david comes to life is awesome. it's pretty amazing that fucked up is on the verge of being accessible to larger audiences while still retaining their signature sound.

this proper copy of the new MMJ (without the 8th track cut off) sounds much, much better.also, there are some studio covers of the new Buddy Holly tribute springing up --- the cover of Buddy Holly's "true love ways" is perfection by MMJof course, that's also my favorite BH song, so i'm a bit biased. 12 of the 19 covers are out there now.[Edited on May 26, 2011 at 8:43 PM. Haven't done much post-rock this year...but this beats the new This Will Destroy you, Jesu, and maybe Mogwai too...

Can someone please PM me the new rosebuds? I've already pre-ordered it on vinyl, and I'm also going to see them play with Bon Iver in July. So, it's not like I'm not throwing my money their way. Pretty please? I promise I won't tell[Edited on May 29, 2011 at 6:38 PM. Reason : tired of hearing people say how awesome it is without being able to listen myself]
5/29/2011 6:37:18 PM
^ haha saw you trolling the At Ease board for it as well. hear it, i would also like to.
5/30/2011 1:07:42 AM
atease pwns.
5/30/2011 2:52:38 AM
where do you all you hipsters discover your music from? I'm trying to find a new and good place/website to discover new music at.
5/30/2011 8:21:04 AM
^^^ haha, awesome. i also tried absolutepunk. No luck there either. There's no way that all the people who seem to be hoarding this album are "great friends" with the band. lame city^^ that it does^ ateaseweb.com, message board for general music, is a goldmine in terms of obtaining leaks, learning about new bands, etc. http://board.ateaseweb.com//index.php?showforum=44
5/30/2011 11:12:49 AM
^^what.cd is the best site, but you have to get an invite^whenever it leaks on to what.cd, i'll give you a link. deal? i (and i'm sure the others who have it) just don't feel comfortable sharing it unless it's properly leaked, know what i mean?
5/30/2011 6:47:38 PM
^ i definitely understand. i still feel the need to bitch about it, but i do understand
5/30/2011 7:19:56 PM

lolseven levels of hell
5/30/2011 7:53:37 PM
5/30/2011 8:00:58 PM
i just don't want to be the one responsible for the thing leaking, i don't see how that is stupidat this point, i'm fairly apathetic towards people illegally downloading music; it's just something that, at this point, is not going to be stopped. the dude says he already pre-ordered it and paid to see one of the band's shows, so i don't have a problem with sharing the album, i just don't wanna be the person somehow responsible for the album leaking. explain to me what your problem is with that, simonn and marko.[Edited on May 30, 2011 at 8:28 PM. because what the fuck is "properly" leaked? is my prediction for what is the source of their annoyance
5/30/2011 8:53:07 PM
there's a difference between a member of the band sending you the files in an email and grabbing it online because some kid in a record store got the promo and threw it on what.cd for 2 gigs of upload bounty. pretty sure that's all he meant by "properly leaked"dumb argument is dumb
5/30/2011 8:55:54 PM
people pissed that they can't get an album before the release date ITTwhat an era
5/30/2011 10:09:34 PM
Why do people like the Mumford and Sons?
5/30/2011 10:54:00 PM
digging this givers album, but npr just froze on my phone about 4 songs in while i was streaming it, so i'll have to restart

Pretty into the new Ford & Lopatin.
6/1/2011 11:54:53 AM
Eddie vedder's new solo album isn't bad. Better than the last 2-3 pearl jam albums, but i guess that's not saying much.

oh, yeah. i put together a cassette comp that'll be out next month hopefully. unreleased jams from americans in france, brain f, double negative, invisible hand, my mind, order, pc worship, shards, spider bags, super vacations and whatever brains. no online sales or lame shit like that, but all the bands will have copies for sale.
6/1/2011 12:30:37 PM

wow, "Go Ahead" might be song of the year. great record. there's a really touching dedication to brad cook on the back of the lp
6/2/2011 2:09:46 AM
definitely the best album opener i've heard in a while
6/2/2011 4:57:45 AM
that first verse hits where i livepretty much where everyone lives
6/2/2011 5:08:53 AM
Really like this record cant imagine making this album during/after you've gotten a divorce with the person you formed the band with.
6/2/2011 9:30:31 AM
Yeah, no kidding
6/2/2011 10:32:57 AM
I am also enjoying the Rosebuds album
6/2/2011 11:13:13 AM
Listened attentively to the rosebuds record three times in a row and had to stop myself from queuing it up for a fourth go round. It's a record that makes me want to break up with my girlfriend just so i can wallow in its beautiful heartbreak. It reminds me of For Emma, Forever Ago in the way it perfectly balances bleak sadness, heartfelt nostalgia, and hopeful resolve. Really well done.[Edited on June 3, 2011 at 1:12 AM. Reason : g]
6/3/2011 1:11:11 AM
I just spent two hours alternating between "Go Ahead" and "Worthwhile."
6/3/2011 1:12:57 AM
^ i like "worthwhile" a lot, but i feel like it should have been moved up in the track sequence -- "a story" flows right into "cover ears" so seamlessly, but i also don't think "cover ears" is much of a closer. "without a focus" is another early favorite of mine; that one really hits me.and, i completely understand folks not leaking it; i could've bugged any number of people i knew who had it, but i waited patiently until it was offered to me. i was given the last Love Language early and i didn't leak it to anyone. i would let people listen to it at my house, but i wouldn't burn it for them until it went onto the intertronz.i'm never going to be "that guy" who lets a local band's record leak. hell, even when i used to get promo copies left and right while writing reviews for bands i didn't know or had no vested interest in, i refrained from being the one who leaked it.[Edited on June 3, 2011 at 8:28 PM. 6/3/2011 9:10:53 PM
^^ i gotta disagree. i think 'worthwhile' is a perfect closing track. "and it all went by too soon" is a killer last line.
6/4/2011 12:39:49 AM
I just don't get it...
6/4/2011 11:28:46 AM
