Staying home flattens and elongates the curve. Going out increases the amplitude. If you want to make that haircut, become a super spreader

Cases isn't the same as actively positive, right? Some of those initial cases would have recovered or expired, meaning the confirmed cases and active spreaders vary.

Even so, that means ~1.5% of the US will have had it near the end of this month. That's horrible but certainly not as bad as it could be.

So in order to stay at the “only 100,000” deaths level we have to have nationwide social distancing until June

I posted this on the previous page, or maybe the page before it:

Hell is Coming: Here is the Mathematical Proof
https://www.insidermonkey.com/blog/hell-is-coming-here-is-the-mathematical-proof-822824/

Quote :
"Except a few educated people, no one has any idea that there are already around 2 million infected people in America today and the American death toll will exceed 15,000 in just 24 days. If we don’t take strict measures, we will be reporting 1000 deaths per day in just 3 weeks.

The attacks on 9/11 killed around 3000 people. We will be reporting a 9/11 every three days. That’s why we say “hell is coming”.

This is a mathematical certainty. It is inevitable."

The article is from March 20, so he predicted 1,000 deaths/day for April 10, but it happened yesterday.

1,049 people died from COVID-19 in the USA yesterday.

He has also predicted the following cumulative death tolls for the USA: (currently 5,112)

12,800: April 7
> 15,000: April 13

Plus he made the comparison to 9/11, and sure enough, many such comparisons have been made in the past couple of days as the total death toll has surpassed that of 9/11.

But yeah, if you haven't read that link yet, read it.

1,355 deaths in France today.

US deaths, currently 706, will come close to that, maybe even surpass that value, by the end of the day.

I too hope we don’t see many infections in those areas.

Somebody else already pointed out that people in those areas need to drive >2 miles for food. And because those areas are heavily rural, that probably means there’s likely a decent amount of agriculture and agribusiness in those areas. Which would be deemed essential (a lot of probably unnecessary stuff has that designation as well) and those folks kinda need to keep working. Also I think about the local economy where I live. Lots of ag, construction, and all the trades and businesses that are necessary to keep those industries alive. I’m not saying everybody on the roads are farmers or anything. I see tons of people out and about that probably shouldn’t be. But a lot of the people in my area can’t work from home due to their job. They have to travel to job sites or to farms or wherever.

[Edited on April 2, 2020 at 6:34 PM. Reason : You can’t ban travel of >2 miles in those areas is what I’m saying. ]

They aren't even all rural areas. There's plenty of suburban areas where the nearest grocery store is 5+ miles away. It's silly to have a map of when people stopped traveling 2 miles, because people need food.

People in LA keep more than 6 feet walking on the side walk. When running in the morning people run out into the street to avoid passing someone on the side walk in open air. Grocery stores allow just a few people in at a time, lines are six feet apart inside and outside.

My house, which has bumper to bumper traffic at rush hour barely has car all day. I can back out of my driveway at 5pm without looking--something impossible 3 weeks ago even at 9pm.

Received this about France, which makes sense as other than yesterday (1,355 deaths) they have been having 400-500 deaths daily. But instead of adding all those deaths to one day, they should have retroactively added them to the respective days when they occurred.

Quote :
"NOTE ON FRANCE DATA:

On April 2, France reported 884 additional deaths that have occurred in nursing homes over the past days and weeks [source]. The French Government did not include these deaths in their official count, as their count only takes into consideration deaths of hospitalized patients. Following international standards of correct inclusion, our statistics will include these deaths, and will add them to the April 2, 2020 count following the attribution criteria of date of report."

It's a ghost town in West LA and our beaches. I'm sure selectively you can still find people licking cereal boxes anywhere.

Saw this on Facebook today from someone I used to work with:
Quote :
" The corona Virus is very real but what if it was covering up something bigger to keep us distracted...

The Corona virus is a huge cover up for the United States military cleaning up the globe... They don't want you to know how many drug cartel traffickers and how many politicians and Hollywood elites are getting arrested right now and how many children they are saving from underground tunnels and taking on to those naval vessels...Trump was literally put in office to clean up the demons and no one could see it! If the q countdown is right it will be around april 10th when all the big arrest start...I hope they one day allow the general public to know what really happened!

“THE CHILDREN ARE OFFICIALLY BEING SAVED AND BROUGHT ONTO THE BOATS??????..
I WONDER WHEN THE ENDICTMENTS WILL START????????????????”"

If it were covering up anything, which it isn't, it would be the shitshow that is the democratic primary. Talk about stealing some headlines.

But alas, it's scary that people actually believe things like ^.

Given the recent CDC recommendation that people wear face masks when in public, would Buff headwear make sense to wear over my nose and mouth? The headwear that I have is made of polyester, but I've noticed that most homemade face mask instructions call for cotton material.

it's actually a conspiracy by the global elites to distract us from the asteroid that's about to smash into Earth, so they can escape to Mars on their Elon Musk-mobiles while nobody's paying attention. Except for me. I paid attention.

Well since Boris Johnson is actually a reptilian from Saturn there's no way he'd actually be at a hospital, so you know this just means all the elites are going to start suddenly going into "isolation" and before we know it they'll all have escaped while we get stegasaurused

or this virus can jump species, which is why all our reptilian overlords are pushing quarantine so hard.
