8/26/2009 9:21:00 PM
oops...busted. This has been discussed, it would have looked just fine any other color. It actually looked great in white. Thats allright though, nobody will notice the color once they see the blingarific machine work on the skid plate.
8/27/2009 6:05:11 PM
very VERY true, i will make it a point to show everyone
8/27/2009 6:14:57 PM

8/27/2009 6:46:05 PM
no, not at all.
8/27/2009 7:27:46 PM
^^more like a desert camo/sand type of color. dunno the actual name.
8/29/2009 6:52:19 PM
shetland beige, iirc.
8/29/2009 8:27:06 PM

you're right, CAT yellow is better than this color u chose.[Edited on September 2, 2009 at 10:41 AM. Reason : .]
9/2/2009 10:40:31 AM
we didn't pick the color, moron.
9/2/2009 3:58:59 PM
that is pretty apparent
9/2/2009 4:22:20 PM
that oshkosh truck does not have a cat yellow paint job, methinks.
9/2/2009 7:31:53 PM
the client picked the color, its an actual LR color from the mid eighties
9/3/2009 12:59:41 AM
what color were the trophy trucks of that vintage?
9/3/2009 8:05:28 AM
all camel trophy trucks were "sandglow"
9/4/2009 8:27:57 PM

9/8/2009 10:13:26 PM
Looks awesome Primer. You've def. got some manhours into that. Build me one next.
9/16/2009 6:32:52 AM
man, i still kinda have a boner for a Discovery. I'm just scared of the Land Rover ownership "experience".Joel, which years did you say are the least-bad to own? Somewhere around the mid-90s, I think.
9/16/2009 8:24:23 AM
finish that chevy truck first duke
9/16/2009 7:07:10 PM
working on it. got a call from loop road today with some sizes, so I'll be ordering all the engine goodies as soon as i get a chance.
9/16/2009 7:47:39 PM
'98 Disco was the best year for Disco I's, lowest production and they had worked out all the kinks by then. Good trucks and inexpensive to buy (perhaps not to own).
9/16/2009 9:05:27 PM
meh[Edited on September 16, 2009 at 9:05 PM. Reason : dp.]
99 had lower production I believe, anyhow the correct answer is ANY year D1 is the best to own, they are all really easy to work on. Actually the mid '97 and up trucks have more expensive fuel pumps, computers, etc
9/16/2009 11:05:20 PM
^^ I miss my 97 D-90.
9/17/2009 8:15:33 AM
How I miss the convenience, expertise, and pricing of loop road.
9/17/2009 8:29:55 AM
9/23/2009 9:27:25 AM
enough about the D90 for the moment-my truck is intact and better than ever, even cleaner than ever at the moment... who wants to wager on wether or not I will roll it this weekend?
9/28/2009 9:59:02 PM
Joel, if you run across anyone who needs one, I still have a D-90 hitch bumper.
9/28/2009 11:11:53 PM
you mean rear bumper?
9/29/2009 10:48:57 AM
Yep, rear bumper with the hitch
9/29/2009 10:57:14 AM
Do Disco 1s have traction control similar to that of a Disco 2?If so, I'm thinking out loud, here...would something like a Truetrac give offroad performance not far behind that of a locker, due to the fact that the traction control would brake any wheel that started spinning, causing the Truetrac to "lock" up"?
9/29/2009 11:01:18 PM
You dont need, or want any traction control, period unless you are using stock diffs- even then you are hoping its a good day and it wants to work properly.A D1 has no traction control, it has a locking center differential. A D1 with a rear locker will do just fine. Dont bother with a rear TT, just get a detroit.
9/29/2009 11:46:57 PM
i have some reservations about having a detroit locker in a daily driver
9/29/2009 11:57:15 PM
