hmmm well im not sure...btw i think campus legend is a lot more fun and 10x more easier to control as a QB or HB...scrambling QB ftwbut i dunno...i just kind of kept playing it and eventually got them...hopefully when we boot up NCAA in a week or so we'll get the "There is an update available for this game" thingI remember on Madden 07, they had all these achievements about Gamer Level 1, 2, 5, 10, etc all the way up to 50...well I played plenty of Madden so I was level 50 but for some reason even though I got the achievements for level 50, 40, 30, etc, I never got it for Level 2...then one day I popped in Madden, downloaded the update and bam "Achievement Unlocked"

In recruiting, do you guys use the Find Pitch on as many of the fields as possible, or do you just look for your school's best attributes and then try to sway the recruit and get three that match up closely and at a high level (Elite, Great, Excellent, etc.)?When doing visits do you just schedule three high priority events for both you and the recruit that match closely? Or do you just schedule the three that match up best?If a recruit has all pitches locked, is there any reason to even call him? Hard Selling him will just change his demeanor, but I've been led to believe that his smiley face doesn't really matter except for the call? Anyone know what the smiley face really affects, if anything?
8/10/2007 12:49:41 PM
it tells you to find things that your school is good at first and go from there so thats what i do
8/10/2007 1:21:29 PM
do you stop once you have found 3 things your school is good at AND that the recruit likes?Or do you try to uncover them all. I ask, because on one screen it shows the good stuff in green and the bad in red...if you don't uncover it, it might not count against you maybe. It's not overly complicated, but I don't want to waste lots of time each week doing something unneccesary.

That thread easily has more questions than answers, and it seems like no one REALLY knows. Everyone's just experimenting at this point, and I was hoping to get some opinions from you guys.
8/10/2007 2:25:18 PM
In my opinion, you are a fucking McTool
8/10/2007 2:29:57 PM
i try to find the best happy medium between allocating the 10 hours amongst a lot of players and allocating it amongst great playersafter my first season i signed a 6 year extension which really helped my program stability for whichever recruits cared...also the Elite 'proximity to home' you get with local recruits can be valuable...sometimes you just have to keep calling a great prospect though...sometimes you might be 3rd on his list behind Ohio State and Texas and think you dont have a chance to get him, but the Buckeyes and Longhorns might not offer a scholarship to himif all the pitches are locked, i try to hard sell a pitch where we both have at least a Very Good interest to keep his cheesy grin on his football facei think recruiting should get easier each year though...first year at Ball State I went either 12-1 or 13-1 with a Sugar Bowl win and in my 2nd season I"m like 8-0...after the first season most of my pitches went up at least some...also I convinced a solid junior WR and LB to stay for their senior seasons instead of going pro early...when they go pro at the end of this year that should help my 'players in the pros' pitch or whateverand what exactly are the corresponding moods between you and a recruit? is that about right:Elite = MostExcellent = Very HighGreat = HighVery Good = Above AverageGood = AverageFair = Below Average_____ = Least?

no offense guys, but this isn't your myspace page...if you have time to talk in TWW, you have time to log into AIMplayed half a game of Hawaii vs. Utah with a buddy over lunch...both teams only has two offensive sets...Ace and Shotgun...I'll never do that again. Only good run plays were from the goalline set
8/10/2007 3:02:09 PM
what difference does it make if we post here or aol? you dont have to read what was posted
8/10/2007 3:16:34 PM
Yes, he's right. We're trying to talk about NCAA 08, not some fucking game you guys play one night. No one else here wants to read the play-by-play of your shitty game, so stick to talking about the game and go on IM for that shit.
8/10/2007 3:21:44 PM
i think if you need to talk to set a game up or something then sure...tell him "i'll be online in a few" or somethingdont you guys have headsets though as far as in game stuff?,/]
8/10/2007 3:25:12 PM
I am about to hike the ball

8/10/2007 3:31:23 PM
I disagree, I FUCKING LOVED your play by play last nightMy only suggestion would be that instead of posting all in this thread, make a BRAND NEW THREAD for every comment you have.Treetwista, next game we play, we're ditching the headsets and letting TWW in our fun.
8/10/2007 3:36:12 PM
^ IT SHALL BE WRITTEN!
8/10/2007 3:37:00 PM
why? because 50 of 52 posts across two pages of this thread were the two of you fucking talking back and forth
8/10/2007 3:40:05 PM
My guess is one or maybe both of them have Downs voices so they don't want to talk with the headsets
8/10/2007 3:45:33 PM
that game was classic, the play by play does not give it justice, i had like a 28-7 lead and then got lazy on both sides of the ball and he stormed back to take the lead by a fg with about 40 seconds left i think...i get the ball and drive, make one 4th down completion, then get a completion to get in fg range but forget how to spike the ball, so i just hit hurry up offense and run the same play. throw it to the receiver heading for the corner who just catches it before the safety hits him and i fall into the endzone for the gw TD(no time left)
8/10/2007 4:40:00 PM
does running the score up on I-AA teams negatively affect coach's prestige?
8/11/2007 12:28:20 AM
yeah and kneeling when you have the lead affects it positively. Its a videogame, cookiecunt.
8/11/2007 12:31:21 AM
umm, soooo, are you being sarcastic?
8/11/2007 12:45:57 AM

i'm getting updated rosters tonight if the stupid xchange will work
8/11/2007 8:01:20 PM
just played the ville and had two picks sixes in the first half in a tough tough game. didn't force any punts the entire game and blew a lead in the 3rd qtr when wilson fumbled in my own redzone. brown got hurt in the 4th, brohm was unstopable and they tied it with 1 minute left. blackman made a catch and spin for a big gain and then when eugene was tired he broke a big run to get me for a 42 yard game winner. 41-382 five star recruits were therebrown is out 4 weeks hill got hurt vs boise and is out 3 more weeksi'm gonna have to burn baker's redshirtthat makes two top25 home wins in a row. 3-2 (2-0)i've figured out how to play the computers pass and get potential picks without giving up any big plays. cover 2 man. I still can't stop the occasional 70 yard run with 5 bad tackles.[Edited on August 11, 2007 at 8:21 PM. Reason : sooo hard to get a stop on heisman]
8/11/2007 8:20:24 PM

playing 2 dynasty seasons as Ball State, which is located in Indiana (Muncie), I've played multiple snow games...the neat thing was sometimes it was just a little snow and you could see the yardlines, sidelines, etc, sometimes it was medium snow where you could barely see the lines, and sometimes you couldnt see shit except for the pileons and goalposts...pretty neat...however i was kind of disappointed in the lack of change when you slide in the snow or have a big pile up...doesnt really move the snow around like some other football games in the past
8/12/2007 8:51:24 PM
god dammit, I jsut cant pass against the computer...11-36, 7 INTs
8/12/2007 11:08:46 PM
ahaha wow, yea i have some problems sometimes...what difficulty are you playing on?
8/12/2007 11:09:39 PM
AA... I cant do shit I have INTs and AW all the way down to zero. They are on top of me every damn snap, and I have SOOOO many passes get tipped, bounced around and intercepted
8/12/2007 11:17:42 PM
1. Run the ball a lot2. PA to the flat3. Truck the fuck outta whatever safety or corner gets in your wayDon't be a hero.
8/12/2007 11:22:14 PM
slants and posts. you can forget fly and any kind of out.
8/12/2007 11:30:45 PM
Squeaked out an amazingly nailbiter last second field goal against Michigan national title win and my game locked up before I could save dunno if its a game glitch or my 360 but occasionally the game will have to reload the profile automatically for some reason...dunno[Edited on August 12, 2007 at 11:54 PM. 8/12/2007 11:47:29 PM
^^outs are fine, just as long as you dont throw it across your body while the D is in zone, that is a sure interception from those super-linebackers...actually i usually just stay away from the out receiver all together if i notice the defense is playing zone, i usually am forced to scramble and throw the ball away if i have a slow qbive started using slants more, never really did back in the older games, and it has worked pretty well. ive always been a fan of PA passes to the flats or PA passes to tight ends, they have worked well almost every year ive played ncaa games...[Edited on August 13, 2007 at 12:59 AM. Reason : dur][Edited on August 13, 2007 at 1:00 AM. Reason : more]
8/13/2007 12:58:54 AM
outs are super easy to pick of in man this year because the qb underthrows most throws and the db usually gets beat
8/13/2007 1:44:18 AM
yes it definitely is, its kind of good in a way, the game was getting quite repetitive and too easy, i really need to practice my defense though, aside from learning how to pass on offense again, i struggle mightily defending the pass. i seem to have the worst luck with anything in zone(playing on heisman) so i only use it for zone blitzes. also, i swear the game developers tinkered a bit with switching players during gameplay as well, cause im never switching to the right player. its the same format as 07 but i dont remember having this much trouble getting the right player selected, most notably when the ball is in the air
8/13/2007 2:01:30 AM
every game i give up a td because i was switching to pick a guy in the qbs face as he threw it and it pulled the corner out of the play and that never happened in past years. in the past i think it switched to the guy closest to the ball but now it switches to the guy closest to where the ball will land or something like that.i have major trouble defending pass as well. when i'm in man with safety help they hit a comeback, slant or something underneath. when i'm in a deep zone they hit underneath and when i'm in a cover 2 they hit me deep and when they play-action i'm screwed anytime i don't get to the qb no matter what i'm in somebody's wide open. in my game vs brohm i picked him off twice early and he only had like 2 or 3 more incompletions the rest of the game.
8/13/2007 2:10:08 AM
yea i was playing as oregon in a dynasty earlier tonight and the freakin qb for houston drops a stat line on me something similar to this:21-24 323 yds passing, 3 TDs, 1 int(cpu controlled, not user pick)im left wondering what i have to do to play good passing defense, luckily i can usually shut down the run even with all the 15 rb break tackles in the backfield...im wondering if moving my coach strategy to as far as i can go to pass defense and less rush defense would do anything(i figure not, since i thought that was only there for simulations and/or showing recruits what kind of style of football you play).
8/13/2007 2:17:14 AM
ha, I knew you would be using Oregon.and I realize that certain plays "work" better than others, but I dont like doing that, its too gimmicky for me; like the option, you almost can ALWAYS get at least 2-4 yards on an option, so its good for 3rd and 2 etc. but if the team I am using doesnt use the option (Tennessee for example), I will force myself not to use it.
8/13/2007 10:16:54 AM
poetrickster realy sucks at this game
8/13/2007 10:31:19 AM
