yeah patrik antonius, i've been waiting all season for him and d'ags.antonius is on this week's poker after dark, along with tilly. you can see her chest expand every time she's in a hand.
3/15/2007 10:10:37 AM
thanks phart, it's antoniousbut damnesfandiari really went on life tilt didnt he
3/15/2007 10:19:16 AM
^why do you say that? i've heard him say some shit on tv and what not, but what's going on?
3/15/2007 10:25:28 AM
just in reference to his body language and play after those two big pots with jenn harmon on hsp 2 episodes agowhen he busted, went away for a while, didnt post, got the QQ, then the QQ hand with matusow, etc etcseems to be playing scared, which, for a player like esfandari, is not good.he thrives on making termendously well timed plays at people.
3/15/2007 10:31:12 AM
yea, I saw that one too, jenn was playing pretty nuts that session, seems like the table didn't pick up that she was playing way faster than usual. didn't efandiari mention running a furniture business or something, haha.
3/15/2007 12:22:56 PM
sbrugby will be on 7 of the next 13 episodes, playing with ivey and antonious amongst others. they chop up the sessions and air them kinda weirdhis blog is one of like two I'll occasionally read, basically it just talks about how many 100's of thousands he won or lost that day to antonious/benyamine heads up at 200/400+ PLO/NLHE[Edited on March 15, 2007 at 2:24 PM. 3/15/2007 5:41:49 PM
reloading online now...doing the stars visa or whatever
3/15/2007 5:50:38 PM
Oops, I meant to say anyone with an account outside the us.
3/15/2007 9:40:25 PM

3/16/2007 7:03:27 AM

3/16/2007 7:22:48 AM
I said anything, I meant anyone.Does anyone know if you can still xfer from a US neteller account to anywhere else. Too busy to read the zillions of posts on 2+2 and pocket fives.
3/16/2007 8:24:31 AM
^yea i realized that, but it was too late to edit, i'm dragging today
3/16/2007 8:30:55 AM
something i just came across on 2+2, i guess it's really not that interesting of a hand, but i just want to hear some thought on it.hero has been reraising recently from early position, just recently had rockets in bb and 4 bet all in or something like that, wasn't called, for a little background on his image. no read on villain (button).2/4 nl: hero has 370ish, villain has 800hero has 33 in bb, utg calls folds around to button who calls, sb folds, hero makes it 14, utg and button call.flop:KKT (rainbow)checks aroundturn brings the treyhero bets out 40, utg folds, button callsriver bring a 6hero bets out 88, button raises all in (the rest of hero's stack is like ya know 250 or something)[Edited on March 16, 2007 at 9:18 AM. Reason : took out general concensus]
3/16/2007 9:17:40 AM
"taking the betting lead and running into what you were representing"thats it
3/16/2007 9:36:57 AM
haha, what do you do on the river though bro?[Edited on March 16, 2007 at 9:40 AM. Reason : dfgd]
3/16/2007 9:39:38 AM
pretty standard bet on the river for a mega-LAG
3/16/2007 9:48:36 AM
depends on the limits...low-limit: guy finally decides to go crazy with his K-8not low-limit: fold.. you're beat
3/16/2007 9:54:57 AM
^^so you make an easy call then?it's middle limit, i posted blinds and stack size
3/16/2007 9:56:02 AM
whoa whoa whoa what/i never said anything about a callim saying if im hero, which i assumed that we werethats a pretty standard line for ~2/4 nlheof course i have to fold to the river push
3/16/2007 10:09:44 AM
lol @ hish's new facebook pic
3/16/2007 10:22:38 AM
okay, well this is why i made the post, bc the general concensus on 2+2 was an (and i quote) instacalltheir argument was that his main range was ak, k-10, and a straightdraw i guess, the pot is laying you 2:1 on the river, and you can beat his likely holdings like 47% of the time or something (ignoring the fact that he might have a small pair, so equity is actually a little better) i mean i'm definetly stripping the analysis here, but yea, they pretty much argued for an instacall, and i mean i was trying to figure out if i sucked at poker bc there are definetly players that i would get away from this against, but maybe i should think about calling here more idk, smells like k-10 to me EXCEPT for the huge overbet, i mean he could just be trying to make it look like a bluff, which is not a bad strategy of course, but idk, i kind of think it's a tough decision either way, but i mean they were arguing that you're only a slight dog under the most pessimistic of ranges and thus you should call getting 2:1
3/16/2007 10:24:03 AM
but butthats like making a limit call in a no limit gameplusim a huge equity guybut equity really matters in tournaments and if you are mega rolled for the game you are playing in.it takes a huge roll to sustain <5% positive equity situational swings.[Edited on March 16, 2007 at 10:30 AM. Reason : you guys got a 40k roll? i dont.. thats what it'd take here for this to be an instacall for me]
3/16/2007 10:28:47 AM
i mean i'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, i'm just presenting their argument for the sake of discussion. getting 2:1 when you are 47% to win the hand is much better than 5% edgewhat do you think about the overbet?[Edited on March 16, 2007 at 10:31 AM. Reason : jkld]
3/16/2007 10:30:41 AM
I don't know about you, but i love overbetting with the nuts...It needs to be a setup a little bit (although sometimes if someone else at you're table is stealing on the river, that can work for you too...) but it will make someone feel like an idiot for calling not to mention the $$$$
3/16/2007 10:57:26 AM
yea i mean i like it too, personally when i see this hand i think k-10 all the way, but i was kind of confused by the 2+2 stuff, and the more i think about it, i'm not so sure it's a fold anymore
3/16/2007 10:58:38 AM
It would help to have some sort of read on the villain, hero played this hand in such a manner that he needs to call vs a solid aggressive player. Good players at this level are capable of taking a funky line and pushing KJ/KQ for value given the action on the flop and turn. This is also a fine spot for the villain to bluff any sort of staight draw or middle pair. Against some weak/tight's you can fold because they would definately slow play a flopped boat and probably aren't going to bluff like that on the river. This hand was on a 6max table right, not full ring? That could change some things.
3/16/2007 2:10:43 PM
oh shti i sucki didnt see the underboadi was looking at it as just unimproved pair of threeshad no idea where this 47% was comming from (*hence the megalag)
3/16/2007 2:29:57 PM
3/16/2007 2:30:59 PM
^hahahahaha wtf dude, yea it's definetly about the boat.so noid, what do you do then?[Edited on March 16, 2007 at 2:33 PM. Reason : ds]
3/16/2007 2:33:01 PM
btw I'd call with 22 too, he might have QJ.HERO CALL!!!^ I said I would call against most solid aggressive villains, fold to certain weak/tights if I had a good read on them[Edited on March 16, 2007 at 2:36 PM. Reason : .]
3/16/2007 2:34:56 PM
yea, that's pretty much where i stand too, i guess what kind of threw me for a loop was the fact that everyone on there said it was an instacall without a read on the villain, i mean it might be a call, but i don't think it's an instacall, but maybe they're better than me.

3/18/2007 12:57:03 PM
I thought it was obvious from my quote.Don't you usually get to see their hand if they make it to the showdown?
3/18/2007 1:16:17 PM
^ If a player calls on the river, but a better hand is showed, he/she is allowed to chuck their cards in the muck instead of exposing them. What I've found silly about online poker however is that you can check the "Last Hand" button to review the action, and it will show the hands of players that mucked on the river, which defeats the purpose of mucking in the first place...
3/18/2007 1:25:33 PM
Right, but unlike party, I didn't think stars showed his hand when using the last hand feature.
3/18/2007 1:27:22 PM
During current Omaha session you were dealt 45 hands and saw flop: - 7 out of 8 times while in big blind (87%) - 6 out of 7 times while in small blind (85%) - 23 out of 30 times in other positions (76%) - a total of 36 out of 45 (80%) Pots won at showdown - 8 of 13 (61%) Pots won without showdown - 9I've got some Dutch guy calling me a donkey right now. It's great.

just got back from my bartender's home cash game, it starts after the bar closes and ends either when you go out or at the time you said you were going to leave (or later) at the start of the game. I said that I'd stay untill I saw sunlight in the windows. The first hand I thought that I'd take a little control with my pocket 8's, and lost my 20 $ buy-in to AK suited. Next hand I lost my 20 dollar re-buy when I hit 2-pair on the flop of a non-raised hand and called an all in from a guy that tripped up with his pocket 7's. So before 3 am I was 60 dollars in. It's now 7:40 and I just chipped out for 205 $.
