^ I generally like to take students out in my car, and show them what they're doing wrong. It's a lot easier than words alone from the passenger seat. One of the drills we did (instructor clinic years ago with NASA) included telling somebody where to drive in an auto-x course while they wore a blindfold, and vice versa! -Of course that somebody was another instructor...

Anyway, all of this stuff is not only fun, but it'll teach even the most "oh I'm above average cause I drive like a jackass on the street" person quite a bit in short order. But, I can say this till I'm blue in the face, I think Golovko was the last person from TWW that I could get to actually go to a track event.

i'm down for going somewhere if we can come up with an area that's still well covered. probably would be better to wait until later on this evening/tonight when it starts to re freeze for a prime surface. i just got back from riding around for a while, and most of the parking lots i checked out had either already been plowed by private contractors or had gotten slushy enough that i was catching pavement hard mid drift.

^^ Dillard Dr. It's all worn out now by DD traffic. But yes, it was entirely TOO much fun. I made like 20+ runs up and down it, Tokyo Drifting it. About 5 lanes wide and maybe 1/4 mile long* I guess, plenty of room for some fun.

^^^ Just got back from Ahmet's 996. Twas fun. Very fun. I enjoy riding in the 996 so much. It'll have to be a vehicle I own one day.

With the temps going down, slush is turning into ice. People are also out and about, so finding a spot will be hard. :/ I'm sure alignment places like NTB have been making a fortune today

i found another decent spot about 30 minutes ago and got a couple good power slides/J turns in. it needs to freeze up just a little more, though, i was still going down to asphalt in a couple of spots. might go back a little later. no more 4wd action, though, i noticed the driver front hub clicking pretty bad on the way home. i guess it didn't like repeatedly going from spinning at 40-50mph to instant traction.
