we put money towards education and it doesnt seem to help...is it the kids? teachers? parents? school system?throwing money at a problem wont solve itthat includes throwing billions of tax dollars at "free" health care

9/4/2008 11:04:20 PM
haha, it's fucking healthcare man. how can you be against healthcare? I seriously don't get that. People can be so fucked up
9/4/2008 11:04:21 PM
i'll tell you what, mccain definitely got pumped up for the end of the speech...can't deny that...i honestly thought he would be kind of boring throughout but he stepped it up at the end
9/4/2008 11:04:26 PM
Hehe, if McCain won he would destroy the Republican party.
9/4/2008 11:04:29 PM
Bush admin has spent more money domestically than any other president and on education than any other president... but its still not enough for you kids. The end of that speech was good.
9/4/2008 11:04:53 PM

9/4/2008 11:06:13 PM

9/4/2008 11:06:19 PM
I was the nurse when you got your sex change done.
9/4/2008 11:06:25 PM
It is because healthcare is one the fastest ways to go through enormous amounts of money.
9/4/2008 11:06:34 PM
The best part of the speech was around where he said "I hate war!" Otherwise, he's not really that good of a speaker, and he looks really frail when he is isolated up there. The debates can't come fast enough for him.

Well, the Dems certainly throw a MUCH better party. Doesn't help me decide who I'm voting for tho.....neither did tonight....

The applause at the end drowned out his words, so he might as well have not been saying anything. He should have timed his rhythm better. (And his hand motions while he said that looked sad -- I'm not sure that most people know that is a direct result of the torture rather than old age)[Edited on September 4, 2008 at 11:10 PM. Yeah same here - no help in making a decision. Lots of good policy points in one the poorest delivered speeches I've heard.
9/4/2008 11:09:10 PM
The Republicans are toast. I like John McCain, but seriously, if the Republicans win this November, its because the Democrats blew their own feet off.

eye be serious if u think countries like canada and the ones in europe have worse doctors and healthcare than the US. A big reason why the quality of life in those countries is better than the US is the healthcare.

I tried watching McCain's speech, the only DNC or RNC anything I've seen (only heard all the MSM talking about it after the fact). And I have to say, I could only stomach about 10 minutes of him talking. The guy has no life. He isn't even the old riled up crazy uncle you were a little afraid of at family gatherings until your late teens, he's the old grandpa that sits in the corner and nods off after the tryptophan kicks in without ever uttering a peep to anyone.I can't get motivated to vote for a shell of a man like that. Wtf?

its cheaper to take a limo to the ER than an ambulanceand the limo has a much better bar
9/4/2008 11:14:12 PM
IIRC - a big part of the problem is that we are one of the only countries where the government does not negotiate the price of drugs from the drug companies. That puts in a position where we pay more than the rest of the world for our prescriptions, but at the same time we are neccessary for the drug companies - we are their profit margin.

9/4/2008 11:15:29 PM
Thank God he admitted that the GOP has been screwing up during the past 8 years. Seperating himself from their wasteful spending, corruption and left-wing ways will win over a lot of fence-sitting conservatives and independents.
9/4/2008 11:16:19 PM

^^^^^Being unhealthy in and of itself sucks regardless of whether you have healthcare or not. That's the motivation. In fact, people without healthcare have the worst health practices (imagine that).I'm going to go out on a limb and say that mccain draws even with obama in the polls again.[Edited on September 4, 2008 at 11:20 PM.
