Jesus H I completely forgot about Seth CurryThe Rich get Richerand the poor get fucked over and out
4/17/2010 11:06:41 PM
i'll have to see seth curry before i pass judgement. just because he's stephen's brother and dale's son doesn't mean he'll be as good as they were. yes, he averaged 20 ppg at liberty, but he also had a 1:1 assist:turnover ratio. it looks like he might be effective as a shooting guard, but the stats he compiled were against worse defenses than what he'd see in the acc. he did average 25 ppg against virginia and clemson during his one season at liberty but his assist:turnover was way less than 1. with nolan and kyrie, i can't see curry playing pg.
4/18/2010 1:00:10 AM
keep this in mind: for you to get assists, your teammates have to be able to hit baskets.

All I want to do is race, daddy.
4/18/2010 1:39:56 AM
also keep in mind that hes bee playing with duke for a year already.
4/18/2010 1:52:18 AM
dale's son isn't really his son
4/18/2010 2:38:06 AM
wow, i typed in dale instead of dell. that was definitely worth all the shit posts.

Definitely
4/18/2010 3:18:34 AM
meh. lets see scheyer's freshman ratio.
4/18/2010 10:02:33 AM
Scheyer as a freshman:1.8 assists to 1.6 turnovers....1.17 A/Taveraged ~34 minutes per game that seasonscored in double figures in 23 of their 33 gameszero double digit assists games
4/18/2010 10:10:20 AM
note that scheyer wasn't a pg his freshman year. he was a pure shooter in the jj reddick mold. even though he had a 1.17 A:T, he only had 61 assists. compare that with his numbers when paulus was benched/left program. 102 his junior year and 194 his senior year, even with nolan smith playing pg along side of him. he did become a better passer over time, but he got more opportunities to run the offense as an upperclassman.that said, i assume seth curry will become a better passer but if he's going to play point, he'll have to mature quickly. luckily, he won't have to play a road game for about 3 months into season
4/18/2010 11:11:27 AM
you don't think Kyrie comes in and starts at the PG right away? The other freshman PG Tyler Thornton would back him up. If he did that, they'd have Smith at the 2 with Curry backing him up, Singler at the 3 if he returns next year, and the Plumlee's down low with Ryan Kelly and incoming freshman Josh Hairston.
4/18/2010 11:18:32 AM
fair enough that nolan played sg with scheyer running most of the point, but he has 3 years experience at the position with coach k. i can't see irving taking that spot from him on day 1.[Edited on April 18, 2010 at 11:28 AM. Reason : ...]
4/18/2010 11:25:18 AM
4/18/2010 11:28:25 AM
what the hell does coach k have to gain by putting smith at pg? he sucked there (not paulus bad but still bad) and was amazing this year at the 2. granted, some of that was probably just experience and getting better but I dont see why'd you go and ruin a good thing for no reason
4/18/2010 2:04:07 PM
If you watched the Jordan Brand Classic last night (I know it's just a stupid all-star game, but still) you would have come away very impressed with Kyrie Irvring. Dude is going to be sick. I like the fact that Coach K went out and signed a JUCO SF in Carrick Felix to solidify the 3 for the next 3 years (dude redshirted his first year in JUCO). Felix is supposedly very athletic, and with Singler being gone either this year or next Coach K needed a SF that could contribute right away. Here's how I see their roster breaking down next year with the starters listed first.PG - Irving, Thornton (Thornton is actually more of a combo guard than a true PG though)SG - Smith, Dawkins, Curry (here it doesn't matter, I think K lets Dawkins and Curry figure out who's coming in for Smith based on how they are playing)SF - Singler (if he stays), FelixPF - Mason Plumlee, KellyC - Miles Plumlee, Hairston
4/18/2010 2:14:17 PM
only real question marks for Duke next year are in the frontcourt... i think the Plumlees will improve and be pretty good, but they're really gonna miss the rebounding from Zoubek and Thomas. plus having 4 bigs to give fouls last year really helped.
4/18/2010 2:17:11 PM
God, I hope Ryan Kelly gets a bunch of playing time
4/18/2010 2:33:00 PM
Kelly follows in a long line of ugly, weird looking white dudes to play for Duke.
4/18/2010 2:44:50 PM
a lot of us wanted him to be our ugly, weird looking white dude. he went duke so we went down under and got vandy.
4/18/2010 2:47:29 PM
biggest mistake of his life ...Coulda taken horners spot this year at the 4, and we would have been much better off (not to mention that he would have played more than 5 minutes a game, if that). He'll take a backseat to the plumlees his whole career at duke.
4/18/2010 2:52:41 PM
I must have clicked the wrong thread, could some one show me where the NC State recruiting thread is? thnx!
4/18/2010 2:56:00 PM
^ your girlfriend when you were in school was HOTTT

4/18/2010 3:03:27 PM
IIRC I think Lowe will be the last coach that makes an in-home visit with Leslie.
4/18/2010 3:30:29 PM
^^In the video on that page Leslie said he wasn't making the visit to UF anymore, whatever that means
4/18/2010 3:34:15 PM
I think UF said they cancelled his visit. Hopefully that means he has officially made his decision and UF learned of it.
4/18/2010 3:47:46 PM
they didn't want him to waste their timethey know it's between us and UK
4/18/2010 3:55:06 PM
Lowe needs to get in on that home visit
4/18/2010 4:06:07 PM
Epic disappointment looming ITT
4/18/2010 4:07:11 PM
From what I've read on Pack Pride each coach only gets one in home visit. I'd rather have Lowe be the last of the 2 between him and Calipari than the first.
4/18/2010 4:12:25 PM
Plus what I have heard about CJL being on campus playing ball all the time it's not like lowe isn't getting any face time.
4/18/2010 4:22:08 PM
I could be wrong but I'm nearly certain those are all considered unofficial visits and Lowe would not be allowed anything more than a "hello" type of interaction.
4/18/2010 4:34:01 PM
i'll take howell playing 30mpg over splitting time with kelly any day
4/18/2010 4:52:48 PM
You gotta worry a little less about Lorenzo after seeing this!
4/18/2010 4:56:11 PM
^worry about what?
4/18/2010 5:00:29 PM
Not qualifying
4/18/2010 5:01:39 PM
and that post allays that concern how? he's been posting shit like that for months
4/18/2010 5:05:15 PM
Why are you guys worried about Brown so much? There hasn't been news for a reason. When's the last time a kid went to Hargrave and DIDN'T qualify?
4/18/2010 5:31:10 PM
4/18/2010 5:52:50 PM
so it looks like Mays is gone
4/18/2010 7:33:13 PM
do what now
4/18/2010 7:38:13 PM
??????
4/18/2010 7:49:53 PM
^^^ I heard he may transfer, but the Wright State coach left. Any new developments?
4/18/2010 7:50:50 PM
Word on the internet is that Mays is transferring, because he won't be seeing much playing time with the new PGs coming in.[Edited on April 18, 2010 at 7:53 PM. Reason : dunno where to though]
4/18/2010 7:53:16 PM
that is disappointing, i kindof like mays.it's hard to say b/c the offense always seems to do nothing when he's in, but he almost always has a good stat line.[Edited on April 18, 2010 at 7:59 PM. Reason : i always hate it for a kid when they transfer, though.]
4/18/2010 7:57:43 PM
needed the depth. He seemed like a better shooter than PG. His stroke looks good, but he always had to worry about running the offense.
4/18/2010 8:05:12 PM
I would have liked Mays to be backup SG.. he was never a PG, but would be solid stealing 10-15 minutes a game at the 2
4/18/2010 8:07:53 PM
