Fuck North Carolina
5/8/2012 8:22:02 PM
This is sincerely disappointing. I love North Carolina, but this makes me want to relocate.
5/8/2012 8:22:13 PM
hopefully, since only 5 have reported 100% there is still a chance this doesnt pass

Yeah. I am glad I will be getting out of this Bible belt state.Probably to a smaller, more Bible-hugging town ... but still. At least it will be different I guess.

WRAL is way behind - NC Board of Elections as of 8:24 Percent VotesFor 56.89% 412,661Against 43.11% 312,647

I too am disappointed in the policies the government keeps initiating. Fortunately, I won't suffer directly from this policy. My friends will though and that makes me angry.[Edited on May 8, 2012 at 8:25 PM. Reason : .]
5/8/2012 8:24:38 PM
what the fuck North Carolina??
5/8/2012 8:24:56 PM
I'm pretty sure this is going to be voted in. I voted against it, in fact, one of the few reasons I went to vote in a primary is to vote against it. I hope I'm wrong.

5/8/2012 8:25:18 PM
I don't trust the election results page.I will remain hopeful...Drink to celebrate. Drink to commiserate.

^One of my friends agrees in the seperation of state and church. However, he voted for the amendment. When I asked why, he replied, "Because it's my duty as a Christian to support my beliefs. It's in the Bible. Anything else is considered a sin."
5/8/2012 8:27:28 PM
Far more progressive states have similar amendments. I just can't stand this shit, though. Amendments are NOT intended to restrict the rights of a certain class of people who otherwise harm no one and nothing else... so ridiculous.
5/8/2012 8:27:29 PM
Fuck Jesus and most of his followers
5/8/2012 8:28:37 PM
Considering that only a very small percentage of the state's overall voting population will be the reason that passed, rwoody, I'm pretty sure I meant minority. You go back and check again for me though. Let me know.As with most primary elections, the fringe activist minority turns out to vote and elects more ideologically extreme candidates, or supports more ideologically extreme referendums, hence, tyranny of the minority which the rest of you are subject to in the general, or in this case, statutorily/constitutionally.[Edited on May 8, 2012 at 8:31 PM. 5/8/2012 8:29:15 PM
a lot of NC homosexuals are going to be disappointed tomorrow when they learn they can't marry each other. oh wait, that was already true...

5/8/2012 8:30:09 PM
Well if this shit passes, it will guarantee I will never return to live in NC, nor will I ever open a business in NC. I'll be sure to write some nice letters to the fuckwit Republican idiots that sponsored this shit.

Is anyone else feeling clinically depressed over this? I am. And I am not so sure I will be able to sleep tonight because I am kind of stuck in an endless loop of trying to make some shred of sense out of the arguments I'm hearing for the majority opinion here, and failing.

Getting mad at what other people do because it's against your religion is like getting mad at someone for eating cake because you're on a diet.
