$18.5 million is just the guaranteed money he's making this year ($16mil in salary and bonuses for this year and a roster bonus for next year which is fully guaranteed.) His base salary for next year is like $12 million and $14 million the year after that, so in all likelihood he'll be cut after this year, unless Mitchell is just absolutely terrible or pulls a Teddy Bridgewater.

If he was on the roster for 3 years he'd make $45 million, but he essentially signed a 1 year $18.5 million deal

I hate it for Glennon, but I think this is more of a John Fox/shitty Bears team problem.

- Glennon plays against first team defenses in pre-season and struggles
- Trubisky plays second team and flourishes
- Glennon gets named season starter based on experience
- Glennon struggles in Bears offense in regular season
- coach doesn't realize his players and offense sucks, so he switches to guy that gets the hype
- Trubisky takes over...

In the end Glennon wins for getting paid $16 million and not getting injured.

Fox had no choice. The public was demanding it.

Bears have a decent defense and running backs. Receivers are trash.

With that's said, Glenn in has made bad reads and throws and has held on to the ball too long, causing fumbles. If all those fumbles were incompletes, he might still have a job.

They also have way too many procedural errors, so that doesn't inspire confidence in glennon
