I don't know if many people have had it but fullsteam brewey in durham makes one of the best beers i've ever had. Its meant to be eaten with bbq and tastes like hickory smokeAlso, the beers stored in wiskey barrels is also amazing

9/23/2010 7:28:34 AM
Yeah harvest time is in stores around raleigh but seems to be selling out quite fast. If you like big boss I suggest this beer as well, it is delicious....

The barrel-aged Yeti is on sale (limited to 470 bottles, 2 per person)http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/great-divide-barrel-aged-yeti/93977/
9/23/2010 12:10:13 PM
Aren't the barrel aged GD beers like $30 a bottle? Way too much IMO, especially when you can get the oak aged varieties for $10
9/23/2010 12:16:03 PM
9/23/2010 12:17:03 PM
^^yes, $25/bottle, but i'm a big fan of Stranahans and it's just expensive because of the limited quantity.
9/23/2010 12:30:55 PM
Went to Whole Foods and Total Wine in Cary. Neither had Harvest time, so I got Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin instead
9/24/2010 3:43:14 AM

9/26/2010 3:59:03 AM
The Piraat was seriously tasty stuff. Def one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The Dogfish Punkin Ale is far and away the best Pumpkin/Fall seasonal I've ever had. Going back to my local shop to buy everything they've got.[Edited on September 26, 2010 at 8:29 PM. Reason : sizing]
9/26/2010 8:28:42 PM
I wasn't that impressed with the Dogfish Head Punk! this year. I'm currently sipping on the Heavy Seas Greater Pumpkin (aged in bourbon barrels), and it's amazing!
9/26/2010 8:33:37 PM
^I seent that at the beer store and thought about purchasing it, but declined because I wasn't a big fan of their regular pumpkin beer...might have to reconsider.Currently enjoying a

thinking about hitting up the teet for a fosters.A proper way to reign in the work week
9/26/2010 8:46:30 PM
lol, who drinks fosters?
9/26/2010 8:49:17 PM
^^^it's a lot better than their regular "great pumpkin." I was also disappointed with that one, but Heavy Seas usually makes good stuff, so I gave this one a shot... glad i did.
9/26/2010 8:51:49 PM
I did see the heavy seas at my local. I'll have to check it out.-BigT716[Edited on September 26, 2010 at 8:57 PM. Reason : author]

Had my first taste of octoberfest sam adams of the year. Man that's good stuff
10/6/2010 3:12:00 PM
Yanks start their first playoff game tonight. I can't think of a better way to start this off than with a nice tall bottle of Ommegang Hennepin by my side...
10/6/2010 3:57:19 PM
^ the last ommegang i had was a sour. it was my first sour, and will be my last. can't go wrong with the majority of their offerings though.just hada little too sweet. felt like i was drinking grape juice. good, but not my cup of tea.
10/6/2010 4:46:29 PM
Enjoyed these last night. The Baltic Porter had a great smokey-meaty nose, but seemed flat out of the keg. Bottle may be better. The nose had a jerky flavor but that didn't impose on the taste at all. A tad more carbonation and it would have been great. The san diego session ale is a low ABV IPA and was very refreshing. Definitely a drinkable IPA with a fresh nose and smooth finish
10/7/2010 10:38:31 AM
Yeah, the collaboration IPA was really good. I think I posted about it last page. Fantastic taste and certainly tasted like a higher % beer.
10/7/2010 10:40:29 AM
Tried the Bruery - Autumn Maple last night... pretty tasty
10/7/2010 10:40:59 AM
^what did you pay for that? FS had it marked up like crazy
10/7/2010 10:54:25 AM
$0.00
