5/19/2005 12:56:58 PM
Phat movie, I thought. Made me want to watch all six episodes again.
5/19/2005 1:03:36 PM
huh?qui-gon has only recently discovered itit makes the whole "if you strike me down, i'll become more powerful than you can imagine" thing make more sense
5/19/2005 1:04:59 PM
interesting... perhaps the females pass on the trait (not to say that their aren't female jedi's, just not as many). for example leia is strong in the force, yet she never used it or became a jedi, her offspring would have the ability. or obi wans sisters kids could be candidates for jedi, or mace's, or any of the others.[Edited on May 19, 2005 at 1:06 PM. what makes you think luke had that training?
5/19/2005 1:07:17 PM
Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong thing. Doesn't Yoda tell Ob-Wan that he will train on Tattoine in order to talk to Qui-Gon? Maybe I mistook the dialogue and he was saying that Qui-Gon was there waiting to train Obi-Wan. Sorry for any confusion.
5/19/2005 1:09:54 PM
i think yoda was going to train obi wan so he could talk to qui gon on tattooine and meditate and smoke it up with him
5/19/2005 1:12:10 PM
word
5/19/2005 1:17:16 PM
I have no great words to typethe movie blew me awaygg Lucas
5/19/2005 1:25:45 PM
I think jedi can pass on the trait, but normally it shows up randomly like a mutation. Qui-gon was all casual about it when he told anakin "u might be force sensitive billy. isnt that a hoot?

Yea its reasonable to assume they are the same. Palpatine orchestrated the entire war, so he's likely the man who set up the clone army, planning to one day use it against the separatists.

So I am watching the movie and they get to the part where obiwan kanobi tells anakin to spy on palpatine and the movie cuts off and the lights come back on. THE PROJECTOR BREAKS!!!11111 this being at like 1:30am. They cant fix the projector so they have to tell everyone they will show it again at 3:00 am in anothe theatre, and give everyone three free movie passes.Fucking never seen that shit happen ever. NEVER seen a projector just break. And it would be during the midnight showing of the last starwars. So so so many pissed of nerds. Funny as shit kinda, even though I was one of them. So I watched it at 3-6 am. I couldnt not see it at that point.Got to see the sun rise with my gf ^The force doesnt stick to any gender what-so-ever. If you can feel the force and you have children, they will feel the force force, period.(training plays a huge part in how good you are with it though)And I never actually considered if the Jedi had children or not before the fall of the republic. I mean there are enough people to keep the Jedi ranks full that randomly have the force. But it seems to me that even though you are a Jedi, you would want to have children.....I mean come on.....That need is so basic, I wouldnt like to think it was forbiden.[Edited on May 19, 2005 at 2:03 PM. lucas did get the name coruscant from the books
5/19/2005 2:09:00 PM

i'm pretty sure it came from the zahn books but i could be wrong

Correct.Lucas will take a small snippet here and there but he has no allegiance to the EU. The EU is designed to supplement Lucas (albeit poorly), not to govern what he can do with his films.

i'm still adhering to my long standing suspicion that episodes 4-6 will be re-released with full storylines and original footage that was intentionally left out.

after sleeping on itthey should have explained the darth vader suit more instead of just putting it onthey should have explained his vitals like they did padme's, they shoulda gone over the suit and how it worked, and they shoulda gone over any alternativesit coulda taken 3 minutes max, but they way they did it was too shortthey ended the movie too abruptly, would anyone have really cared if it lasted another 15-20 minutes? they coulda shown yoda trying to figure out where to go hide.people complained about return of the king never ending, but i think this movie coulda been longer and no one would complain
5/19/2005 3:10:06 PM
RoTK was an hour longer than Ep3. I dont think the Darth Vader suit needed any explaination. It was pretty clear what it was for.I do wish they explained why chose Dagobah. I mean, i know why, but it wouldve made more sense to others.
5/19/2005 3:15:17 PM
by longer i meant the ending, not the moviethe ending to ROTK just dragged on and on and onthe ending of EpIII just sorta ended
5/19/2005 3:18:52 PM
^YES! I agree completely! If anything, they could have shortened the beginning sequence when they were going to save the chancellor...Other than that, I thought the movie was pretty good...
5/19/2005 3:27:52 PM
^^ I would love to see the originally trilogy, actually just ANH, with some of the left out scenes, especially w/ luke talking to his friends and watching organa's ship get taken by the star destroyer. What other scenes do you think he should include?
5/19/2005 3:29:07 PM

What I think I'm going to like is how Obi-Wan is always beating Vader. During the lightsaber fight, it was obvious that Obi-Wan was still the master. Anakin lost because he was overconfident in his abilities (remember Anakin always thinks he's better than Obi-Wan). When they meet again in Episode IV, Anakin claims that he was but the learner the last time they met (Ep3), but now he is the master. Kid never learns. And then Obi-Wan has that ace in his pocket noting that Vader can't win, because Obi-Wan will pass on to a higher plane and become more powerful than he can possibly imagine, which he does.

this may be a small thing, but i was glad to see the ships in this one more resemble the ships from the original trilogy. one of the things that annoyed me about the first one is that everything looked so much more advanced with the way they went crazy with the cgi. this movie really brought everything together well. also, someone mentioned they felt cp30 having his memory wiped was a cop-out. I think in some ways it was, but at the same he did know the secret of luke and leia and they did not want to risk the emperor finding out. also not erasing r2's memory ties in with ep IV where luke talks about r2 having been the property of obi wan...however, i do find it odd that obi wan does not remember r2.
