Here we go again. I predict a long saints drive that nets zero points, followed by a solid panthers drive that ends with a missed 43 yard field goal as time expires
10/16/2016 4:01:59 PM
Saints gonna go for two to put it away?
10/16/2016 4:09:42 PM
^ no
10/16/2016 4:11:33 PM
man I don't get how our pass rush is just so bad, a lot of the time it seems more frustrating to me then our secondary play
10/16/2016 4:11:38 PM
who is Daryl Williams' backup [Edited on October 16, 2016 at 4:19 PM. Reason : some guy named "Donald Hawkins"]
10/16/2016 4:18:18 PM
lol what the hell did Cam do after the TD?
10/16/2016 4:23:19 PM
Funchess coming through, that looked tough.
10/16/2016 4:28:05 PM
alright...we can't keep just giving them a soft 6-7 yards per play...
10/16/2016 4:34:25 PM
i hate kicking
10/16/2016 4:38:49 PM
Jesus 3 rushers against 6 pass protectors and they still get pressure immediately[Edited on October 16, 2016 at 4:42 PM. Reason : ]
10/16/2016 4:41:55 PM
10/16/2016 4:42:09 PM
Honestly coming back to tie it after being down 21-0 showed me more from this team than I thought they had in them. Moral victories is about all we can expect this season.
10/16/2016 4:45:45 PM
But it was against the saint tho.
10/16/2016 4:56:51 PM
It's a weak division with 10 games left to play, and they are the defending NFC champions. I still expect a lot.
10/16/2016 4:57:07 PM
15-1 to 1-15.....good draft pick though.
10/16/2016 5:04:27 PM
^^ I'm an optimistic guy by nature, but 8-8 is about as high as I'm willing to consider possible at this point, and that won't get the wildcard this year.If Atlanta beats Seattle today the season is pretty much over.
10/16/2016 5:05:54 PM
Yeah it's been a fun 3 year run, but all that's left for this one is pride.
10/16/2016 5:11:23 PM
I'm with face on this one.
10/16/2016 6:38:49 PM
I'm out. See you guys next year. I'm looking for new Sunday afternoon hobbies.
10/16/2016 7:35:05 PM
Stew made a big difference in the running game yesterday. Once he got cranked it up it fueled the offense.I've been a steadfast proponent of Gettleman, and he's made some terrific moves in FA prior to this season, but I can't wrap my mind around why we have almost 20M in cap money that went unused over the summer. Surely there were players that could have helped that wouldn't have lead us into cap hell again.
10/17/2016 8:01:28 AM
^ we need to spend some of that on the O line. I think the secondary can get better in time but maybe bring in a couple vets midway though the season like we've done in the past.
10/17/2016 10:26:56 AM
If we spent all our money last year in the off-season, we couldn't have brought in guys like Allen and Finnegan
10/17/2016 10:41:20 AM
No point to bring those guys in now we are 1-5 and last in the division. Teams making a playoff push make those sort of moves.
10/17/2016 11:02:17 AM
My point is that you don't want to go broke in the off-season just because you have cap space. You need "spending money" during the season. That's not to excuse what Gettleman did or didn't do. Just a general point about the salary cap.[Edited on October 17, 2016 at 11:27 AM. Reason : .]
10/17/2016 11:26:30 AM
Of course you hold back what amounts to retainage in most situations for a "break glass in case of emergency" signing, but that's the 5th most cap money in the league and we did absolutely nothing with it.
10/17/2016 12:34:26 PM
Let's remember that we lost 3 games due to either missing a late FG or the other team making one. We could just as easily be 4-2 instead of 1-5. We had our share of lucky breaks last year not to mention staying relatively healthy until late in the year. Obviously that doesn't completely excuse going from 6-0 to 1-5, but it goes to show how thin the line is between contender and fraud in this league. Ah well.
10/17/2016 1:41:24 PM
Revisionist history here but I understand RR's complaining to the league about the Denver game being Week 1. It set the wrong tone for the season and felt like punishment having to go out there and play that after the Super Bowl as opposed to opening up at home like an NFC champ should be granted by the schedule makers.
10/17/2016 2:20:03 PM
Don't forget that if you don't use cap space it doesn't just disappear. We get the "extra" cap space next year when it rolls over which is a pretty huge advantage. If we can manage to finish in last place in the division we get to play all the last place teams next year. Add that to a ton of cap space and high draft picks and we are right back in the mix competitively. You simply can't have no pass rush and no secondary. That's a deadly combo. Hardy is out there for real cheap...[Edited on October 21, 2016 at 9:14 PM. Reason : A]
10/21/2016 9:12:33 PM
Hardy is doing MMA now.
10/22/2016 11:24:18 AM
Yeah because no team will sign him for some dumb reason
10/22/2016 1:02:39 PM
Probably because he's not a very good football player anymore. Did you forget his stint in Dallas? I believe he had one good game.
10/22/2016 1:33:31 PM
He's not employed because he was a locker room cancer. After someone stomps his ass out in MMA maybe he will come back. I'm sure they'll set him up against a few tin cans so he can make a name for himself but absolutely no way he doesn't get manhandled once every he reaches a real competitor. You can't just learn wrestling and ju jitsu that fast. His athleticism and size is elite enough to get himself into the top 30 heavyweights or so if he has any real skills/work ethic but I can't see him ever winning a ufc match and he might get his ass handed to him by anyone on a Bellator card as well
10/22/2016 2:02:43 PM
Refs throwing us a bone
10/30/2016 1:09:50 PM
^Yeah, that definitely was not a fumble Am I crazy or was there not a single commercial break the entire first quarter?
10/30/2016 1:34:50 PM
Shades of last years games. We have to keep the foot on the gas and not let AZ come back in the second half.
10/30/2016 2:01:58 PM
I actually hope that was an interception and isn't overturned. Better than almost any punt we could make.[Edited on October 30, 2016 at 2:10 PM. Reason : oh we are going for it, nevermind. forgot it was only 1 yard to go]
10/30/2016 2:08:01 PM
Pack BBall team is there
10/30/2016 2:46:41 PM
Another helmet-to-helmet hit on Cam. No call
10/30/2016 3:11:54 PM
sweet mother, ANOTHER dirty hit. That's 3 dirty plays in 4 plays. What the hell, refs, get control of the game
10/30/2016 3:13:47 PM
^its hard to watch sometimesBut man Jstew is so fun to watch, he's having an awesome game
10/30/2016 3:17:08 PM
Going to try and give this game away?
10/30/2016 4:08:13 PM
lol cardinals gonna lose to some shitty 1-5 team.
10/30/2016 4:16:52 PM
Thought the secondary played well for being so young. Credit to the coaches.
10/30/2016 6:45:06 PM
if Green Bay holds on, we'll be 1.5 games out of first[Edited on October 30, 2016 at 7:31 PM. Reason : welp]
10/30/2016 7:12:16 PM
^^ amazing what happens when you get a pass rush
10/30/2016 8:51:21 PM
^yeah really, felt like today proved pass rush was the most lacking/shittiest part of our team all season which is kind of what i thought
10/31/2016 12:05:57 AM
Interesting comments from Cam in regards to late/bad hits he keeps taking with no calls (or bullshit off setting penalties).I think there is some truth there, and have cringed more times than I care to count watching him take hits this season. No one, NO ONE, makes me feel guilty while watching football quite like he does. At the same time, I can distinctly remember myself getting pissed when the panthers defense didn't lay nasty hits on Vick every time he carried the ball back in the day. My guess is the NFL does nothing.
10/31/2016 10:04:02 AM
ahhhh....so this is what winning feels like. almost forgot.
10/31/2016 10:07:46 AM
^^ It's not the hits he takes while running that he's complaining about. He takes hits in the pocket that would get flagged for any other QB.
10/31/2016 10:25:15 PM
Haven't seen the Panthers live since I think 2008. Very excited to see them in LA this week.Any other TWWers out west going to the game?[Edited on November 1, 2016 at 5:33 PM. Reason : -]
