No, I just didn't get payed off. If I got offered that kinda cash I'd say deleting evidence after a subpoena was okay too.

^^That's what I've been saying all along, but I've only been called a hack for it.Don't think I've ever referred to Obama as a traitor. He wants this country to be great too. His great is just a lot different than my great.
11/7/2016 10:37:07 AM
Honestly I think you get beat up far too much on here for having reasonable disagreements with Obama and Democratic policy.I rarely agree with you but I also don't think you have any bad intentions whatsoever. It's a bit sad that the tendency on here and really everywhere is to lump in reasonable people with... well, the deplorable people.

can we at least get a baseline of when you thought it was great at some point in the past?
11/7/2016 11:37:05 AM
I'll admit where my beliefs are unreasonable, and that mostly centers around the whole trans thing - my mind may be made up on that one, I'm pretty intransigent. But most other things, 10 years ago I was very right of center, and I've moved closer to moderate. I've never liked Obama's views, not because he is black but I still hear that argument so much it makes me sick. As a matter of fact, when I was supporting McCain, and then Romney, all my Democratic co-workers could ever tell me was that I didn't like him because he was black. No. That has nothing to do with it. I don't agree his ideals. I didn't want the Bush bailouts of '08. What did Obama do? More of the same. I don't know if I've ever seen a more pro-banking administration. Which makes sense now after the latest Wikileaks.I was afraid that the promises made during the sell of the ACA wouldn't work out - I feel like I've been mostly vindicated on that part. Yes, there are many more Americans that have healthcare, but at what cost? We might as well have put the Constitution through a paper shredder for that one. Americans being forced to buy something from privately held companies??? And then have the nerve to call it a tax? Thanks Roberts! I'm glad that pre-existing conditions are covered, and I'm glad that the unfortunate have a better option for healthcare, but it is emptying out my wallet and the wallets of many other middle class families.I was unsure of his foreign policy, and looking back, it hasn't had a great track record. But look - I was too young to care about politics during Clinton v1.0, and I was too involved in coursework and weekends to really get involved during the early Bush years, so really, as a close study, Obama is the only president I've paid much attention too.If Clinton wins, I'm sure I'll be critical of many things, but I'm going to try to keep an open mind. If Trump wins, well, I guess I'll just have to start digging that fallout shelter.

There's selflessness, and then there's having to pay an extra $1000 for premiums, plus larger deductibles.Have you ever lost an extra 1k/month? That hurts. That's some big charity right there. So don't call me selfish and twist my words.

lets not forget that having health insurance does not = having access to healthcareACA helped some people but was it good for the long term or a waste of time and a setback from universal healthcare?
11/7/2016 1:18:57 PM
Let's not forget that - and I'll specifically work with NC here as it is what I know- that the state refused to even think about using a state marketplace. Now I'm not saying that we would have better rates - we very well might be right where we are now - but by relying on state policies only, we have opened the door to having less options to begin with. Kind of a no-brainer that over a few years we would lose the smaller companies due to being bought out or not being profitable. Overall - the ACA absolutely needs to be tweaked, if someone actually floats a better possible option (repeal does not count as what we had was antiquated and even more of a quagmire) then I'm all for it as well - but I have yet to see anyone actually produce another option.[Edited on November 7, 2016 at 2:31 PM. ^the military. police. fire departments. libraries. universities. should we just let people choose a la carte what social services they want to pay for and not pay for? i'm sure there are some quakers who would like to not pay taxes that get spent on the military. or folks with no need for book learnin who don't want to pay for federal research grants. or are those not a removal of liberty (lol)?
11/7/2016 2:40:51 PM
No, mine went up 4800, but the folks that had the better plan, theirs increased about 500/pay period, which is 24 installments. I had to choose a cheaper plan with a higher deductible to come that close to what I was paying. But hey, I was supposed to save 2500, remember? And don't give me that crap about "well, it woulda went up more..." He was very specific. He didn't tell me that I would save 2500 vs the annual increases we're seeing..." He said I'd save 2500. And now my insurance is increasing nearly half that.

What are your thoughts on every leading economist out there saying that Trump's policies will add far more to the deficit and the national debt than any other candidate this cycle? It seems like it's an important topic to you.

^^what are your thoughts on defense spending?
11/7/2016 4:43:02 PM
What does defense spending, or Trump's economic plan, have to do with the unconstitutional ACA forcing people to pay for something they don't want?
11/7/2016 5:40:44 PM

obama also needed to take emergency action on water crises throughout the country. his doj needed to at least try to take action on criminal activity in flint. no sense of urgency when it comes to poor people's drinking water but he was like OMG WE HAVE TO SAVE THE CAR COMPANIES AND BANKS ASAP OR ELSE.
11/8/2016 12:53:06 AM
^^ Fair point - though in the current climate not a possibility either. I do think it will absolutely be an option in the future but it will most likely be a progression as opposed to a sweeping change - hence the tweaking to the ACA first.I wouldn't at all be upset if I were wrong on that last bit though.
