we dont need any more short point guards.
3/26/2010 5:09:19 PM
I'm fine with short guards, but I think we've hit our quota of white boys for a little while, especially since we have Mays as an honorary one
3/26/2010 5:34:34 PM
fyi, tyler lewis was the only sophomore on the all-state team. kid can ball.
3/26/2010 5:41:27 PM
he doesn't have the athleticism for college hoops
3/26/2010 6:55:37 PM
lol at some of these school names

I had a dream that CJL committed to Notre Dame last night, so I punched a whole in the wall and scared the shit out of my girlfriend (in my dream). I woke up pissed, but then realized I don't even have a girlfriend, so it was all good.[Edited on March 28, 2010 at 11:40 AM. Reason : ]

The Carolina Challenge was pretty cool. Cary Academy has a very nice campus - almost like a small college. A lot nicer than my high school anyways. They had two games going in two gyms at the same time. I got to see Bishop Daniels play live. You could tell he plays for Word of God: fancy passes, aggressive attack, solid ball-handling. No highlight dunks unfortunately!I could never get my hands on an event program, so I didn't know who else I was watching. I looked for CJ Leslie in the stands, but never saw him.
3/28/2010 11:25:22 PM
Bishop is trying to get big time scholarship offers, but he's not going to get anything too major before he proves he's more than a dunking machine
3/28/2010 11:45:18 PM
i wouldnt mind a dunking machine since no one except josh davis can dunk from a standstill right now
3/29/2010 12:05:06 AM
however until he proves otherwise to college coaches: what use does a 6'2 dunking machine with limited ball skills and limited range on his shot have on a ACC team? Josh Davis is a good defender and an excellent rebounder for his size. at 6'7ish he's got great athleticism which allows him to play the 3 in the ACC (not necessarily at the highest level, but the man made up for his lack of range on offense by rebounding, playing defense, and hustling) and at the 3 you don't have to be a great ball handler.Daniels is a little shorter than you'd like your 2 guard and he hasn't proved to coaches that he has the ball handling skills to play the 1 at a high level. I think he might eventually show that, but if he doesn't show it this summer he'll probably end up at a low to mid-major school.

^^^^^ CJ was probably at the McD's practices. So, with the kentucky loss earlier than expected, I wonder if any of those guys (PFs) will stay at UK another year ... We can only hope so, right? Would definitely help with recruiting CJ.
3/29/2010 8:54:27 AM
5* center Enes Kanter in the c/o 2010 commits to Kentucky last Tuesday. He's 6'9" / 240 lbs. Does this have any impact on CJ Leslie's decision? So, a spot on Kentucky's recruiting class just got taken by a highly touted post player. Meanwhile, a post position in NC State's class just opened up recently...http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=4508332
3/29/2010 9:03:18 AM
I doubt this helps or hurts the recruitment.
3/29/2010 9:05:10 AM
you could imagine what it would be like if it did help though...
3/29/2010 9:28:07 AM
if anything, I think UK signing a legit, big-bodied center would help their chances of landing CJLthey won't be competing for the same minutes.also:
3/29/2010 9:37:05 AM
Yeah, I guess CJ is really looking at Pattersons spot, not so much orton/cousins
3/29/2010 10:43:30 AM
Is KY or FL our main competitor for CJL? Could be that FL uses this news to lock him down....
3/29/2010 12:16:51 PM
People at Kentucky's boards seem to think they have CJ locked up.Of course they pretty much seem to think that about every recruit they talk about. There was a thread about getting Cothron also pretty much immediately after he decommited talking about how he will fit in their line up, so maybe that's just how they think.
3/29/2010 12:44:30 PM
its down to UK and NC State
3/29/2010 2:12:25 PM
3/29/2010 2:14:46 PM
cj said that he probably will not announce until may....MAY
3/29/2010 2:20:22 PM
So CJL will end up at UK and Cothron at UAB. Great
3/29/2010 3:32:11 PM
Most kentucky fans don't want cothron. I think less and less nc state fans want cothron. Kanter doesn't effect leslie. Leslie will be more effected by the decision of terrance jones. If he chooses uk before leslie decides anywhere we get leslie locked up. They'll need talent at the 4 and leslie is a bit smaller than you want your 4 to be. Jones has an inch and something like 30 pounds on him and can actually play the 4 at the next level.
3/29/2010 4:36:35 PM
3/29/2010 6:42:29 PM
he's an attention whore, like most blue chippers, so he's going to take the John Wall approachi don't blame him one bit though. there's no point in deciding this early
3/29/2010 7:23:09 PM
From Lorenzo's facebook:
3/29/2010 10:48:37 PM
I agree that this is starting to feel more and more like the John wall saga. I wouldn't be surprised if he waited until the last minute to make what seems like the obvious decision. It makes me question CJLs commitment as a player.
3/30/2010 1:31:11 PM
just heard on 99.9 the fan that CJ Leslie was spotted having dinner and watching the tourney games with Tracy Smith over the weekend. Tracy was trying to talk him into coming to play for the pack (obviously)
3/30/2010 1:38:57 PM
Gimme a link to his flightaware
3/30/2010 1:40:22 PM
this shit is gonna end in some typical nc state shit fashion.
3/30/2010 1:46:46 PM
jesus christ shut the fuck up w/ "nc state shit".
3/30/2010 1:49:29 PM
When CJL commits to UK, the meltdown on these boards will be apocalyptic......either that, or people will predict a national championship as soon as he verbals to NCState.
3/30/2010 1:51:06 PM
Smith/Leslie stuff:http://www.wralsportsfan.com/ncsu/story/7321602/
3/30/2010 1:54:23 PM
I refuse to get my hopes up for Leslie. Therefore I'm just assuming he's going to UK.

3/30/2010 5:51:40 PM
3/30/2010 6:07:46 PM
All things considered he isn't as vital as the other two recruits that are coming in. Don't get me wrong I would LOVE to have him but I am just stoked to finally be getting two elite guards.
3/30/2010 7:44:20 PM
the melt down will be epic. i am actually hoping to see it in a sick train wreck kind of way. with that said if we finish top 6 in the acc without CJ i will be happy. ohh and both guards stay.
3/30/2010 8:25:28 PM
I really don't see why there would be a meltdown if people are looking at this realistically. Meltdown would be him committing to unc or something like that.
3/30/2010 8:27:10 PM
He will get to play off of a better big man at NC State (Tracy Smith) than Kentucky (Daniel Orton).
3/30/2010 8:33:50 PM
