wouldn't you rather be in front of a jury than in a pine box?
11/4/2012 7:53:26 PM
If I was in that situation I just wouldn't say a damn thing to anyone until I talked to my attorney
11/4/2012 7:55:35 PM
I'm not saying I'd be thinking about due process while I'm flinging lead his direction, I'm just curious as to legal precedent. I've just heard so many times that shooting someone in the back is a ticket to prison no matter what, but I would like to believe it's not so rigid as to preclude logic
11/4/2012 7:56:00 PM
When I was a kid a guy shot a high school student who was trying to rob his house, kid was even running away and he was never charged
11/4/2012 7:58:03 PM
11/4/2012 8:11:06 PM
where does 'the fuzz' come from
11/4/2012 8:13:47 PM
Not really sure; the new term is "bitches"
11/4/2012 8:19:50 PM
11/4/2012 8:27:18 PM
why arent you a cop anymorewhat are you going to be nowcan we ask you questions about that job instead
11/4/2012 8:27:24 PM
I will be a LEO, just not in the traditional sense of riding around in a patrol car. I start next week but not sure when they plan on swearing me in.[Edited on November 4, 2012 at 8:42 PM. Reason : Time for bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be slow - its been cray cray here. ]
11/4/2012 8:34:31 PM
congrats!!
11/4/2012 9:34:48 PM
explain "sight and tone" as that sounds like a BS way to say, "I don't know who's speeding, I just pick randomly."
11/5/2012 9:02:53 AM
A RADAR is used to corroborate an officers opinion that a vehicle is speeding. First you must visual estimate the speed of the vehicle. Then turn on your unit and listen to the tone which does two things: 1) the tone sounds different as speed increases and you get to the point where you can recognize what tone is emitted at what MPH 2) it lets you know that the radar is locked on the target you are looking out. If there are bunch of cars in the group, the tone won't be constant and it will change rapidly because its bouncing of one car to the other.
11/5/2012 9:43:59 AM
so is singling one driver out of a group just a crapshoot then?
11/5/2012 12:39:52 PM
In a nutshell
11/5/2012 7:28:10 PM
No more badge, no more gun; turned in everything early.
11/8/2012 3:49:16 PM
how fast does your new ride go?[Edited on November 8, 2012 at 3:52 PM. Reason : a]

Bump. Hopefully next week I will again be qualified to respond to the questions in this thread.
11/18/2012 1:27:07 AM
Im still qualified
11/18/2012 3:06:29 AM
Is this considered a concealed weapon? (assuming I'm in the drivers' seat)
11/18/2012 11:46:07 AM
Almost definitely, but I'm not a copWhat holster is that, I really like that. Mine is beside the seat, it take me too long to get out.

11/29/2012 7:35:08 PM

11/29/2012 7:36:28 PM
Have you ever punished someone for being a dick while being arrested by taking the long way back to the precinct, and farting A LOT with the windows rolled up?
11/29/2012 7:40:46 PM
my wife's '06 acura has a 6 disc in-dash cd changer, a tape deck, and no aux input jack
11/29/2012 7:42:25 PM
^my mom's 03 TL has that too. no tape though (i don't think). i hate driving it. though i can't stand driving anything that doesn't have SiriusXM
11/29/2012 9:25:30 PM
to cops:have you ever retrieved a car's EDR, or the data from it after an accident? Is there a standard procedure for it?Is there any risk that it won't retain the data if action isn't taken quickly?
12/8/2012 3:06:51 PM
It's going to be a no, no, not sure
12/8/2012 3:43:37 PM
^. Last time I read a report from one, they had to pay a third party engineering firm to interpret all the data.
12/8/2012 6:02:02 PM
So lets say somebody mistook their court date and didn't appear.. What would the correct course of action be and what could the penalties be?
12/16/2012 10:19:09 PM
^I did that once & went to court the next chance I had (2-3 days later). They just gave me a continuance[Edited on December 16, 2012 at 10:22 PM. Reason : was in guilford county, not sure if it's different in wake]
12/16/2012 10:21:57 PM
why do police set up speed traps on the highway instead of in neighborhoods?most accidents occur five minutes to and from home.
12/16/2012 10:30:03 PM
Because accidents at 80 miles per hour are 10 times as dangerous as accidents at 35 miles per hour? Don't troll
12/16/2012 11:04:41 PM
As if speed traps are about safety.
12/17/2012 8:43:46 AM

12/30/2012 11:28:10 PM
Moonshine, whats the statute on it and have you received any training in finding stills being in an urban environment rather than in the mountains?
12/31/2012 12:17:52 AM
interesting questiondo the police in the mountains receive training on finding moonshine operations?is that a thing?
12/31/2012 12:51:09 AM
Have you ever arrested someone for shining a green laser into someone else's eye?hurts like a mofo
12/31/2012 12:52:19 AM

12/31/2012 6:21:42 PM
How often are you corrected on a law by a citizen when you try to enforce something you've been misinformed about?
