Actually I just re-read the game thread and Packboozie was noticeabley loud and douchey during the first 35 minutes, then noticeably missing during the last 5 minutes, and then douching it up immediately after the final buzzer. Typical.
2/6/2010 8:10:08 PM
maybe he was watching the gamei'm just sayin'.............
2/6/2010 8:12:08 PM
^^We fucking lost what was there to be happy about? I was upset. Fuck you. I was watching the game. Believe it or not some of us do lead lives outside of TWW but for some of you I doubt it.You don't know everything tigershark.
2/6/2010 9:02:34 PM
We were competitive in a game in which we had no business being competitive in. Yet the bitching still goes on... This is exactly why the media loves to hate on state fans. Again I ask the question. How many of you actually expected us to win this game? When Sendek left I prepared myself for a long painful rebuilding process why the hell didn't everyone else? WE AREN'T CAROLINA we don't have five star athletes clamoring to come here. We finally have someone who is beginning to attract top tier talent and you can't wait to see how it will pan out? How many of you who are bitching about Lowe would be happy if we had Calipari right now even though it would almost certainly mean future trouble with the NCAA?
2/6/2010 9:03:08 PM
God not you again. Of all the people that post in these threads, you know the least basketball. Of course we didn't expect to win, if that's the case why do we even bother playing? Are you going to say that every fucking game?[Edited on February 6, 2010 at 9:05 PM. Reason : According to you everyone should blow us out]
2/6/2010 9:04:28 PM
i'd do a fucking backflip if we had Caliparithat's like saying "who'd want Carroll? he's an NCAA violation waiting to happen"fuck that...i want banners in the rafters
2/6/2010 9:09:25 PM
^ you'd have your banners for about 4 years. And then we wouldn't have Calipari or the banners because he woulda BOUNCED as soon as the NCAA started sniffing around.
2/6/2010 9:15:40 PM
GUYS, I can't wait for football, or is it next basketball season? or is it 2 football season from now? What is it I'm looking forward to again?
2/6/2010 9:20:43 PM
yall need to give it a rest
2/6/2010 9:23:46 PM
Again you with the "you don't know anything about basketball response" when you have no actual content to respond with. You seem to lack perspective. Do I like State losing? no. Did I expect them to lose by double digits? Yes. I am a mature enough fan person to understand that what I like and what is likely to actually happen are sometimes two completely different things. In this case I expected to lose by double digits and not really be competitive against one of the most talented teams in the ACC. To be competitive in this game was unexpected and positive. To be moaning and bitching about losing this game is simply illogical and actually quite stupid. Even you admit you didn't expect state to win. It is very likely you were surprised that state was as competitive as they were in this game. IN FACT it could be said that *gasp* State EXCEEDED YOUR EXPECTATIONS! Oh but wait it is way cooler to be jaded and negative.
2/6/2010 9:24:03 PM
Did I expect us to be great this year? NoDid I expect us to be good this year? YesDid I expect us to be on pace for a 15 loss season? Absolutely not!

I think I've come to terms with this being a lost season, I am just happy that we have so many freshmen in the rotation now, all of which seem to be progressing and are solid contributors to our team. I think we have a solid foundation for an above average year next year, with an even better year the season afterRichard Howell -learning a lot from Tracy Smith and will be a load down low next yearScott Wood - once he learns how to create his own shot, he has the potential to be one of our best players. He's already our best defender and three point shooterJosh Davis - rough around the edges, but plays hard every gameDeshawn Painter - same as DavisJordan Vanderberg - once he gets a couple post up moves he will be a great player to bring in off the bench, maybe even start in a year or twoall in all, the fact that each one of these players is getting better and is getting a lot of playing time against ACC talent will prove to be very valuable next season. Add that to the veterans we already have and the top tier freshmen coming in next year, I will accept this year being a total bust, knowing that better days are coming soon

2/6/2010 9:42:53 PM
i guess it all depends on your definition of "good"my definition of "good" is a .500 (or better) conference record and making some sort of post season tourneywe are flat-out BAD. dead. fucking. last. 12th out of 12
2/6/2010 10:04:20 PM
^ yeah, you had unrealistic expectations. I mean, com'on man, the media picked us to be dead last. Being optimistic would have been like a 6-10 season. And just to make everyone feel better and be more patient...http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/classrankings?classyear=2010&classmonth=11&rank=13[Edited on February 6, 2010 at 10:09 PM. well i was expecting 4-6 wins in the ACC this year. considering that's still attainable and that nearly all of our losses have come down to the wire (which is expected with so many freshmen and inferior upper classmen talent), we're performing slightly better than i was expecting this season. i was bracing myself for some very ugly blowout losses. so far, there's really only be one- at maryland.everyone at the beginning of the season was saying that we just had to make it through this season and pray for the next to quickly come. nothing's changed.
2/6/2010 10:19:04 PM
i really thought 8-8 was doable i thought that with a 4th year coach who was starting 2 seniors, a stud big man, a sharp shooting freshman and a serviceable point guard we could be a "good" team
2/6/2010 10:19:42 PM
2/6/2010 10:34:43 PM
^ Talent didnt matter in Herb's system. Whether you were "great", "good", "average", "below average", or "suck" you all looked the same. That's why we ran him off. Because no matter how "good" the talent was we underachieved every year. No matter how badly we dominated the first 30 minutes, we always collapsed at the end.Now we have very little talent and we are hanging with very talented teams. Once we get talent, perhaps our results will be different.
2/6/2010 10:56:15 PM
all you people saying "give sid one more year" what are your requirements for next year? With a 96 team tournament its going to be hard to determine if he should be fired or not, isn't it?
2/6/2010 11:04:25 PM
i don't want to hang with teamsi want to hang banners!!!!!!!
2/6/2010 11:10:31 PM
Next year we will win 20 games.Next year we will be .500 or better in the ACC.Next year we will be in the NCAA tournament. Those are three things we know to be true.We MAY win 10 games in the ACC.We MAY be a ranked team.We MAY win multiple ACC-t games. We MAY win multiple NCAA-t games. Those are four things we can't guarantee at this stage, but if we achieve 1-2 of them I think we can all step off the ledge.Don't believe me? Read the first ten pages of this thread when I was right and 90% of the board was wrong. I watch the games on a different level than most people and I don't base my opinions on how hard my dick gets when I watch romantic comedies.[Edited on February 6, 2010 at 11:22 PM. 2/6/2010 11:20:45 PM
so you're saying if we don't go 3/3 on the first 3 then he should be fired?
2/6/2010 11:22:09 PM
If we don't make the NCAA tournament with next year's loaded line-up then he's proven he can't win with a good roster. At that point he's had 5 years on the job and it's probably time to move in a new direction. But why are we even talking about this? There's no way we miss the tournament next year barring a rash of injuries... we are loaded with talent and experience...If Howell stays for his senior year we will be an elite team in three seasons, period.

We will make the tournament next year regardless of the format.[Edited on February 7, 2010 at 12:22 AM. Reason : enough]
2/7/2010 12:20:51 AM
so you're assuming our guys like javi, howell and wood will improve next year? i guess you're assuming this because costner improved so much from his freshman year on. making the tournament next year is FAR from a guarantee
2/7/2010 12:30:02 AM
I've laid out a very detailed post about our roster next year. Read it.

I guarantee Harrow and Brown come in next year and average 25 and 20ppg, respectivelythat's a guaranteeoh, that and we'll have 3 guys on the All-ACC 1st team
2/7/2010 12:42:54 AM
Personally, I don't see us losing more than four games.
2/7/2010 12:43:46 AM
Harrow and Brown will provide quality minutes off the bench, are you suggesting they will be less competent than Mays and CJ are this year?
2/7/2010 12:45:49 AM
CJ has already hinted that he's transferring -- so that's mootMays, if he's lucky, will average 7 minutes perHarrow and Brown deserve 25-30 per
2/7/2010 12:59:38 AM
^ eh, when did he hint that

2/7/2010 1:22:24 AM
I understand CJ would be unhappy with the minutes he will get next year, but for how he has played this year, he has gotten a generous amount of minutes. I don't understand how he can reasonably be upset, except with himself
2/7/2010 1:38:52 AM
State beat Duke. That exceeded my expectations.
