7/6/2006 10:54:49 PM
jesus christi knew we were fucked when pete said "great job by hudson tonight, he's headed for the win as long as the pen can do the job"
7/6/2006 11:08:43 PM
aha
7/6/2006 11:11:34 PM
at least our offense isn't rolling over and dying, we've actually looked pretty good at the plate during the homestandand not that it should make us feel any better but the reds do this shit every other gameoh well, a win is a win

Bobby needs 2 pitchers in the pen... he has to get them... now. I could pitch a save with a 5-run lead. Send sosa back to guatemala or columbia or where ever the hell he's from.
7/7/2006 8:33:02 AM
7/7/2006 10:36:47 AM
fun fact: the reds' manager was born and raised in hillsborough
7/8/2006 7:19:28 PM
fun fact... we're winning again.
7/9/2006 1:42:35 AM
Fun fact.. The Mess are going to CHOKE and the Braves will win the east... Mark it.
7/9/2006 2:28:41 AM
its too little too late for us. BUT I do think we have a chance at the wild card...a very slim one, but a chance. Smoltzy is the only guy I can count on.
7/9/2006 2:33:53 AM
we're in 3rd place in the division and playin real well, movin up quick

if its possible for us to turn the proverbial corner, i think we've done ithopefully we can carry the momentum through the break
7/9/2006 10:46:35 PM
you guys have to trade for a closer and another SP to have a shoti dont know why they didnt go after guardado, he would have been cheap[Edited on July 9, 2006 at 10:55 PM. Reason : ,]
7/9/2006 10:55:26 PM
unfortunately i don't think there's much chance we'll get bothi'd rather get a couple of young relievers, doesn't look like there will be many quality starters on the marketi think we'll lose smoltz, giles, saltalamamcamcia, and probably luis hernandezwe have plenty of minor league talent to dealif we can stay within 8 or 9 games i imagine we can avoid the fire sale
7/9/2006 11:00:17 PM
Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the trade deadline... because it'll break my heart seeing Smoltz in a different uniform (maybe Tigers?)But if that's what needs to be done, then that's what needs to be done. The Mets always collapse... but with their offense this year (and David Wright) I'm not sure if there's much chance of hanging #15 beside the others... But hey, it was a hell of a ride and we're not quite done yet. The Braves still have the best farm system in all of baseball. I think we realize that we have a problem with the pitching (a non-characteristic Braves problem)... we'll correct it and get 15 divisions of 16 next year.

last night's game was wacky as fuck
7/15/2006 3:17:11 PM
7/15/2006 3:28:02 PM
i was watching that game last night and i was so fucking pissed. the braves blew multiple leads of multiple runs. it sucked because hudson did what he had to do and then the bullpen destroyed it again. 2 blown saves in one game!!at least they fucked up hoffman and ended up with the win in the end. if the braves can do something to settle down their bullpen, i know they hav a chance to comeback. i'm not giving up on them yet.
7/15/2006 3:30:58 PM
hudson was shit last night
7/15/2006 4:09:21 PM
oh shit, you're right, i somehow forgot the third inning was his fault.

^^^, we're 12 games back. And just for reference. The Braves were 10 games back on July 22, 1993 and came back to win the divisionhttp://www.baseball-reference.com/games/standings.cgi?date=1993-07-22[Edited on July 17, 2006 at 2:29 PM. Reason : .]

Chipper is tearing shit up. He looks like the Chipper from 99 that just absolutely murdered the Mets Also the Braves clearly need to focus on the wild card and forget the division unless the Mess start to really, really struggle (plz God to make the Mets suck). They are 5 1/2 out in the wild card and in reality, their biggest worries should be the Astros and Dodgers - two teams that play in tougher divisions this year. If the Braves can consistently win 2 out of 3 and keep the bullpen from exploding each night, they'll be right there come September. I'll be pretty impressed though if this team can finish the year above .500 after the 6-22 or whatever June.
7/17/2006 5:30:42 PM
I noticed the 5.5 back in the Wild Card as well, but we're aiming for the division title.
