StateCole, hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way. Especially when they are going to rely on Corey Maggette this year I think Larose is half good work ethic, and half being a benefactor of being on the top line. Still shouldn't be cracking the top 6, and on many teams he wouldn't even be thought of for the 3rd line.[Edited on December 3, 2011 at 5:53 PM. Reason : New page]

Holy crap. This is my first Muller-coached game that I'm watching. It's like a totally different team! So much focus on offense.FUN HOCKEY.
12/3/2011 7:35:39 PM
definitely much higher tempo to our offense with drive to the net. just hope bounces start falling.
12/3/2011 7:56:21 PM
what a game (so far)
12/3/2011 8:13:47 PM
Kaberle is just flat out detrimental to the team right now...
12/3/2011 9:02:35 PM
FUCK. terrible turn of events
12/3/2011 9:04:13 PM
hey look kaberle took a break from ruining the canes to ruin jordan staal's facefuck
12/3/2011 9:22:03 PM
jesus
12/3/2011 9:28:26 PM
fack
12/3/2011 9:32:32 PM
I think the next roadtrip will do this team some good. Bond with the new coaches. That being said, it's time to clean house. Got too many young guys that deserve to get an EXTENDED look with the big club.
12/3/2011 9:40:16 PM
yep, we'll be a Kohl's at the trade deadline
12/3/2011 9:47:07 PM
......
12/3/2011 9:50:15 PM
I would be totally okay with a complete rebuild. Let's commit to being shitty for just a few years, get Nail or Grigorenko, play the kids and come out of it with a competitive team while we still have Staal and Ward. This trying to make a run in February shit is getting old.[Edited on December 3, 2011 at 9:59 PM. Reason : but we can't really do that, we gots to fill some seats in a bad way]
12/3/2011 9:55:54 PM
yeah I had almost forgotten how much more entertaining the atmosphere is until tonight when it was actually full for the first fucking time since the first game[Edited on December 3, 2011 at 10:41 PM. Reason : gotta do SOMETHING to get bobby ryan]
12/3/2011 10:25:50 PM
Instead of Bobby Ryan, how about Jerome Iginla? Imagine this... (oh, this is definitely me being loco)Skinner, Staal, RuutuStewart, Sutter, IginlaPoni, Jokinen, DwyerTlusty, Brent, LaroseGleason, PitkanenAllen, FaulkMcBain, JoslinHarrison
12/5/2011 8:09:34 AM
so what would you give up for a 34 year old with only one more year on his contract (@ 7mil?)
12/5/2011 8:36:59 AM
Boychuk and Kaberle? Maybe a mid-rounder, also?See if Pimp Hand can get him to sign an extension? Be sure to keep the ( ) in mind
12/5/2011 8:43:47 AM
just checking
12/5/2011 9:56:43 AM
Maybe the new staff will encourage JR to spend some loot on some talent?
12/5/2011 10:04:33 AM
not sure it's JR they need to convince, probably Karmanos.[Edited on December 5, 2011 at 10:22 AM. Reason : cleaning house and stockpiling draft picks is probably a safer bet]
12/5/2011 10:07:17 AM
Now I'm not entirely sure what kind of situation we are looking at as far as a deep draft goes this year, but I would probably be interested in trading away our "veteran players" this year for picks and prospects.Otherwise, we end up in the same situation we are in now.Now if something comes along and makes sense, then I'm all for it. Hurrying along a rebuild without sacrificing the future sounds great, but I would like to actually be in a REAL rebuild, not this crap we've been sold on the last two years.
12/5/2011 11:58:25 AM
If Iginla goes anywhere, it will be to a contender like with Ray Borque.
12/5/2011 12:54:53 PM
ESPN Rumors says that Ruutu has been on the trading block and that Detroit is interested. Also, does anyone know our draft picks for this year?[Edited on December 5, 2011 at 1:06 PM. Reason : -]
12/5/2011 1:00:04 PM
I believe we have 2 2nd round picks and 2 4th round picks... then 1 every other round.Ruutu should be no surprise since his contract is up at the end of the season. He is a fan favorite, so post that on the Canes facebook wall and see what happens. Then report back.Oh god, I just realized they have Patrick Eaves in Detroit. [Edited on December 5, 2011 at 1:52 PM. Reason : Detroit]
12/5/2011 1:44:54 PM
^^^this[Edited on December 5, 2011 at 1:45 PM. Reason : yeah]
12/5/2011 1:45:19 PM
^^ While we're at it, lets not forget where Ian White now plays...
12/5/2011 4:47:00 PM
I'm sure you have all seen Patrick O'Sullivan was put on waivers... headcase that guy is.His talent is wasting.
12/5/2011 4:50:26 PM
That dude couldn't even stay up with our shitty-ass team. He's done.
12/5/2011 5:25:31 PM
Why the hell would Jarome Iginla ever come here?EDIT: Oh, overlooked this (srsly)
12/5/2011 7:59:39 PM
2012/13 realignment official - our new "conference" is Carolina, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, NY Rangers, NY Islanders, New Jersey, and Washington.Pros: down to 1 home game against Buffalo per yearCons: pretty much everything else
12/5/2011 9:36:46 PM
12/5/2011 9:43:08 PM
Oh well.It was fun while it lasted, y'all.
12/5/2011 10:03:19 PM
thanks a fucking lot atlanta
12/5/2011 10:07:03 PM
On the bright side...if that new system were to start this season, we'd only be 7 points out of the playoff race instead of 9 like we are now. I think the new scheduling will also even out the division a bit more than people think, too.
12/5/2011 10:22:49 PM
so we're joining the Patrick Division
12/5/2011 10:34:51 PM
On the bright side, we'd still be a shitty hockey team with no confidence.
12/5/2011 10:37:44 PM
The NHLPA still has to vote, so there's an outside shot this doesn't stick? And these conferences will likely change in a few years anyways when Florida, Columbus and Phoenix are no longer around. Never mind this one[Edited on December 5, 2011 at 10:45 PM. Reason : Just answered]
12/5/2011 10:43:36 PM
^ if Phoenix moves to Quebec they can just switch them to the Adams Conference since the Smythe now has 8 and the Adams now has 7
12/5/2011 10:47:07 PM
Yea, that makes sense. Or a few years in the future Phoenix becomes Seattle or Kansas City, while Florida and Columbus become Hamilton and Quebec.
12/5/2011 10:50:15 PM
if Phoenix is moving it's this coming offseason
12/5/2011 10:52:20 PM
Agreed there. This will be interesting.
12/5/2011 10:55:53 PM
I suspect Phoenix will move to Seattle which means that division would be fine
12/6/2011 12:19:51 AM
didn't think Key Arena was ice rink-capable...
12/6/2011 12:25:19 AM
Seattle has been talking about building a new arena for a while now... and IIRC, the ownership group that wants to bring in hockey also wants to bring the NBA back. They can have the Bobcats.
12/6/2011 8:04:46 AM
12/6/2011 11:00:32 AM
I'll be your GPS because I am often helpful while also being annoying.
12/6/2011 11:14:35 AM
hahahaha ok that was pretty good
12/6/2011 1:26:01 PM
Boucher injured in practice yesterday. Mike Murphy recalled. Per Canes Twitter
12/6/2011 1:30:41 PM
so you guys probably saw this already, but apparently we offered Kaberle + a 2nd to CBJ for Brassard and were turned down.man Kaberle is going to be one hell of an albatross
12/6/2011 6:36:27 PM
Send him down to AHL?Honestly though, the way we're playing right now, a 2nd rounder from us is as good as a 1st round pick and as this year's draft is "supposed" to be deep, that says a lot about Kaberle.[Edited on December 6, 2011 at 7:37 PM. Reason : .]
