the ants were very easy. I also had like 16 frag mines at the time.I think I'm going to go fuck the queen up... why not?
11/12/2008 7:09:20 PM
Had to take a break to play COD5. Go to the ghost city. You can find like 40 mines.
11/12/2008 7:20:47 PM
They call it "Minefield" for a reason, yo.Shotgun + ants = dead ants, easy. I was surprised by how far away that thing does decent damage.
11/12/2008 8:08:02 PM
yeah, that sniping bitch didnt make it any easier, I gladly enslaved his punkass later on...and the minigun does jackshit damage... I will just be unloading into someone and they just keep coming... hunting rifle is still my fave. weapon
11/12/2008 8:13:27 PM
hunting rifle was my weapon of choice definitely. that said arkansas is a bitch if you have a stealthboy.
11/12/2008 9:13:30 PM
Minigun isn't very useful unless it's in great condition. Or if you don't have good skill in big guns. Even then it's not very useful in VATS.I downloaded a mod which makes the minigun a bit more powerful.[Edited on November 12, 2008 at 9:21 PM. Reason : ]
11/12/2008 9:21:01 PM
Big Guns in general are pretty weak.
11/12/2008 9:32:30 PM
Gatling Laser mows people down FYI. Big Guns benefit you later in the game I think. Also everyone should check out 'Oasis' when they get a chance, it's near Vault 90something up North.
11/12/2008 10:06:59 PM
I think my favorite so far is the combat shotgun. There's a good chance of blowing someones head clean off on every shot.
11/12/2008 10:17:58 PM
i carry 4 weapons with methe android's plasma riflethe lincoln repeateralien pistoleither vengance (gatling laser) or burnmaster (flamer)i'd pretty much use just the lincoln repeater if it wasn't for the scarcity of 44 ammo
11/13/2008 12:02:02 AM
Since discovering the Terrible Shotgun, that's all that my good character uses.
11/13/2008 1:08:16 AM
shishkabob is a fucking beast, I mow people down with that fuckeralso, I wiped out the ghouls for tenpenny, then broke into his place, shot his ass on the balcony, but no one acknowledges that hes dead but I also cant use his room... I should get his pad dammit[Edited on November 13, 2008 at 2:51 AM. Reason : d]
11/13/2008 2:49:41 AM
I just took the key off of him after I blasted him and I can use some room around the balcony. I know this room is meant for me because it has a bobblehead collection stand in there.
11/13/2008 8:15:05 AM
Wait, you can enslave Arkansas? I did the mission for that chick in Megaton and just killed his ass because I wanted a sniper rifle
11/13/2008 8:24:29 AM
^^ his key works for his door, but not that one on the balcony^ yes, you dont have to kill him at all in the mine/playground mission, hes not related to that, just happens to be there
11/13/2008 10:56:09 AM
Well then why the hell was he red and shooting at me? Hah. Serious question, I figured if someone is hostile to you then they are just someone to kill...
11/13/2008 10:59:52 AM
well, I guess what I meant was that you could complete that mission without interacting with him at all
11/13/2008 11:08:22 AM
i unlocked a very hard cabinet in an old shack near Rockbreaker's Last Gas and nothing was in it. i looked it up and apparently the victory rifle is supposed to be in there... why would it be empty
11/13/2008 11:14:26 AM
I still dont know how to lockpick, I just kind of randomly move shit around and hope it works
11/13/2008 11:53:56 AM
Its easy. Listen to the sound of it would when put pressure on it with the screw driver.
11/13/2008 11:56:08 AM
Sometimes you have to turn it to the left or right, depending on the lock, but basically if you are careful you won't break any bobbypins. Just be careful with the screwdriver and you can pick any lock. The whole skill level thing just allows you to attempt to pick the lock, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference in regards to the difficulty of the lock.
11/13/2008 1:09:38 PM
well, your level also effects your chance to force the lock...at 100 lockpick i have a 100% chance to force a very easy lock, 85% for easy...etcof course playing on the PC, I just quicksave and force until it unlocks...really makes some of the perks useless (the one fore extra tries on locks and computer terminals)
11/13/2008 1:36:28 PM
yea and i wouldn't suggest building up science and lockpick both to 100 - usually a safe will be next to a terminal and you can use the terminal to unlock the safe or just pick it if your lockpick skill is highlockpick is way more important than science to me
11/13/2008 3:12:52 PM
I've made like 5 characters now and I've decided Repair is probably the most important thing to have, followed by small guns.
11/13/2008 3:18:10 PM
^^^ cheating sonofabitch!
11/13/2008 3:47:23 PM
11/13/2008 3:49:24 PM
F5 is awesome.
11/13/2008 3:50:35 PM
man, thats not fun at all... I just go with what happens, I've fucked up a lot and just kept going, thats most of the fun, not "winning" everything
11/13/2008 3:50:36 PM
When I'm out in the wastes, there is nothing better than some radioactive dogmeat and dirty water.
11/13/2008 4:17:43 PM
with fighting i just go with whatever, but i started to run low on lockpicks and could never find a place to get more, so i started saving now and then. most easy ones i just try to force and call it a day if they fail.
11/13/2008 6:32:34 PM
the only way i exploit saving is every once in a while, i wonder "hmmm... before i go, i wonder what this person is carrying..." so i save and blow their head off.
11/13/2008 7:14:25 PM
I do like how it auto saves every time you enter/exit an area.
11/13/2008 7:23:08 PM
I like how it explodes every time a banana falls off the apple tree in suntime.
11/13/2008 7:55:04 PM
^^Thats easy to change in your settings.*My bad, I read that as you don't like it.[Edited on November 13, 2008 at 8:55 PM. Reason : g]
11/13/2008 8:51:28 PM
In the ending mission(s) I took about 10 each of psycho, med-x, jet, and stealth boy, and used the Lincoln repeater and had about 100 rounds for it. It was rather nice
11/13/2008 8:53:15 PM
i just left the citadel and am about to go looking for vault 87. how much further is left in the main quest? i don't want the end of the game to sneak up on me before i get a chance to do some more exploring and side quests.
11/13/2008 8:57:39 PM
Be careful, you are close enough, but honestly there will be several obvious chances to save and do else, also you can always go back to a previous save and continue from that point in the game.
11/13/2008 9:02:27 PM
Not too much further. I'm currently in my 2nd play through and am skipping the everything about the main quest. I would recommend completing the main quest after you've done everything you want to do.
11/13/2008 9:03:22 PM
Damit so apparently during one of my treks around the map I've gotten the glitch where Nathan is dead beside the bomb and Walter the processing plant guy is missing. I wouldnt care so much except I used to get hella good Karma for every scrap metal I gave him, which was a lot. Now I have to scrounge purified waters and hope my bums dont die.
11/13/2008 10:15:16 PM
the ranger combat armor is awesome +10 to small guns and +1 to agility and luckbut it looks dorky compared to the enclave power armor dammit why couldn't they make it look cooler
11/13/2008 11:20:46 PM
^^if you have the house in megaton your robot butler guy will give you 3 or 4 clean waters every couple of days. whoa. i stumbled across a deathclaw lab or something. these things take off vertically into the sky and disappear before you can kill them. wacky.
11/13/2008 11:43:57 PM
yea the game is getting way tougher for me i was walking around the wasteland and got attacked by two enclave soldiers and then this giant thing started attacking all of us turned out it was a deathclaw me and my dog died
11/14/2008 12:12:04 AM
oooh me and the super mutant are a team now
11/14/2008 12:36:47 AM
just beat the game on my first playthroughtook about 100 hours (self-employed FTW), discovered 160 locations (which I think is all of them), and had over half of my skills at 100 thanks to advancing and finding books. maybe i was just too powerful, but the ending seemed too easy and fast
11/14/2008 12:42:18 AM
100 hours for non-stop play is great. I'm a casual player, so I tend to only play 1 quest at a time and save and quit to play some other time. I just recently fixed the Galaxy News signal and found out my dad is in Rivet city. I love playing these kinds of games casually, because it's like they never end.
11/14/2008 9:19:33 AM
So the enemies do NOT scale like Oblivion, correct?
11/14/2008 10:59:16 AM
Correct. I would estimate about about 1/3 to 1/2 of the scale of Oblivion.
11/14/2008 11:02:26 AM
^^They don't scale like Oblivion.
11/14/2008 11:28:08 AM
my ps3 froze a record 4 times last nite - i think it has frozen maybe 2 total times playing games other than falloutplease patch now
