did anyone watch the RDR short film that aired on Fox last night at midnight? It was directed by John Hillcoat (The Proposition). It's pretty cool, it basically encompasses the first portions of the game leading up to Fort Mercer.

I had five elk, seven or eight of whatever the last flower is, and had killed like 20 goddamn bears

I'm running to a flower when a fucking wolpfack attacks me, there were like 50 of the fuckers

I'm fighting them off, blasting brains n shit in dead eye when a fuckin bear sneaks up behind me and it's gameover

I got a few of my Elk by walking up the 'ramp' of logs by the lower cabin at Bearclaw Camp onto the top of the structure and pulling out the sniper rifle and being patient

I can never seem to get bears there though while I'm up on the house...bait will either attract boars or some other shit, never bears...they only show up when I'm on ground level and vulnerable

if you can hang around a cabin outside until a bear shows up, you can go in the cabin and the bear can't get in, but he'll still stand by the door standing up and shit and moaning

i was trying for a couple of the online achievements (make it across the map in one day and survive as most wanted for 10 minutes) and almost had both and some ass joins the session (everyone else was leaving me alone) and starts chasing me just to shoot me off my horse

then i was almost to the end, then the game locks up.

i've had a lot of random freezes lately, hope my 360 isn't trying to die.

I went after a guy for a $600 bounty and rode all the way up to the top of the big mountain, killed his buddies, lassoed the guy, and then got him almost all the way to Blackwater when a posse came after us and shot him dead on the back of my horse.

According to the Social Club site, it's not individual bounties that count toward 100%, but bounty locations. You have to do a bounty from Armadillo, Blackwater, Chuparosa, etc. I think that's how it works, at least.

have you already done the 'disarm 6 enemies without reloading or changing weapons' challenge? thats the last one i have, and its a pain in the ass

the last couple master hunter challenges are fun though...i didnt even really need to use bait on any of them...seems like the animals are right in the middle of text on the map for the region it says to find them in

dweedle, after you did the last mission, did you travel to Blackwater for the new Stranger mission? it only becomes available after completing the main storyline

i read somewhere that it's easy to do it at a gang hideout and as long as you do not holster the weapon by either running while aiming or tapping the aim button every few seconds or so before you put the weapon away

Yeah, I've done the treasure, sharpshooter and survivalist, all level 10.

For the six disarms, I went to Thieves' Landing with one of my pistols. Just draw on people until they draw on you and go into dead eye. If you keep running, you won't put away your weapon and accidentally reload. The saloon is a good place to start, just aim at some dude playing poker and they'll all stand and reach for their guns.

i got pretty close going down inside the mine, because the layout of the tunnels makes it so you never have to face more than a couple enemies at once...its still tricky though...sometimes when you disarm someone with a rifle, he'll pull out his pistol, and then another shot in his arm kills him

Oh, by the way, I got most of my plan from that video

But the way it ended up working for me was a bit different

Also, ever since getting to Blackwater (a long damn time ago), I haven't been able to use the safehouse at the saloon. The icon is green, indicating that it's mine, even though I never purchased it. Am I missing something or is the game bugging out on me? How do I clear my cache or whatever, I'm tired of running out of town to set up camp.

that's actually the "last" mission that i was talking about, since it gave that nice title screen after it was over

but now im doing the California stranger mission but have to dick around for a while before he shows up for part 2

Go to the dashboard, go to your harddrive, and then you should have some button about maintenance...it takes like 2 seconds to do...I will post when I get home since I can't remember the exact specifics

it basically clears out all of your downloaded patches, so you will get messages about games having updates, but it doesnt affect any saved game data, so you wont really be losing anything

its also a handy trick in case you play a game with a glitch that has been patched and you want to remove the patch and use the glitch

^gotcha...yeah i've been careful to not post any spoilers...california stranger is a pain in the ass though...when you Track that outfit, the purple circle in the west is massive...i think you have to save your game, then load your game, and then the circle will be much smaller and you can actually find him

looks like you already got it...but if anyone else gets the wagon or other glitch and wants to fix it:

1. Hit XBox button from dashboard
2. Go all the way to the right and then to System Settings
3. Go to Memory
4. Highlight your Hard Drive and press Y for options
5. Go to Clear System Cache

^when you restarted the game, did you re-download the patch/update? You should.

they say the Strangers and Challenges might not show up...cause I've done them all and it shows me as having done none...also it doesn't show my last 9 missions

my box froze 3 or 4 times yesterday playing the game.. 3 times in single player and one time in multiplayer i think. wonder what the deal is?

i did finally get the most wanted achievement... quite rewarding feeling, especially with the number of times other players have killed me before getting it.

also, is there any trick to getting the bounty missions to display? i have a feeling i'm going to be riding around with just those to finish to get 100%

What was awesome was last night when I captured some guy alive out in the middle of Tall Trees and put him on the back of my horse. When the first posse came after me I managed to kill all of them with my mauser pistol, though I had to wait until they were fairly close to get a clean shot due to all of the trees. In the melee I failed to notice the pack of bears that were surrounding me. As soon as I got my last shot off at the posse I got knocked off of my horse, which was killed along with my prisoner and we were all EATEN BY FUCKING BEARS.

Actually, that wasn't awesome at all.
