so i just turned on espn and they were talking about how great nc state's 2008 recruitment is going and how TOB should have us competing for years to come
8/16/2007 3:55:34 PM
God I hope we get to consistent 8 win seasons. I want the opportunity to talk shit to UNC and be justified god damnit!
8/16/2007 4:03:40 PM
8/16/2007 7:55:50 PM
so they have us winning 2 fucking games? wow who the fuck picked those numbers?
8/16/2007 7:58:12 PM
is it possible to bet on those lines?
8/16/2007 8:35:51 PM
I like the idea of being underdogs but damn..
8/16/2007 8:52:13 PM
lol we're bigger underdogs at Wake than at Miami.....who the fuck is this?
8/16/2007 9:19:07 PM
http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/analysis_acc_ncst.htmlFrom page 16....this guy is an idiot.24 to Wake and 25 to BC? I would take those bets for Duke let alone us.
8/16/2007 9:22:58 PM
how about the 13 to ECJew
8/16/2007 9:54:54 PM
On the bright side ... Carolina appears to be shittier than us. On the not-so-bright side, that means they'll probably beat us.
8/16/2007 10:29:08 PM
show me where to put my money down on some wolves. no way we're 2-10
8/16/2007 11:13:23 PM
Here's a breakdown of the best Pro-Style Quarterbacks. Notice that the douchebag looking guy that committed to UNC isn't on there. Good info on Glennon and the other QBs. Looks like our QB struggles may end once he gets a year or so into the program.http://ncstate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=702914
8/17/2007 4:31:28 PM
There's a free highlight video on rivals of Glennon if anyone hasn't seen it http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/video.asp?&sid=880&vidtype=prospect&vidid=94325
8/17/2007 4:55:44 PM
Rivals updated their recruiting rankings. We dropped from 18 to 21, probably b/c a couple of teams got some commits.http://rivals100.rivals.com/teamrank.aspACC#4 FSU#5 Miami#16 Clemson#20 Viriginia Tech (imagine if Whitley would have come to the Pack)#21 State#22 Maryland#32 Georgia Tech#34 Virginia (tied with Tennessee currently)#37 Boston College (TOB is already seeing recruiting dividends in his first year away from BC)#45 Wake Forest#51 North Carolina (I guess we'll see if all that junk that Heels fans are spewing about Bitch Davis being a great closer is true or not; keep telling yourself that, the facts speak for themselves, 3 of the Top 100 nationally, Top 2 players in the state, top 2 LBs in the state, and 6 of the Top 30; looks like TOB will be running the state even moreso than the governor )#59 DukeWe should move up and possibly have a Top 15 class considering we are nowhere close to completing our class and a lot of the schools above us are near completion.
8/17/2007 9:25:17 PM
Apparently we now lead for in-state OL studs Andrew Wallace (3* OT) and RJ Mattes (4* OT). Wallace's father went to State and he grew up a State fan but UT has been pushing pretty hard. RJ Mattes has been considered a heavy Clemson lean (If I remember it right) for as long as I can remember but looks like things have changed. Its really going to depend on how seasons go for each respective team.
8/19/2007 2:56:40 PM
if we get Becton, Wallace, and Mattes that would be HUGE for our o-line recruting

8/20/2007 1:22:59 PM
i don't know about thatlet's go to Earl for an in-depth analysis
8/20/2007 1:34:03 PM
8/20/2007 5:16:28 PM
i'm not worried about all the media jazz surrounding the uncertainty on positions.if any of the coaches in the ACC have read Sun Tzu, its O'Brien.
8/20/2007 5:22:44 PM
^ah yes "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu (or Tzu Sun, since Chinese names are read last name then first). I work for a Ph.D whose last name is Sun and he told me how the Chinese military makes all of their generals and other high ranking officers read it. Many times our own military has officers read that book. Many business classes have it as required reading as well, since the same principles in the book can be applied to the business world as well. I hope Red Tom has read it and uses the principles on the football field and against Bitch Davis on the recruiting trail.
8/20/2007 5:31:43 PM
Although Sun Tzu is a smart read, I would expect TOB to know more about this guy:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_von_Clausewitz
8/20/2007 6:20:14 PM
Don't forget about this guy:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU
8/20/2007 7:04:27 PM
What a strategic placement of that video. You won this battle.BUT NOT THE WAR!!!
8/20/2007 7:50:53 PM
ahahaa Earl's recruiting map...to this day i still didnt know that south carolina touched florida....
8/20/2007 8:32:44 PM
there also is no Maryland. It goes Va, WV, Pa. No Delaware either.
8/20/2007 9:37:30 PM
Also Connecticut somehow incorporated Rhode Island into itself.
8/20/2007 9:46:21 PM
I heard that OL Mattes and Wallace will be at the UCF game. Gotta bring the noise and show them that State is the place to be if you want to play in front of the best football fans in NC.
8/20/2007 11:09:38 PM
Looks like we just landed an OL from Georgia, Zach Allan.Only one star as of now (hasn't been evaluated) but he was an all-state selection last year, and was MVP of the Nike Camp. So that's encouraging[Edited on August 23, 2007 at 8:52 AM. Reason : ]
8/23/2007 8:47:45 AM
^ Plus he is only 16 years old, a lot of time to coach him up.
8/23/2007 9:55:44 AM
6'3" 300 lbs and running a 4.98 forty... at 16 he was a Georgia 5A All-State selection and rated #1 at the Nike Camp in Athens. This kid spending 4 years under TOB & Co. has a really good chance of making the NFL. Probably the most under-the-radar player in the 2008 class.Zach Allen http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=3188844[Edited on August 23, 2007 at 10:04 AM. Reason : profile]

I dont question at ALL TOB's ability to see talent in a kid thats been unrated.I bet hes prolly a 3-4 star before all is said and done.I trust in TOB and think its a good pickup from what i have read. Looks like the eventual replacement for Crouch. He does well on pulls and screens where Crouch and most of our linemen lack skills.[Edited on August 23, 2007 at 10:20 AM. Reason : d]
8/23/2007 10:16:05 AM
kind of off topic, but the 1* lineman reminded me that sometimes it's fun to look back at the * rankings and such for guys from the past. I trust TOB too.one that comes to mind:1* TE Manny Lawsonhttp://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=13409
8/23/2007 2:14:54 PM
any news on Andrew Wallace and what kind of time frame we are looking at for him to commit?
8/23/2007 2:41:00 PM
^^^Your analysis of Curtis Crouch is way off.

Wallace to commit to NC STATEhttp://www.charlotte.com/sports_breaking/story/248579.html

8/23/2007 10:26:46 PM
^^Weird way to break commitment news, but I'll sure as hell take it. From the article ..."Andrew said he'll commit to N.C. State when he takes his first official visit for the Wolfpack's season-opener with Central Florida Sept. 1.Andrew likes the Wolfpack's recruiting class and believes new coach Tom O'Brien can win an ACC championship."

request student tickets is now open
8/24/2007 12:28:02 AM
^^^Wallace's commitment will more than likely come BEFORE the UCF game
8/24/2007 1:24:50 AM
They say it's official now. Wallace is committed.
8/24/2007 9:35:15 AM
yep, and he is a stud at OLMeasuring in at 6-5 and 260 pounds, Wallace ran an impressive 4.76-second 40-yard dash, had a 25-inch vertical jump and 4.79-second short shuttle.
8/24/2007 9:56:54 AM
This is awesome ... hopefully he can convince Mattes to commit during the UCF game!! That would give us a solid group of OL, in my opinion, assuming we get a few others to develop through the 4 years.Anyone else going to be attending (recruits)?
