the Braves must be cursed. Chipper hits a pitch in batting practice that bounces off the top of the cage and hits him in the face. Now he is out for at least tonight's game.
6/13/2008 10:03:03 PM
I'd pay 1000 for the video of that
6/13/2008 10:08:38 PM

OMG BRAVES WIN AN AWAY GAME!!!!!!!!
6/14/2008 12:29:08 AM
^^^ I saw it on ESPN so you probably don't have to pay. But I'll try and email it to you for 1000 dollar bucks.God damn Chip, you've only hit BP like 200,000 times in your life, don't hit them straight up.And I guess Soriano is out for a while? I haven't seen anything, but I dropped him on fantasy a couple days ago...good move I guess.[Edited on June 14, 2008 at 3:32 AM. Reason : horrible drunk typing]

Reminds me of Daniel Stern in Rookie of the Year
6/14/2008 4:16:23 AM
^hahaha, hell yea. Or to Wesley Snipes in Major League(although the ones he popped straight up didn't come back and hit him in the head)
6/14/2008 2:29:54 PM
2 of 3 from the angels was not what i expected this weekend from the braves. gg team. and if they're showcasing b.jones for a trade, it's paying off well so far [knock on wood]! either way, it's good for us.
6/16/2008 12:28:15 AM
And Campillo pitched a great game where the only runs he gave up were on a HR where the guy had to reach and hit it with 1 hand to even put the bat on it.
6/16/2008 6:21:04 AM
Over the past few years, nothing has killed Braves momentum like a three game series in Colorado. Tonight is the first game of a three game series in Colorado.
6/16/2008 5:35:46 PM
^actually this is a make up game from earlier in the season. They play @Texas starting tomorrow.
6/16/2008 6:21:32 PM
yeah Colorado hosts Cleveland tomorrow...
6/16/2008 6:24:40 PM
SORRY TREETWISTA
6/16/2008 7:32:48 PM
you dont have to apologize to me, i just figured you'd know basic things about your team
6/16/2008 7:36:12 PM
Good point, I'll pay more attention next time.
6/16/2008 7:56:48 PM
according to the AJC email, Hampton is gonna be pitching again soon for the Gulf Coast Braves; if the over/under was 2 games before his next injury, what do you take? also, gonzo comes off the DL and will be in Texas eligible to pitch on wednesday. Kotsay will be in Texas as well after some additional treatment from his back specialist. all good things to see/hear.
6/17/2008 10:23:14 AM
I'll take the over. He'll go 2 games down there, get called up to ATL, pitch one game and then be done for the year with a quad tear, mark it down.
6/17/2008 11:12:15 AM
Tim Hudson meet Josh Hamilton......1-0 Rangers
6/17/2008 8:20:13 PM
welcome back mike gonzalez. please please please stay healthy.
6/18/2008 11:18:02 PM
i heard a rumor that has boston sending chrisp, lester, and youkilis to the braves for texapparently on braves sports radio
6/19/2008 10:54:31 AM
I've always liked Youk and Lester would be a nice addition to the rotation..it'd be nice to have another lefty.
6/19/2008 11:44:55 AM
^^makes somewhat sense.....youk could play first, crisp center and Lester would be a good addition to the rotationthinking about it, i would be all for that trade. [Edited on June 19, 2008 at 12:04 PM. Reason : ..]
6/19/2008 12:00:21 PM
I think Olney printed something along these lines today or yesterday, but I'm not an insider, so I can't confirm that~Youkilis is having a great season, if his play holds up like that, he would be a fantastic addition (also, wasn't he the one in the scuffle with ManRam? - could chemistry issues facilitate a deal like this?). Lester is also playing great, those 2 alone could help turn this team around. With Crisp, I'm kinda on the fence about, I'm not sure he'd help us, but I do know that Boston wanted to shed his salary earlier. I like Youk and Lester, but it'd be nice to get a prospect (not necessarily a world-beater or anything) instead of Crisp. I'd still do this trade though, in a heartbeat!I'm of the opinion Tex SHOULD be traded, he hasn't really helped us this year, and considering what we gave up for him, Wren should just call it a loss and get something else back. It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Tex won't re-up with us. Looking at this from Boston's point of view, it's kind of a loss for them. They do have outfield and pitching depth, but even so, it seems like alot to give up 3 proven ML players for (possibly) a rental. However, there could be something to be said about Boston wanting Tex to keep him away from NY[Edited on June 19, 2008 at 3:06 PM. Reason : ]
6/19/2008 3:01:46 PM
very interesting trade... would do it in a heartbeat if I were the Braves
6/19/2008 3:06:42 PM
I remember the Red Sox were trying to give us Crisp for Andruw last year. I wonder if there's something about him that the Braves front office really likes. Either way, that's a killer deal for us and I would be all over it.
6/19/2008 4:22:00 PM
pleeeeeease happen! i love tex, but that deal is too good to pass up
6/19/2008 4:31:15 PM
as much as that trade would be pretty awesome, assuming youkilis can hit like that without a green monster and it's not completely a fluke, I hate both him and crisp. Mostly I hate youkilis for his goatee, and Crisp for being a cocky bitch for no reason when he's a fringe starter. Plus the Braves have a lot of OF prosepects, and I'd rather have them get some PT than Crisp who isn't all that good.
6/19/2008 5:07:17 PM
I gotta say, that's a pretty dumb reason to hate someone. C'mon man, it's the Greek God of Walks.
6/19/2008 6:04:58 PM
Well I've seen the guy in the shower; trust me, he's not the greek god of anything...

6/19/2008 8:14:34 PM
Well I learned on mlbtraderumors this morning that Jayson Stark/Ken Rosenthal both indicated Tex is not available. Squashes all those rumors/talk up there^.But in Stark's same post, he mentions:
6/20/2008 9:00:10 AM
The Randy Winn rumors are the most bizarre thing I've heard yet. I can't believe that a team with a front office as smart as the Braves would give up anything more than maybe a season ticket for a 34-year old outfielder currently hitting .297/.360/.444, very slightly above his career numbers. They're not shopping Teixiera around yet because they still believe (rightly, I think) that we still have a good shot at contending this year. They're only 6 games back with a good run differential and an impossible-to-sustain record in 1-run games. If they're 10 games back by the end of July, maybe it's a different story. We definitely need pitching though. I'd be all for going for Bedard, even if we have to give up Jones or Lillibridge.
6/20/2008 10:15:27 AM
Maybe if Bedard shuts the Braves down tonight they can just tell him to stay and send a couple players on the seattle bus
6/20/2008 5:56:13 PM
you guys have some great fielders
6/21/2008 7:25:20 PM
4-19 in one run games now! Imagine if we could just be decent on the road OR in 1 run games. Reverse things we would be the best team in the majors. Instead we have the worst road record but yet still only 5 games out. I will keep hope until we fall 10 out. I think it could get interesting! go bravos.
6/22/2008 12:41:57 AM
Tex is on fire
6/22/2008 6:53:43 PM
got an extra ticket for tomorrow nights game if anyone is around
6/22/2008 9:35:10 PM
god dammit... they are playing like a bunch of retards tonight... what the fuck?
6/24/2008 7:34:10 PM
I say lock this thread.we. suck.
6/25/2008 11:42:00 AM
Tommy Hanson threw a no-hitter for Richmond last night. CALL HIM UP
6/26/2008 4:39:41 PM
Hey guys. I hear Shawn Chacon is available.
6/26/2008 5:32:30 PM
he seems like a good character guy
6/26/2008 5:34:34 PM
oh boy, we are headed to canada. Can we at least win a game away from home? On other news if philly can keep losing and the braves can steal 1 or 2 from the jays we play philly next week. We could sweep and be tied. He I'm hoping here!
6/26/2008 10:13:50 PM
4 back.. This would be a GREAT time to sweep the phils.
6/29/2008 11:01:51 PM

this team is terrible.
7/1/2008 8:56:20 PM
We are dick
7/1/2008 9:06:30 PM
good save by Ohman. K's Utley and Howard with the bases loaded
7/1/2008 9:45:06 PM
Blaine Boyer will throw well because the Braves are not losing/tied. He's fine as long as it's not a crucial situation where he can completely blow the game. But yay I get a fantasy save from Lidge! Because the Braves won't come back..[Edited on July 1, 2008 at 10:03 PM. Reason : nevermind, boyer sucks]
