david villa to madrid for 37 mil euros? looking likely as valencia need the money and madrid are willing to support any team in europe now...and as for madrid and how they get their money, i found this:"Real Madrid get their money from an annual TV rights deal worth £153m annually. Barcelona has the same income stream. Which explains how the two Spanish clubs can afford to buy players at ridiculous amount of money.English club negotiate TV rights as a group and the revenue is shared amongst the 20 teams. Man U got £42m, Chelsea £41m, Liverpool £40, and Arsenal £39m last season."sickening...just tv rights alone are gonna pay the way for a new galacticos team[Edited on June 9, 2009 at 6:25 PM. what about GalatasaREAL?and don't forget uREALwa Red Diamondsanyway it looks like Setanta sports is teetering on the edge of going into administration - they owe the SPL 3 million pounds, and the EPL 30 million. If they go under, they're estimated to take a third of the SPL with them. Some of those clubs get up to 30% of their revenue from the setanta payouts. It's being speculated that ESPN may pick up their rights to the 40 some odd EPL games they're supposed to show next season, or even buy Setanta out completely, but no bids or even word from the ESPN camp as of yet.

but what about real atletico madrid and real real betis...i think the team that will most benefit from this, however, is real salt lake madrid

^ I dunno, the stuff in that Chelsea video happens on high school sports teams all the time... I just figured people matured when they became professionals so it's a little surprising

I'm not a proponent of touching other guys' crotches or anything, but America IS pretty damned homophobic and prudish compared to most of the rest of the world

so the rest of the world touching each others penises in public is ok but when i show a clip of it its homophobic?

6/11/2009 8:44:13 AM
wow, surprised they actually offloaded ronaldo...oh well, add man utd to that list that real madrid have decided to fund. Madridchester United, lol...should have enough to buy ribery, keep tevez, and prob buy one other player(if needed) with this money and the other fringe players sold
6/11/2009 9:50:57 AM
ahahhahaha fuck the hell off Ronnieon the other hand, I might not have as much reason to hate United if that jackass is gone[Edited on June 11, 2009 at 10:02 AM. Reason : SEE YA]
6/11/2009 10:00:44 AM
This exit seems to be pretty anti-climactic.I wonder if SAF fought it, or if he said "ah, fuck it, for 80 million I can buy Benzema AND Ribery"EPIC FRENCHREVOLUTION?
6/11/2009 11:33:12 AM
probably the latterBenzema/Ribery would definitely be my picks (although I think it'll be for closer to 100 than 80). Tevez is not worth the price they're asking (actually nobody's worth the asking price in today's transfer market). I wonder if SAF will just go with the two obvious choices or if he'd rather take a chance on somebody like Ashley Young (way overpriced) or Robben (who they could get extremely cheap)Even if they do get Benzema/Ribery, there will be a slight drop-off for United... not out of Top 4 or anything but the race should get extremely closer next year. Unless United just trade Ronaldo to Madrid for Kaka and cash...[Edited on June 11, 2009 at 11:38 AM. Reason : $$$]
6/11/2009 11:36:38 AM
I wonder how much of the 80 mil will go towards their massive debt.Or will they keep racking it up like our gov't does? Well, one less reason for me to hate Man U.

6/11/2009 11:56:49 AM
i cant see united paying an extreme amount for ribery though...madrid and man city are gonna do their best to F the transfer market up this year and for the future...and as for a drop off...you guys act like ribery is a chump compared to ronaldo, lol. i really think united are gonna try and see if they can somehow sign tevez in a similar fashion to a bosman(for free). if they keep tevez they really have no need for benzema. but united need to fill in for ronaldos absence and they will have a lot in the transfer funds...i think they bought ronaldo for 9-12 mil range and sold him for 80...thats a pretty good profit. if the da silva twins keep working their way up to starts, i wouldnt be surprised to see one of them fill in some on the wing.i dont want robben on this team...hes injury proned. ribery is about the only winger i see out there fit for a replacement.jeez...im still trying to wrap my head around how much this is....$130,000,000 just to buy the player and you still have to pay him his wages..."It is now certain that a second era of galacticos has begun at Madird, with news of Ronaldo's £80m deal coming in the same week that Perez agreed a £59m deal ($97m or €69m) to sign Kaka. Which means in less than a week, Madrid have committed to spending an incredible £139m ($228m or €162.9m) on just two players."[Edited on June 11, 2009 at 12:17 PM. Reason : fuckng madrid..]
6/11/2009 12:12:51 PM
He's far from a chump but you can't exactly do a straight swap with Ronaldo and expect everything to be perfectly fineThey need to add somebody that will score 20+ along with Ribery to match what Ronaldo's been giving them the last few seasons
6/11/2009 12:24:48 PM
For some reason I foresee some kind of economic collapse of Real Madrid. This money doesn't seem legit. I think someone's cooking the books.
6/11/2009 12:26:37 PM
if man utd can't get ribery, they should go for ashley young or david silva. I don't think they really need another striker, unless they lose tevez. Even then, they still have macheda and welbeck, who showed they can play.
6/11/2009 12:29:52 PM

First of all, the facts are that Real Madrid is one of the world's most supported clubs. They have one of the best TV deals, they span many markets, and they get tax incentives being a "non-profit" club rather than categorized as a business.

United's midfield is fine.Tosic will move up to the first team squad. Hargreaves will be back, and will be fine. We've still got Possebon, Fletcher, and Gibson, all of whom are fringe but good enough to hold their own when they do play.
6/12/2009 10:35:50 AM
omg"The 24-year-old is expected to sign a six-year contract at the Bernabeu, which means by the final year he would be on £29m-a-year - or £557,000-a-week - which is reportedly 33 times what the average Spaniard earns. And this is in a country which is suffering from high unemployment of over 18%."
