when we going fishing?also have you heard that kentucky fired chicken is the best catfish bait?
8/16/2009 10:42:25 PM
whenever dude. we can take the canoe out on lake raleigh sometime if you wanna. i'll give you a holler next time i'm looking someone to go with me.goldfish are my favorite catfish bait.
8/16/2009 10:44:34 PM
really?just seems to me that things like goldfish and kfc would be snatched off the hook fairly easily
8/16/2009 10:45:39 PM
i don't know about fried chicken. i've caught catfish on old hotdogs my mom was gonna throw out. i've also caught them on chicken livers, but those don't stay on the hook well. goldfish stay on pretty good if you hook them properly.[Edited on August 16, 2009 at 10:47 PM. Reason : i'm talking about live goldfish, not the crackers]
8/16/2009 10:47:03 PM
hahahaha ok, i thought the cracker
8/16/2009 10:47:45 PM

8/16/2009 10:56:39 PM
Have you ever seen a dog clean and gut a fish?
8/16/2009 10:56:58 PM
naw, but we used to have a cat that would eat whole fish heads when we were cleaning themi've seen a dog eat a fish too, but never just gut it. he ate the thing whole.
8/16/2009 10:57:42 PM
Next time I give my dog a fish I'll take a video of him eating it and show you. It's crazy...he bites off the head and throws it aside, then he takes out the innards and throws them aside, then he basically fillets it and eats the meat....it's amazing.
8/16/2009 10:59:32 PM
i swallowed a live fish once a tiny minnow at summer campit was from the neuse river sound eww dirty fisteria
8/16/2009 11:03:22 PM
tidal waters of the neuse where it meets the pamlico sound are pretty much just as clean/dirty as tidal waters anywhere. not really a big deal.
8/16/2009 11:05:55 PM
im PRETTY sure the neuse river is like the worst because of all the hog farmsi got out in some shallow waters there and it was like 92 degrees and all these dead fish started floating to the top. i saw their sores...then i had to wash my feet in bleach*PFIeSTERIA
8/16/2009 11:09:00 PM
yeah, it's gross. i would stay a long way away from it. never get near.
8/16/2009 11:12:24 PM
you dont have to take it personally
8/16/2009 11:13:25 PM
was sweet child of mine on the radio or cd player/ipod?
8/16/2009 11:13:51 PM
it was paradise city and it was on 96 rock i think. i rarely listen to anything other than the radio.[Edited on August 16, 2009 at 11:15 PM. Reason : ^^i didn't. i just don't mind the uninformed people. that river's too crowded as it is.]
8/16/2009 11:14:52 PM
i think i'm pretty informed because i'm speaking from a personal experiencei've never seen any fish with sores in the tar river, though i have seen like tires and stuff
8/16/2009 11:16:39 PM
yes, there is pfiesteria in the neuse and there are fish in there with sores
8/16/2009 11:17:25 PM
would you eat something youve caught out of the neuse river?we're going fishing there next, what dropping points do you like?
8/16/2009 11:17:29 PM
just dont eat the shellfish
8/16/2009 11:23:33 PM
whats your opinion of the last post in the tunnel thread?
8/16/2009 11:26:20 PM
caught in the neuse at goldsboro and baked by my granny. delicious:it's a rockfish. they do not remain in the neuse all year. they migrate up in there to spawn. i have caught a few fish from the neuse with sores, but never a rockfish. i'll eat other fish from the neuse that aren't migratory. various panfish, bass, etc. if i do catch one with sores, i throw it back. i don't eat catfish from the neuse or any body of water just because they're not worth the trouble of skinning and all that for the fairly low quality meat to me. the neuse river where it meets the sound and becomes brackish is a totally different story. i eat a lot of fish from down there. these are primarily saltwater species that must have some level of salinity higher than that found up-river in places like kinston and goldsboro to survive. speckled trout, flounder, and puppy drum, mainly. i eat all of these and they are great. examples:although i feel that my actions on the neuse put me at fairly low risk for pfiesteria (i don't swim in it, net in it, crab in it, or let my skin come in contact with the water that much), one day i might get pfiesteria and go batshit crazy. i don't really care. totally worth it to me.will you get pfiesteria if you work (netting, crabbing, etc.) in the waters of the neuse? maybe. probably not a good idea to ski, tube, wakeboard, swim, etc. in it either.the fact is the first thing that comes to mine when people hear "neuse" is "OMG PFIESTERIA FISH KILLS HOG SHIT NASTY NASTY NASTY" and i think that's sad. the neuse is a beautiful tributary and the fishermen, duck hunters, and paddlers of this state know it. everyone else is missing out.[Edited on August 16, 2009 at 11:29 PM. Reason : i don't know anything about the neuse around raleigh (or above wayne county, for that matter)]
8/16/2009 11:28:17 PM
so hog farms cause all of the pollution in the neuse?what is the black river's problem? it flows near a lot more hog farms
8/16/2009 11:28:50 PM
why am i always dehydrated, no matter how much water i drink?
8/16/2009 11:29:27 PM
^i think your question is better asked in another thread. not in my repertoire.^^i've given up arguing about the reason the neuse is dirty and/or catches a bad rap. quite frankly, i don't care what folks think of it. i want them to stay out of the neuse anyway.
8/16/2009 11:30:53 PM
hmpf
8/16/2009 11:31:44 PM
how do you know you're dehydrated?
8/16/2009 11:32:04 PM
8/16/2009 11:35:05 PM
whats your opinion of little debbie snacks?
8/16/2009 11:36:31 PM
chapped lips, painfully dry hands and feet, headache, dark pee[Edited on August 16, 2009 at 11:38 PM. Reason : oh and light headed when i stand up]
8/16/2009 11:36:32 PM
^^they'll make a turd. not really anything special. not filling. bad for you. i'd rather have an apple most of the time. i eat the shit out of some apples.^have you seen a doctor?
8/16/2009 11:37:59 PM
i've always had this problemevery time i went for physicals when i was younger, no one ever seemed to think it was a huge deal. i drink and drink and drink water...all that happens is i pee a lot.it's just worse this week, maybe because of the intense heat, who knows.[Edited on August 16, 2009 at 11:42 PM.
