Yeah after effects is cool. And the Twixtor plugin is like $300+

just got reply back from them, they give 20% off discount. I'll have to ask then what the diff is with their regular the pro line up since it's almost double the cost, and see how many computers I can install the addon using their serial (if they have one, would be stupid if they didn't). Looks like it can be shot with 30fps and bumped down too since I was thinking if I had 60fps I would be in a much better position with their tool.I just like the idea of pulling an Assassins Creed stop motion effect for any video captured... Just so cool.

Just shot a few friends from my motorcycle club. Half of them were on their period or something because they were bitching about getting their picture taken and opted out. I've threaten to use the ghost busters ring flash rig at the most inappropriate times to capture something embarrassing and paparazzi like as their roster profile picture.Faces behind the BikesSimple setup, just one medium softbox left of camera about 3 feet away. Metered at 1/200th, f/11 @ ISO50. Shot on 5DmkII + 70-200 2.8 IS on location around sunset. No backdrop was used, very minimal post process (exposure correction, contrast, b&w conversion, minor dodging).[Edited on September 24, 2010 at 11:52 AM. Reason : setup]

no editing whatsoeverand then some HDR pictures...my first ones, so they're not very good (and i'm aware of how "we" feel about HDR...i just thought it would be fun)...these aren't the best pictures from my honeymoon, just a couple i remembered to do bracketing of and what i chose to do rather than sort through the ~6000 we took [Edited on September 25, 2010 at 10:01 PM. Reason : HDR]

i just picked up a lowepro primus AW backpack, which is nearly perfect...my complaints lie in that the quick-access side "door" is too small to easily allow for EASY access to the D90 with a battery grip (not to say i can't get it out...it's just barely big enough and i don't like the zippers scraping against the camera all the time)...also, the front "pocket" is really more of a sack...you can throw a jacket or sweatshirt or something in there, but otherwise it's wasted spaceanyone use or have experience with an SLR backpack (one that works as a daypack as well as a camera bag)...i like the way the kata 103 is set up, but it's not really good for much other than hauling camera equipment (and i don't have enough lenses to make it worth the style)
9/27/2010 2:35:54 PM
I have the thinktank airport accelerator, it's kind of ugly but you can fit a shit ton of gear in it and use it as a carry on without it taking much space. Kind of wished I spend the money on a roller case version and a decent pelican. In terms of a daypack, you really can't go wrong with lowepro packs. Plenty of friends use the national geo camera backpack, a little pricey for what you get in my opinion, but it's pretty nice and stylish.

so...to be honest, i rarely use any lens but the D90 kit (18-105mm AF-S VR) these days...there generally isn't any reason to do otherwise (for me)that said, i'm thinking about picking up the 18-200mm AF-S VR lens (D200 kit) and selling everything but my 50mm f/1.4 because that's all i really want...maybe a 12-24mm one day, but not right now...the 70-300mm isn't anything special and so i think 200 will be good enoughanyway, any good reason not to do this? any better all-purpose lenses out there? what do you think the 18-200 is worth?[Edited on September 28, 2010 at 2:07 PM. Shot in the dark here, but is anyone willing to let me borrow a Canon telephoto for this weekend? I'm going to the march in Washington DC and want something with more reach than my 24-70. Was going to do a weekend rent through southeastern, but their 9:00-12:00 drop off period on Monday is going to be rough.
9/28/2010 2:25:02 PM
if you are happy with the image quality of the kit lens from your nikon, an 18-200 would be a good lens. Mind you they are still a pretty penny about being what 400-600, for a consumer level lens, it's pretty pricey, but it lets you have an 'all-in-one' lens, nice for travel shots. Although, it's a little slow, but you'll probably be taking shots during the day outside anyhow. Personally, I'd spend that 400-600 bucks on a decent quality glass zoom that fits your shooting style more than having such a broad super zoom lens. It's like cutting with a surgical knife or a machete, sure they both can cut, but one can do it better and more accurately then hack and slash.

I had a bunch of these from Hopscotch that I didn't post because of the redundancy, but others seemed to like them.

Faces. Get more faces, less backs of heads. Crop (or shoot) tighter.
10/3/2010 1:17:33 PM
Will have to crop. At 70mm I felt like I was right up on people as it was.
10/3/2010 1:51:06 PM
I'm sure many people at that thing would not mind you being up in their grill.
