You could try out conditioner only washing while your hair is fried, since shampooing strips away more of the natural oils.
8/20/2010 9:31:06 PM
go as long as you can without washing your hair and comb it frequently. if you can make it a week your hair will be in much better condition. even two or three stints of 3-4 days will help. just do updos and take your hair down and comb it a couple times a day. hot oil, olive oil, avocado or mayonaise treatments might be something to try out too.

^^ & ^i wash my hair every 1-2 weeks anyway, even before i had it lightened.i've never been one to wash my hair every day or even every other day or even every two or three days.my mom always thought it was gross as hell.the owner of the salon is convinced its one of the only reasons i was able to go so much lighter in such little time with such relatively little damage.[Edited on August 21, 2010 at 1:10 PM. Reason : four bleachings in 6 weeks!]

In addition to the deep conditioning treatments you're trying, I recommend a spray-on leave-in conditioner also.
8/21/2010 1:22:38 PM
^yeah, they gave me soms stuff for that too.they gave me this huge line of goldwell blue-blonde stuff. it rocks.and as far as the conditioning went. it conditioned it too much! im gonna have to wash my hair again today >.<

i havent tried the nail art pens, but look carefully at the opened "Color Quick" applicator. see that big oozing drop of polish on the end? that happens IRL too. I tried the black and it dripped on my skin and clothes when i was trying it out the first time. it was convenient otherwise, so maybe it would be a good emergency purse stash in in a sheer or light color, and make sure you like, stand at a bathroom vanity so it won't drip on your clothes.

I've been thinking about lightening my hair but I definitely can't afford going to the salon and getting it done. Has anyone had any success with box coloring? I havent colored my hair in about 6 years and it's a light brown color. please help my hair looks so dull
8/23/2010 4:30:44 PM
I do box color all the time. To get best results make sure you use the ones that they make specifically for brunettes. You're gonna look good.
8/23/2010 4:32:46 PM
I personally like the Garnier Fructis line for box coloring
8/23/2010 4:33:40 PM
I've done a lot of box coloring with great success.Loreal's Couleur Experte because you put down a base color and then go back and add highlights. It always looks fantastic.[Edited on August 23, 2010 at 4:36 PM. Reason : .]

I've been coloring my hair since 10th grade - I've had it done by experts 4-5 times and hated it so I stick to what I know. L'oreal Nice and Easy is always a great choice.

Oh, i forgot to mention my top-secret arsenal for re-conditioning bleached hair: or put it on wet hair or add a little to your ends before you use heat. this stuff's magic!

I think I may get these for Halloween so I can be Hit-Girl... not a bad price for a Nine West boot, and I think I would wear them again
8/25/2010 10:02:37 PM
What size do you wear? I would buy them from you after
8/25/2010 10:04:56 PM
I think I would want to keep them, that's for sure they look comfy...I'm a sad panda though, because I found a website where they were $66 but they only have a size 5.5 and 6 on Amazon they're $120.. might wait for them to go down a bit...
8/25/2010 10:07:33 PM

8/26/2010 9:16:00 AM
Yay! Let me know how it goes. I meant to tell you, there is this other super awesome product called Anti-snap by redkin and its probably the best product I've used that you leave in your hair.Extreme Anti-Snap: Leave-in treatment gently smoothes the cuticle and helps fortify hair that's prone to breaking, splitting or snapping off.http://www.redken.com/products/haircare/extreme/extreme-anti-snapI recently did a bunch to my hair and I'm thinking bout using both of these to get it back[Edited on August 26, 2010 at 9:17 AM. Reason : photo]
8/26/2010 9:17:16 AM
^ ohhhhh. i'm going to try that!!!! my favorite shampoo/line of hair product ever is all soft by redken. and i really like their heat glide. i'm definitely going to try that.all soft is for dry, brittle hair:and then the heat glide is a frizz taming heat protecting serum you put on before heat styling. it doesn't make your hair greasy or anything:[Edited on August 26, 2010 at 9:22 AM. Reason : pics. cause maybe these could be helpful, too. ]
8/26/2010 9:20:35 AM
Katherine, I have the heat glide if you want to borrow it. I really like it but I think it may be to heavy for your hair. I love the all soft line (im actually on the redkin website right now looking at it) but I know I've heard my styest talk about the difference between moisture (like allsoft) and repair (like the extreme line) and how moisture makes your hair feel better but the protein is what improves the overall condition of your hair. IDK
8/26/2010 9:30:14 AM
ohhhh that makes sense. i'm definitely trying the anti snap then. but all soft does make your hair feel sosososososo good haha. i guess if it isn't helping the overall condition then it really isn't worth it, though.
8/26/2010 9:32:25 AM
Has anyone tried getting a haircut at Mitchell's Academy on buck jones? Don't have the cash for a regular salon and greatclips type places never end well for me.
8/26/2010 9:36:19 AM
I would love to find some kind of leave-in treatment that will protect my hair and keep it soft but not make it look greasy or weigh it down. I have really fine hair, and anything I put in it looks good for a little while but then after a few hours it leaves it completely flat and blah, even if I just put it on the ends. Thin hair is a pain.
