Could be one of those three star diamonds in the rough. Give the man a shot, maybe he'll earn a scholarship later.
12/19/2013 2:00:03 PM
He'll never earn one - Diamondbacks are giving him a full ride anyways. Would only hurt the team. And maybe he is a diamond in the rough...but I would rather just get a diamond out of the rough. Anyways - it's a good pick up since it costs us nothing.
12/19/2013 2:01:33 PM
^huh
12/19/2013 4:47:45 PM
wut? it's great that a 3* is willing to walk-on. and great to get another guy from Charlotte.
12/19/2013 4:54:27 PM
I believe he is saying that he'll never earn a scholarship because he doesnt need one. Giving him one would be stupid because Arizona is paying for everything. Hes not saying it wouldn't be a good idea to bring him on the team as a walkon.
12/19/2013 5:03:36 PM
so what's his story? i see he graduated in 2010 and signed with the Tarheels.
12/19/2013 5:50:21 PM
Why is Arizona paying his way?
12/19/2013 5:59:07 PM
^Arizona Diamondbacks, the baseball team. Why? I don't really know
12/19/2013 7:13:18 PM
Maybe a clause in the contract he signed? "Go back to college if MLB doesn't pan out" just a guess though
12/19/2013 8:47:29 PM
Weird... But awesome
12/19/2013 9:48:59 PM
Yes sorry - I should pay more attention to what I say. The Dbacks are paying for his education expenses for 4 years. It was in his contract.I believe i read that they do that for all their players.
12/20/2013 7:35:27 AM
Heard the YOU=BALLER letter drafter/Drew Hughes is heading to the University of Florida....say it ain't so!
12/20/2013 10:18:42 AM
In my limited experience, baseball players make excellent football players.

Pack Pride?@PackPrideDavidson Day CB Mike Stevens has committed to NC State. He was previously committed to Kansas State.
1/6/2014 5:01:12 PM
well...cool i suppose[Edited on January 6, 2014 at 5:03 PM. Reason : http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Michael-Stevens-131841]
1/6/2014 5:03:05 PM
Offers from every secondary school in NC plus Kansas State and Kentucky. Was a no brainer for him and his family once we offered. Previously a Kansas State commitment.
1/6/2014 5:04:49 PM
Sorry, somebody on PP misinterpreted Trevion's tweet today. He supposedly said something like "home sweet home" so the guy assumed he committed to State.
1/6/2014 5:08:42 PM
^yeah, I believe he got back from the All-Star game this afternoon. Just bad timing as the tweets from our coaching staff and his tweet happened almost simultaneously...
1/6/2014 5:14:53 PM
I've seen the Davidson Day kid play several times. Not incredibly fast, but catches everything. His qb is going to Florida. (I see he's listed as a corner, not sure he's fast enough to excel there, he can definitely contribute at wr)[Edited on January 6, 2014 at 6:37 PM. Reason : :]

Can we steal Bill Snyder from K-State too??
1/7/2014 10:10:39 AM
4 star CB Troy Vincent flipped his commitment from Penn State to us. We landed a less heralded DB earlier tonight as well
1/16/2014 9:24:56 PM
Elliott Davis also committed.
1/16/2014 9:49:12 PM
Sean Boone now too.

20th ranked class per Scout and 27th per Rivals, for the moment.
1/17/2014 9:18:21 AM
Wow ... not bad DD. I figured our winless ACC season would mean this year was a lost cause in recruiting.I haven't followed recruiting closely since the Amato days. Any other big-time targets we're still realistically in the running for?
1/17/2014 9:45:30 AM
^ that is pretty damn good considering we are coming off a season where we sucked donkey dick.
1/17/2014 10:05:53 AM
damn, alright DD, solid push to end the class
1/17/2014 10:15:38 AM
Trevion and DTW would be a great end to this class[Edited on January 17, 2014 at 10:38 AM. Reason : .]
1/17/2014 10:38:37 AM
Per Twitter, we picked up 4 last night:Troy Vincent (4* CB), Elliot Davis (3* CB), Mike Stevens (2* CB), Shawn Boone (3* safety)when is the last day to recruit?also:
1/17/2014 10:40:59 AM
Signing day is Feb 5th, I believe.
1/17/2014 11:00:02 AM
Recruiting classes usually lag a year behind. This season's successes will reflect on next years signings.
1/17/2014 11:05:58 AM
3 star players having commitment ceremonies?seriously dude, you're not that good.
1/17/2014 11:06:22 AM
boone has a great offer list
1/17/2014 11:21:49 AM
but the 17 year old only has 3 stars so he sucks and he shouldn't celebrate with his friends and family.

1/17/2014 11:42:10 AM
Has there been any commentary on whether McLendon will be given a fair shake at this job this fall, or is he a guaranteed redshirt?
1/17/2014 11:59:10 AM
^8 Stevens committed a week or two ago
1/17/2014 12:07:10 PM
^^ Not sure, but you've got to think this is Brissett's team. He's been in the system for a year and is already a team leader, supposedly. Ideally McLendon takes over as a RS sophomore after he's had two years to learn behind BrissettThen again, he already looks pretty damn good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jUcU4M6rIQ
1/17/2014 1:16:06 PM
Doeren has been quoted recently as saying that this is Brisset's team and he will be the starter. He's the leader of the team (supposedly was one this last year). [Edited on January 17, 2014 at 1:22 PM. Reason : ]
1/17/2014 1:22:03 PM
The idea is to redshirt him till week 2 when Briskett get's decapitated in the first quarter.
1/17/2014 1:24:53 PM
I imagine Pete would step-in before McClendon, but who knows?
1/17/2014 1:34:30 PM
yeah i remember hearing rumblings that Brisset was champing at the bit the past season. He must've been going crazy on the sidelines while watching our struggles at the QB position. Maybe watching that sh!t show will teach him some valuable lessons.
1/17/2014 1:38:00 PM
yeah he was given numerous lessons on how not to play football
1/17/2014 2:28:36 PM
i've seen an interview from mcclendon...he's already banking on redshirting and starting 3 years after brissett
