I CANNO REALLY SEE WHEN JEREMY CRYBECAUSE I HAVE MY FOUR STANLEY CUP RINGPLUG IN MY EYEAlso, I left for work after the second. Holy shit that CWG was weak. Leighton will be shipped off again for sure. ]

6/10/2010 7:59:36 AM
what a terrible GWG, but good for the hawks. Leighton is a choke job. and my love for Patty Kane went back up again after Pierre McGuire's faggoty ass told him to behave himself and Kane said "not a chance, Not. A. Chance."

CBC is great at all things hockey coverage, but I always really love the playoff wrap-up montages that they do every year:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7dFTK31VSk&feature=player_embedded
6/10/2010 12:19:34 PM

Meant to post this. Couldn't edit.
6/11/2010 11:46:04 PM
pronger's a douche, but he won that little battle. a healthy scratch acting all tuff, come on.
6/12/2010 9:41:05 AM
Halak to STL. lol
6/17/2010 3:31:42 PM
Because the one thing Carey Price needs is more pressure.
6/17/2010 7:14:05 PM
Well that's a smart move... trading away your emerging star goaltender who took out the reigning stanley cup champion penguins and the president trophy winner capitals practically by himself....Good decision.

They have Sanford and Desjardins as solid options up from Hamilton. Sanford has been an NHL backup before and Desjardins went 29-9-4 in the AHL this year. While there will be more external pressure on Price this season, the organization is showing faith in him, and uncertainty about status has often exacerbated his uneven play.Don't forget that Price was often the best goalie in the league in '07/08. He needs to regain form, but he has all the talent he needs to be an outstanding #1 in Montreal. And also, before we go anointing Halak because he won two playoff series behind an eight seed, let's not forget that a seven seed rode a combination of Brian fucking Boucher and Michael fucking Leighton to the Finals. ]
6/17/2010 9:50:08 PM
yes... price was a good goalie 3 years ago in his rookie year. However, the past two seasons he's been less then spectacular... and has been very immature at times(granted he's only 22). Sure Halak isn't a god yet... but he was the reason the Canadians beat both the Caps and Penguins... there was certainly a major difference between his performance and the Philly netminders.Anyways... I just don't believe in trading Halak for 2 unproven prospects and having to rely on Price.
6/17/2010 10:50:14 PM
So have the NHL talking heads started fawning over St. Louis yet?
6/18/2010 2:48:31 AM
Halak was 26 - 12 this season, while price was 15 - 20This deal sounds like something the Maple leafs would have done.
6/18/2010 7:17:16 AM
Steve Penney had better numbers than Patrick Roy in their rookie years, and Doug Soetaert had better numbers than Roy in '85-86.Numbers don't tell the whole story. ]
6/18/2010 8:02:12 AM
Price has had three seasons to prove his "pedigree", he has failed in every possible way.
6/18/2010 8:11:08 AM
He's 22 goddamn years old in the highest pressure job in all of hockey. He's had two winning seasons out of three and his SV%/GAA numbers are in line with goaltenders his age. If that's failing in every possible way, I think most teams would take failures in net if offered. ]
6/18/2010 8:25:00 AM
Hes 24 and has had three seasons. Two out of the three training camps, he showed up out of shape and overweight. Now they are tossing him the keys to the bus - just based on his draft position.
6/18/2010 8:48:56 AM
I have no idea why you think he's 24; he'll turn 23 on August 16th.He's had one losing season out of three.I agree that he's played nowhere near his potential over the past eighteen months, but Halak is going to get a payday and there's no guarantee with him, either. This could go like Roy/Penney, or like Rask/Pogge or Toskala/Kiprusoff. ]
6/18/2010 8:56:53 AM
Just in case you can't do the math in your head, TSN even lists his age. Price is 22.http://tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=4960

You almost have 5k posts, you should know better than to argue with vinylbandit over goalies.[Edited on June 18, 2010 at 9:51 AM. Reason : double post]

Flyers get Dan Hamhuis today for Ryan Parent. If they get Coburn signed, that's going to be a real deep blue line they'll have with Pronger, Carle, Timonen, and Coburn.
6/19/2010 6:04:16 PM
Hamhuis for Parent?UPGRADE.
6/19/2010 6:18:28 PM
Arney back with the Devils! (Not sure if this goes here but I don't think we have an off season thread yet)
6/19/2010 9:14:58 PM
