12/11/2006 1:34:29 PM
hey i gotta be the first at something.howd the mount and camera do this session?
12/11/2006 1:45:24 PM
^freakin sweet...i picked up a camera before i went but i did use the mount. I'm definitly going to have to buy one....although the mount did fall during one session but thats cause i pulled a koroush and didn't mount it properly
12/11/2006 1:47:53 PM
haha, you know the cold weather plays a big role in it.thats why i took my heat gun (but never used it)... just to heat up the glass a bit.i mounted mine "right", but it was over the defrost lines and on a cold windshield
12/11/2006 1:53:51 PM
haha yeah thats what happened to me...it was fine all day then i moved it and the glass was too cold when i restuck it.
12/11/2006 2:33:23 PM
So urbody had a good time?
12/11/2006 2:38:44 PM
we sure did...I had coco's husband, phil...as my instructor and he was really cool/good. i enjoyed it and we all ran in the same run group. plus point by anywhere made it extra fun.

Callahan, have you looked at the I/O Port mount? It should fit a 1.75" bar.http://www.ioportracing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CM&Category_Code=IOPP
12/12/2006 8:12:41 PM
callahan, that'll be the most expensive thing on your car
12/12/2006 9:36:06 PM
^^ that does seem pricey for a camera mount, but that thing looks like it could survive a nuclear blast.^
12/13/2006 5:07:11 AM
Yo, who else will sign up to do timetrials with me at the Feb VIR Full THSCC event?
12/18/2006 4:18:07 PM

12/18/2006 6:23:50 PM
i might be in thoughfull course looks so fun[Edited on December 18, 2006 at 7:09 PM. Reason : do they loop into the patriot course for full ? or just go around the outer loop]
12/18/2006 7:09:09 PM
just the outer loop.
12/18/2006 7:50:19 PM
Maaaaaaaaaaaybeeee
12/18/2006 8:43:16 PM
I need not respond since my answer is always........I'm IN![Edited on December 18, 2006 at 9:20 PM. Reason : so i guess this means a transponder needs to be purchased before then?]
12/18/2006 9:20:37 PM
^ what group will you be in ?it was fun as hell keeping pace with you on the cherohala -- idk if I could do so on VIR
12/18/2006 9:32:08 PM
depends who with...PCA i'd be in White if its with NASA i think i'm going to sign up with HPDE 3 this time around. Never ran with tarheel so i don't know how they group thingsbut yeah, definitly come out to VIR, it will be fun!
12/18/2006 9:38:08 PM
AFAIK: youre gonna need a cage, (min. 4 point) to do time trials.
12/18/2006 9:43:35 PM
i might do it in my blue integra. but ima need to get some tires.
12/18/2006 9:46:15 PM
yeah i wont be doing time trialsjust the hpde runs, [Edited on December 18, 2006 at 9:50 PM. Reason : i just got some nice new summer tires on ]
12/18/2006 9:49:20 PM
you would need proof of intermediate/advance class sessions to run time trials.
12/18/2006 10:12:10 PM
no cage needed with NASA for TT.
12/19/2006 1:11:17 AM
My prediction - Gloveko will eventually wreck his car at one of these events.
12/19/2006 4:15:27 AM
yeah but this time trials is with thscc.. unless nasa has one the same day.well the crappy part is that VIR doesnt have time trials with nasa, and thats the closest any of us will get to TT license. unless you run another track like 40 times.[Edited on December 19, 2006 at 9:01 AM. Reason : ]

My gift, to you:AhmetPS: Mark, look at the side wall of your front left tire, and tell me you weren't over driving the car...[Edited on December 20, 2006 at 9:02 PM. Reason : In the last pic. you posted, w/the checkered flag.]
12/20/2006 8:54:49 PM
I'm not overdriving the car. I am over driving the tires. they aren't the best tire in the world. That will change come r-comps.actually when you look at the full size version it doesn't even have much roll over. [Edited on December 20, 2006 at 9:07 PM. Reason : fda]
12/20/2006 9:02:51 PM
how much does it cost to find a track that you can race a 98 honda accord onit sounds really fun
12/20/2006 9:12:40 PM
It costs nothing to use Google you fucking retard.
12/20/2006 10:01:54 PM
12/21/2006 12:30:24 AM
haha well i don't see what ahmet has a problem with, because my lines were excellent, the car wasn't riggling out of control, i was keeping up with if not passing pretty much most of the cars out there in my run group, i was progressivly getting faster with each session and lap. If thats 'overdriving' then i guess thats a good thing?
12/21/2006 1:24:10 AM
It wouldn't be the tires since you've got grip and the front right spring is under full load.I think ahmet's point is that the picture shows the majority of the weight of the car on the right side of the car with a bias of that to the front right suspension bits (weight transfer to front)MeaningYou were braking into the turn?[Edited on December 21, 2006 at 1:35 AM. Reason : I'm just guessing here!]
12/21/2006 1:32:07 AM
Oh Markus... You're fast, you seem to be fairly consistent. Nobody's arguing that. You're VERY fast for the experience you have. I just think that controlling your entry speeds (slower entry -->faster exit) would make you faster still, and safer. I won't bug you any more about it.Ahmet[Edited on December 21, 2006 at 2:32 AM. 12/21/2006 2:04:09 AM
if you didnt have all that ego in the trunk weighing your car down your tires wouldnt have a problem mark.
12/21/2006 2:13:25 AM
12/21/2006 4:13:52 AM
^^^he's young. he'll learn that with experience. he's still balls to the wall and the awd is allowing that.
12/21/2006 7:19:51 AM
I love all of you guys
12/21/2006 9:09:54 AM
haha...dude i'm not braking into the turns except trailbraking into 1 because it helps understeer and allows faster entry and faster exit speeds. Ego has nothing to do with it, if my instructors (who are the ones that don't know me and actually are the ones riding with me) say i'm doing a good job well then i'll let you 'old guys' call them liars. If you guys have a problem with my driving, simple enough, don't ride with me./discussion^^its funny because i'm older than pretty much everyone that goes tracking on here except rich and rex.when the time comes and i drive a spec miata or whatever...driving style will be completely different. Just because i have a evo doesn't mean i drive it like a miata. I don't lift, i don't brake mid turn, i'm fairly smooth in weight transfers, i know how to transfer the weight of the car properly. If i were in a rear wheel drive vechile i'd still have the concept but i wouldn't be able to enter into a turn as fast because i won't be understeering but oversteering.[Edited on December 21, 2006 at 10:42 AM.
