is that a good news spin?lo brown good news?
7/9/2008 2:18:26 AM
oh sorry... that was an "I'm happy about Harrow" spin.

These guards are great, but Favors would be the recruit that would help us most IMO.
7/9/2008 10:19:59 AM
i don't understand how you could say that after watching jj hickson sans-pointguard.
7/9/2008 10:23:46 AM
assuming we have brown locked down, do you really want horner playing PF in 2009? we need big guys.
7/9/2008 11:05:40 AM
firstly, he implied he'd rather get favors than brown. secondly, yes. i'd take guards over bigmen every day of the week.
7/9/2008 11:07:13 AM
7/9/2008 11:09:18 AM
lowes contract not rolling over could hurt long range recruiting.
7/9/2008 11:15:54 AM
would you extend his contract after two seasons in the bottom half of the ACC and one dead last in the conference? I think it's the right choice. His contract is still 5 years (am I right?) so the 2010 recruits would still be playing for him if he fulfills his contract. If we're in the same position in 2010 as we are now, with his players that he recruited for system, then I see no reason why we'd extend it any further.
7/9/2008 11:36:28 AM
7/9/2008 11:40:28 AM
woah, don't put words in my mouth.i do not want to run a 4guard system ever ever again.
7/9/2008 11:49:28 AM
^not putting words in your mouth, just stating my opinion. did we ever run that system before?
7/9/2008 11:56:20 AM
Lowe's contract is a complete non-issue.
7/9/2008 1:45:05 PM
7/9/2008 5:32:19 PM
We'll need at least one big guy in the 09 class. Don't think this will be more than a 3 man class, so Wood + Brown + Favors/Kelly/Other Big Guy.
7/9/2008 6:14:55 PM
We are recruiting 2010 PF C.J. Fair who hails from Baltimore. He plays at Baltimore City College High and for the Baltimore Stars AAU team. Rivals has Fair rated as a 4* prospect, the #8 PF nationally, and the #39 overall prospect. Scout has Fair rated a 4* prospect and the #6 PF nationally.WE WILL SOON HAVE A MONOPOLY ON ALL THE C.J.'S IN COLLEGE BASKETBALL!!!!!!! The C.J. Trifecta will be the Holy Trinity of NC State. They will Resurrect this program and lead us to the Promised Land. Also, T-Ferg might be swallowed by a whale; I'll have to check the Dead Sea Scrolls again.
7/10/2008 7:38:23 PM
That would be hilarious.

Sources say Lo Brown to State is 95% likely, and there's a good shot we're in Favors top 3.
7/12/2008 3:42:45 AM
^Sounds good but I have to ask, what sources?
7/12/2008 7:13:32 AM
7/12/2008 7:44:00 AM
being 95% on brown and in favors' top 3 has been the situation for the last five months.
7/12/2008 8:11:18 AM
It's a shame Wall is being all shady with the clifton boys.Oklahoma State, you kidding me?Spend one year in college, and you're gonna leave your hometown to go play for the megalomaniac donor at OSU? After all the money he threw at Bill Self, I'd love to see what he gives Wall if he commits.:Come on Wall, if you're gonna be a shady bastard, at least be a shady bastard with the Wolfpack I'm sure Wendell could hook you up.

7/12/2008 5:07:59 PM
7/12/2008 5:09:07 PM
oh i'm not complaining, i think we're in a good spot. you're right, we're not losing ground on either of those (much unlike john wall), which is good. just saying it's nothing new.
7/12/2008 6:04:57 PM
Anyone know why we're losing ground with Wall? Is Lowe not recruiting him as much now that we have a 2010 PG committed?
7/12/2008 6:10:02 PM
what they're saying on PP is that those clifton brothers are really riding his coattails, and lowe wasn't interested in giving one of them a job.probably a little bit of truth and a little bit of sour grapes, if i had to guess.
7/12/2008 6:12:51 PM
Figured it would be something like that. Rumor is Q is out though, so maybe one of them could try his potentially old job. I don't know if it'd be worth it though.
7/12/2008 6:25:32 PM
^^ Same info on IC. Wall's AAU coach is handling his recruitment and looking for a job and money from whichever school Wall signs with. Basically, this one's gonna go to the highest bidder, which is typically Memphi$.
7/12/2008 11:41:13 PM
After I made my newest account on PP, i had 2 posts there and applied for IC. I was, of course banned.
7/13/2008 6:05:05 AM
^ yep.
7/13/2008 10:00:13 AM
^^^I actually heard even Calipari didn't want to deal with Wall's handlers and the highest bidder nominations are going to Ok. State and Oregon right now.
7/13/2008 1:18:14 PM
yeah, Oregon, Oklahoma State and supposedly Baylor are his top 3 with Oklahoma State being at the top at the moment. I mean really......what a weird fucking list. Ridiculous
7/13/2008 1:38:33 PM
That definitely shows the money being passed around. When was the last time a major recruit from the east coast's top 3 looked something like that, when the guy has no west coast/midwest connections?
7/13/2008 2:37:43 PM
oregon is notorious for paying players/ hooking up family members with "jobs"
7/13/2008 3:39:24 PM
7/13/2008 5:25:16 PM
John Wall has NCAA violations written all over him.....I honestly am not sure he is worth all of this for 1 season.
7/13/2008 5:55:08 PM
^ that depends on lorenzo brown.
7/13/2008 6:08:12 PM
Yeah, if this is how it's gonna be with Wall I wouldn't give him the time of day. Personally, I'm glad Sid appears to be backing away from this and refusing to beg for his services. At least the man has some pride in himself and in this program.
7/13/2008 7:41:25 PM
Not surprised. Knowing that this is NCSU, you had to figure we would be settling for our plan B PG. Probably going to look get our plan B forward after Favors chooses someone else.
7/13/2008 7:55:07 PM
^ I wouldn't call backing off of a prospect that has shady handlers that want a big payout/job settling on a Plan B PG. If this is all true, then I would be happy that Lowe isn't dealing with that shit. And you know how good of a relationship State has with the NCAA. You know something is up when even Memphis and Calipari are seemingly backing off.

I really hope we land Wall, but I want us to do it the right way. I really hate all of these leeches trying latch onto these ultra talented kids and use them to improve their situation. Hopefully Wall's mom wins out and her son goes to the hometown school who's fans and coaches care about him the most. Wall would be a hero in Raleigh if he came to State.[Edited on July 13, 2008 at 10:49 PM. Reason : ]
7/13/2008 10:49:19 PM
Apparently everyone that watches him is very excited over Ryan Harrow's play. I wouldn't be surprised to see his name get blown up over the next couple of years...remember, no one even knew who John Wall was last year.
7/13/2008 11:17:28 PM
^I agree, the kid is going to be a 4 or 5 star prospect by the time he's a senior...he scored 50 points in a game as a sophomore
