlikely.
6/14/2012 7:19:00 PM
not directly, but i'm sure both of them would each want the most money possible, as well as being a starter
6/14/2012 7:21:13 PM
The main point should be that this particular trade scenario is a wet dream that isn't happening.
6/14/2012 7:45:56 PM
Well looks like it is down to Shaw and Snyder.....Sloan is out.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/basketball/nba/06/14/jerry.sloan.bobcats/index.html?sct=hp_t2_a3&eref=sihp

On the surface, sure, it seems . But think about it from OKC's perspective. Harden is cheap now, as all rookies are, but next offseason he's going to be in line to make Joe Johnson money. With their two stars locked up and some rather expensive pieces, they're not going to be able to pay Harden and Ibaka. Unless their name is Hasheem Thabeet, number two picks generally provide more value than what they're paid. They could pick anyone in the country except Anthony Davis and pay him 5-6-7 mil the next three seasons. He won't be Harden, but he doesn't have to be. Bradley Beal could fill his shoes just fine. So could Jeremy Lamb or even Austin Rivers. At roughly a third of the cost. Ibaka, they have to keep; elite shot blockers are the rarest commodity in the game. He won't get the max, but close enough. Harden's as good as gone by 2014 at the latest; may as well flip him now and get .80 cents on the dollar. As for us? Shit. What's not to like? We get a legit star who's still 22, and have two seasons to convince him to sign long term. This will be the player closest in ability to himself on any team that Jordan ever ran, so if he can't make on an impression on him, he might as well sell the team to Felix Fucking Sabates. Give him the max. He won't even turn 30 for the entire duration of the deal.
