So 538 essentially has Chelsea beating us. We'll see.

You mean in the standings or head to head? If standings they do, but so do you. Head to head they have as a coin flip.

I don't know how Barca usually fair away from home other than their results but we had them under the kosh for 15-20 min spells in both halfs but couldn't find the final pass. I put the blame on this squarely on Pogba and Ashley Young wasting possession. Pogba is not a game changer its starting to look like. He is great to have when your squad is already very good and he then makes everything better but as someone who can dictate a match he disappears. Which is ridiculous because he markets himself like a world class player but I have rarely seen this ability against the big teams. Man City away with the 3-2 comeback last year is the only real time I can think he influenced a result directly. Ashley Young should never start a game again, seriously Ole needs to put the kids in at this point they can't be worse. That said if we play like we did for certain spells yesterday we should finish top 4. McTominay and Fred were brilliant. They really should be the starters moving forward. I am ok with Herrera not playing moving forward and Matic is depth at best. I wouldn't be opposed to selling Pogba for 170 mil plus. That money can be used to make our team better overall. We really need to stop signing galcticos. I really hope Ole prioritizes young hard working players who can grow into the team.
4/11/2019 11:26:29 AM
Honestly, I don't disagree with anything you said there. I was just telling a coworker today about how I never feel like Pobga is going to take over a game like the true world class players do. It's not directly the same because Coutinho single-handedly won us games quite a few times but the feeling of "if we sell him for crazy money, it will be a good thing in the long run" is definitely similar to if United sells Pogba. I was also confident on Liverpool's recruitment policies and the Klopp/Edwards track record though. I'd be a bit nervous for what United would do. I mean, if you sell Pogba and get Bale in return, that's no good. Would be lolzy though.
4/11/2019 12:36:53 PM
^^ Solid thoughts, and I wholeheartedly agree about Ashley Young. He might be one of my least favorite players on any team ever.
4/11/2019 1:43:37 PM
jesus christ I shudder at the thought of having two geriatric overpaid wingers. One is enough lmao. United is faffing about still in hiring a director of football. Our recruitment policy is all so scrambled in my opinion. We rely on managers to dictate recruiting and I can't say we haven't spend money because we have but modern managers are judged on immediate results so they are never going to plan for long term sustainability of a squad. Ole is the right man in my opinion. We need to give him time instead of spending boatloads on players who don't fit and then canning the manager for it. We should have a proper recruitment strategy and establish a team instead of individuals. Keep DDG, add RB, RW, CB and potentially two midfielders if Pogba is sold. This needs to be our priority. We should also at this point cut our losses on Sanchez and buy him out. He is just killing our wage structure.
4/11/2019 1:47:10 PM
The Pogba things was pretty apparent from the start outside of Man U and their fans. The whole story around him for an entire year after the transfer was that he couldn't play in a midfield two, and to "unlock" Pogba he had to play in a 3 with two other guys who essentially are there cover all his responsibilities and give him a pretty free role.So if he didn't have the entire team set up around him he was pretty average and played like. He's a good player but a luxury and not somebody ready to carry the load like United expected.
4/11/2019 1:51:39 PM
Nice Chelsea and Arsenal look to be in a strong position to advance to the semis. Hoping for that Europa distraction making them tired and dropping points in the league.
4/11/2019 4:59:10 PM
Anyone had experience trying to get tickets to an FA cup final? From looking around, it seems unlikely for a non-season ticket holder, but in London that week and tickets go on sale next week.Google tells me 28k allotted for each team. I imagine the Watford allotment will be spoken for immediately.
4/12/2019 10:31:43 AM
register with the club and cross your fingers. Some ppl can get lucky. Third party tickets are going to be astronomical. Check the club message boards/facebook for ticket exchange threads. This is generally more reliable but you may need to meet in person.
4/12/2019 12:33:15 PM
sure City will have tons of tickets available
4/12/2019 1:21:31 PM
We committed highway robbery today. Honestly the performance was embarrassing. Players were simply not arsed enough and we made West Ham look like fucking Barcelona. If VAR was active we’d have zero goals today. Lucky to get three points and we got away with that one. I am glad Ole agrees because he said the same. Can’t be playing like that if we want CL football next year. Pathetic bunch of players we have in my opinion. Most of them are lucky to wear a united shirt because I don’t think a lot of them would under Sir Alex.

I like our midfield three today of Keita, Fabinho, Henderson. That's what I run centrally in FIFA. Also, I'm glad Klopp isn't getting fancy stupid and leaving his best players on the bench in big games as Pep occasionally does.

Holy shit what a fucking rocket from Salah.

Well that went as expected, able to absorb for a half but no way that would last the whole game.
4/15/2019 8:36:28 AM
looking more and more likely pool will win out and with City still to play tottenham and united it could be pool's year finally. Would be funny though if Rafa ends up costing them the league at Tyneside.
4/15/2019 9:36:23 AM
Arsenal a bunch of lucky bastards going to pick up 3 points today. Terrible referring and important for the top 4 race. Need to win Everton now.
4/15/2019 3:14:26 PM
looked like a clear red to me
4/15/2019 3:57:43 PM
I have seen them given and not given, but Deeney has reputation so he will never get the benefit of the doubt. Plus Torreira went to the Suarez school of flopping.

Ideally we pick up all 15 points but I don't see it happening. I don't even think we will pick up 12 more. Likely looking at 9 or 10 points more for us which is definitely not enough for top 4. Even with 12 more points it may not be enough due to GD. I think Tottenham all but have 3rd place in the bag unless they collapse again. Outside of City though all of their matches are winnable. So really it comes down to Arsenal or United with Chelsea having an outside shot. United really needed at least a point at Watford but should have bagged 3 that day. Really don't want Europa football next season.

4/16/2019 10:06:03 AM
lol. Sir Alex said pool would win the title because United would get something off city. Wouldn't put it past the players. Honestly if it helps us finish top 4 sure I will take it but if we still finish 5th and you lot win the title it would just be a shit season. To make it worse you fuckers and City can still also win the CL. Ole please deliver your black magic again today lol.

Sad article about racism in English soccerhttps://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/apr/12/racism-english-football-parks-premier-league-special-investigation

Seriously I think part of the issue is the fan culture around football. There are constant chants, insults and rivals having a go at each other. Add in beer and a bunch of people who are pissed their team lost the match. It is an issue we need to tackle. I myself have said some questionable things of Italians after England got dumped in the WC. Its easy to fall into the trap but people need to stop being assholes.[Edited on April 16, 2019 at 12:02 PM. Reason : a]

The closeness of the fans doesn't help either, the NBA has more problems than the NFL bc fans can actually make personal contact with players. I think the NBA let's players "warn" a fan, then get kicked out if it keeps going.

4/16/2019 4:25:24 PM
Focusing on the game important for English soccer, Cardiff winning prob reduces the chance that they just lay down this weekend. Will feel they are still alive to fight relegation at home.
4/16/2019 4:27:53 PM
On paper we should be getting beat by Man City over 2 legs so I refuse to get my hopes up about today. We're going to need to set up in a way that can relieve some pressure when we recover the ball, but I don't know if that means Fernando being a target man and Lucas missing out, or Son as the false nine and we counter at pace. I guess that's why Poch gets paid the big bucks to figure that out. You could make a case for either. This match is really all about Alderweireld and Vertonghen though. If both come to play tonight we'll be tough to break down, and one goal would allow them to control things.Heart in throat time about 3pm.
4/17/2019 8:03:59 AM
This Barcelona team is very beatable in my opinion. We literally gifted them 3 out of the 4 goals which is annoying as hell. Liverpool have a very good chance at the double and I am not trying to reverse jinx it, I truly believe it has a strong possibility of happening. I guess we (United fans) will feel how they felt in 08/09.Ashley Young was the biggest mistake Ole made. I don't understand why Darmian and Dalot weren't given the shot after Young continues to have brain fart after brain fart. Literally should never start a game again and I can't believe he has the captains armband to boot. Just highlights the massive rebuild on his hands. The problem is I don't trust our board or backroom to actually handle that part well and there is absolutely no sign of progress on a DOF. Ed Woodward is running the club into the ground on the football side of things and no matter who the manager is it will never change IMO. Just look at Ajax, we were in the Europa final together 2 years ago and now they are in a CL semi final. Ole needs to start playing the young kids because so far he has only talked about it.
4/17/2019 9:59:02 AM
Well what a start this is. Insanity that Spurs and City scored right after one another and all within 11 min. Insanity.
4/17/2019 3:26:04 PM
Whats the aggregate on that game?
4/17/2019 4:05:25 PM
4-4 aggregate now after Spurs just scored, with the ref just having to review the goal on VAR. Spurs have the advantage as they have conceded 0 goals at home. This game is taking years off my life.
4/17/2019 4:37:11 PM
Yep watching now, as Liverpool have this one.
4/17/2019 4:41:07 PM
Spursssssssy
4/17/2019 4:52:44 PM
Wait lmao VAR !!! Go Spurs
4/17/2019 4:53:22 PM
OMG DISALLOWED
4/17/2019 4:54:01 PM
Fuck Pep. That was hilarious.
4/17/2019 4:58:05 PM
OMG
Dear Manchester City: Get Fucked
4/17/2019 4:58:42 PM
incredible. Best match of the year for sure. What drama what scenes. Then I sadly realize how far away from this level United actually is these days. At least spurs stopped the quadruple and treble from happening so thanks for that. Now if Barca can dump Liverpool that'd be great. lol[Edited on April 17, 2019 at 5:01 PM. Reason : a]
4/17/2019 5:01:14 PM
That was the shit. Bonus points for ending quadruple talk.
4/17/2019 5:28:59 PM
So downside now is that going into next game, Spurs will be without Kane or Son.
4/17/2019 6:07:20 PM
Best front 3 and best defender!! Bring on MessiAlso did son get hurt or he's yellow carded out next match?
4/17/2019 8:21:48 PM
Been on cloud nine since the match. I was pretty much beside myself for 90 minutes and then the VAR in injury time nearly ended my life. Soccer really and truly is the greatest. Bring on the semis.Another big ask in taking on this Ajax team that is shredding people at the moment, but hopefully Poch can come up with something. Up the fucking Spurs.[Edited on April 17, 2019 at 9:29 PM. Reason : COYS]
