More states should wise the fuck up and build some damn casinos. Shit is fun and who gives a fuck if it makes the baby jesus cry?

yeah of course video poker and slots are boringbut they're a big draw, especially at a 98% payout and all that bullshit. factor in the fact that the 98% gets put right back in and they're big time moneymakers. and people buy drinks and stuff. its like selling a cheap pizza and hoping someone adds a topping for 2 bucks!!11plus you dont have to pay dealers and you are only limited by space. these 9/6 bitches are making good money in test markets right now. plus in a lot of places you really cant have much besides video poker with a jpg video ho asking which cards you wanna hold. but we also have a project in the works, a 6 player max table with an "computerized" dealer. think partypoker 6man in a real casino. chairs and all, with the old school pacman style sit down display. networked video texas holdem. should be badass if it pans out. our version will be in testing in various indian reservations across the lovely deserts of the US around summer 07
3/24/2007 3:14:33 PM
People dont buy drinks Would they put the computerized 6max tables out on the floor? I can't imagine how terrible the play would be there if they spread .25/.50NL or something.
3/24/2007 3:48:26 PM
what do you guys think about that? i've heard it before, i mean you would definetly get more hands per hour and a better rake, but i just like the feel of real cards
3/24/2007 3:54:28 PM
I can't imagine it would be any more profitable than playing online, and not as much fun as playing the normal way
3/24/2007 4:03:39 PM
how do you keep random bystanders from seeing everyones hole cards?
3/24/2007 6:06:21 PM
3/25/2007 9:01:14 PM
Damn, plus what he made up in ac.
3/25/2007 10:13:45 PM
What did he cash there? Like $76k?
3/25/2007 10:26:49 PM
In one event. I beleive he made about 60 in another one.
3/26/2007 6:21:03 AM
dont just look at the cashes and think winyou forget how much entry fees you pay when you like 16 table mtts but for real, looks like he's doing a-ok
3/26/2007 6:51:39 AM
Yeah, I was thinking the same think after my post, but even if he only pulls down a measily 10K per month, he's still doing pretty damn good for himself.
3/26/2007 8:04:27 AM
agreed.
3/26/2007 8:22:11 AM
3/26/2007 8:00:10 PM
My friend just got back from a cruise. He said there was an electronic 10 person table at the casino, and it was a pretty big hit. Is this something you had a hand in designing or is it the competition?
3/27/2007 8:12:44 AM
sound like 'leg may have missed the boatHA HA GET IT
3/27/2007 8:21:26 AM
http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/1248484I played here a few weeks ago and because of their great setup I was thinking about getting back into playing regularly. So much for that. This is the first place to get busted that I've actually played at. [Edited on March 27, 2007 at 8:28 AM. Reason : Fuck, I just read the list of players that got busted]
3/27/2007 8:26:20 AM
yeah there were some memorable poker stories in Cary that night
3/27/2007 8:48:37 AM
3/27/2007 8:51:48 AM
Yeah that's exactly how I imagined that whole thing going down. 80% of the people were there to play a friendly game with their own money. Guy running it is making a little money from the game for his time and provides drinks just like anyone playing a non cash game would have at a party. Some idiot thinks he's going to be gangster and rolls up to the game with some drugs and a gun. Everyone else gets the same treatment as this guy and the drugs/weapons become the main story. And everyone knows that cops have cash games in thier spare time. It's all rediculous. Too much money with not enough to do.
3/27/2007 9:08:50 AM
^see that's what gets me annoyed, you know the cops are playing too
3/27/2007 9:29:46 AM
^^ and ^I dont think yuo know much about the game in question. This guy was clearing easily over 6 figures from the numbers ive heard. The guy is pretty well known around the area. You dont start putting up big screen tv's all over the place without making some money
3/27/2007 10:13:48 AM
who said he wasn't making money?
3/27/2007 10:16:42 AM
I think their point was that the story would have sounded much more tame if there weren't the drug/gun references. When I was there I didn't see any drugs or guns. They even made you go outside if you wanted to smoke cigarettes. Their flat panel tvs will be missed
3/27/2007 10:19:09 AM
well "a little money" meaning, people wouldn't play there if it was an unreasonable rake from the table and "a little money" compared to a casino.
3/27/2007 10:19:41 AM
Lower rake than at the estate.
3/27/2007 10:20:42 AM
yeahhe was making some serious bank off that place
3/27/2007 10:20:56 AM
^ That's the point. That would be what we call ILLEGAL.What he was doing is no different than selling drugs. He better be praying he doesnt get cited for tax evasion.Poker isn't the smartest business to get into around here. You know there is one legal game in the Raleigh area (i wont mention the name, you all know what im talking about). They pay their dues to keep their game from getting busted by cops. Now when one game comes around and gets a little too big for the britches (i mean this game was a full-scale daily operation) and they AREN'T paying dues. Of course the due paying game is going to take issue with that. It's just business.
3/27/2007 10:21:12 AM
3/27/2007 10:27:10 AM
any place in raleigh spread omaha? i think i'm goign to be in town first weekend in april.
3/27/2007 10:28:46 AM
I was always under the impression that this game was "protected" and taken care of with the local authorities.however, it was not covert at all.AT ALL.i mean, location, number of poeple involved, ease of entry.... all that...and it was ultra visible, and everyone who played aroudn the area knew about it and played in it.now, with state or federal agencies involved, being taken care of locally cant help that.i meangross was prlly nearing 10k a week on good weeks.
3/27/2007 10:29:26 AM
I didn't think it was that visible. I had a hard time finding it my first time there.
3/27/2007 10:36:54 AM
davidyou're being too literal.visibility int he fact that EVERYONE who picked up a deck of cards in raleigh knew about it.and if you want to be literalthe fucking name of the place was on the window in bigassed letters, and the code name wasn't exactly hard to decipher
3/27/2007 10:41:52 AM
Wait, are we talking about the same place? This place in the article, the place that I played at did not have windows.
3/27/2007 10:44:38 AM
oh shityeah, different placedamn, i barely looked at the pictureand take back everything i said about this game being protectedim thinking of the one that rally was talking aboutdamnyeah this wasnt in business when i was in raleigh(but theres another one very very close to that)
3/27/2007 10:59:26 AM
Hah. The other place never had a turnout that big. That's why I was excited about finding this new game.
3/27/2007 11:01:24 AM
same ole crowd though
3/27/2007 11:03:57 AM
Yeah, I recognized a lot of old faces when I went there for the first time. I still can't believe they named everyone there in the article.
3/27/2007 11:07:08 AM
And now you understand the problem pilgrimshoesYouve got one guy paying dues. And losing his business to a non-payer.I've got a good idea who reported this game to the local agencies, but thats none of my business so I won't speculate.
3/27/2007 12:26:24 PM
Oops David.......I liked the place which is why i suggested it. The other game I figure Ben is referencing apparently have some interesting policies going into effect. I was suppose to be there Thursday but I had a migraine and I took a nap and got up at 11 and was like I don't wanna play.

3/27/2007 9:05:48 PM
you guys ever watch the high stakes games on Bodog? That shit makes me sick.Lots of terrible play and 200K+ average pots.
3/27/2007 11:19:20 PM
^ those could all be bots, or bodog people trying to lure rich saps in.i wouldnt trust playing that kind of money unless i had chips and cards in front of me...fuck all this internet poker crap.
