K, I've come to the conclusion that I definitely learned nothing in Hoon Hong's MA341 class, that I do not know how to find the solution for this problem, that the notes are not helpful, and that university's math department needs to find people who actually teach for money, not just provide you a bunch of patterns to memorize that are actually completely useless when trying to solve anything besides the limited examples you're given in class.

I see why some people get so damn pissed off at their professors now.
