whoa whoa whoa. I said Udonis Haslem could sway the series. He clearly swayed this game.I said i dont think he could possibly be in shape if hes not playing bc it made no sense. But spoelstra's been struggling all season so who knows...The Bulls fake coach of the year played kover so much i dont remember what brewer looks like. That hurt.
5/18/2011 11:38:55 PM
who shouldve been coach of the year? Kurt Rambis?
5/18/2011 11:43:31 PM
Spoelstra's entire life is going to be defined in the next few weeks. Either win and become the next big name coach in the NBA or lose and start over back at the bottom. I really don't see any in-between for this guy.

geez i was right about the drunk part.Rose sucks my god

Derrick Rose is a fantastic player and has an arguably greater resume than Lebron's first three years. He certainly has the potential to be an all-time great and may eventually carry the "best player in the world" title, given that he's only 22. But to say he's the best player in the league currently (like Adande, Bulls homers, and LBJ haters) is absolutely incorrect.
5/19/2011 12:45:08 PM
Lebron...Shaq...Chris WebberSomeone once called these guys "93% guys". All the talent in the world, great players, but you never felt like they fully harnessed all their talents. Seemed to leave just a little on the table every time out.At least he's not in the Carter/McGrady camp of guys who never got close to realizing their potential.
5/19/2011 12:47:50 PM
^Which one of the three do not belong?
5/19/2011 12:49:18 PM
Shaq played his way into shape the majority of the seasons he was still a dominant player. He weighed close to 400 pounds during much of his Lakers tenure. If he had truly dedicated himself all year like Jordan and Howard, he would've been dropping 30/15/3 every night, and he would have made more than a cursory attempt to improve his foul shooting.
5/19/2011 12:52:09 PM
I was going for two of them are top 20 all-time player quality, while the other will not sniff the HOF.
5/19/2011 12:55:45 PM
5/19/2011 12:56:32 PM
Lebron doesn't give a shit....stated as fact in this thread.
5/19/2011 12:58:35 PM
5/19/2011 1:48:41 PM
Mark how are you gonna say Lebron is by far the best player in the league then point out he has no post game or jump shot?I think Wade is the best player on the Heat. I suppose you could argue that lbj is better than rose but its a closeone
5/19/2011 2:22:43 PM
LeBron is the most talented player in the league, but while he's a relatively hard worker, you can't compare him to the guys who eat, sleep, drink and piss basketball 24/7. You can't really blame LeBron; he's just not wired that way. Few are, in any profession. I could be a much better employee if I cared as much about work as some people here, but I don't, so I'm not.But give Kobe or Ray Allen LeBron's physical gifts and the MVP trophy would be on absolute lockdown until 2017.
5/19/2011 2:29:34 PM
I didn't say he has no jump shot, just that he's streaky. He buried 3 long jump shots late in the 4th quarter last night. There isn't a single player alive who is great at every aspect of the game. Kobe used to be that person but he's declining (and even at his best his passing was never as good as Lebron's). Wade isn't as good of a defender or shooter as James, and he's much smaller (he is a better slasher). Wade is a dominant player, as is Rose; neither are as good as Lebron right now.
5/19/2011 2:35:10 PM
5/19/2011 2:37:16 PM
^Turns out neither of us are correct as far as the shooting - it's basically a wash.http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/1966/lebron-jameshttp://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/1987/dwyane-wadeWade is definitely not known as a shooter, and he's certainly not "much better" than James. There are definitely nights where Wade is the best player on the Heat. There are also nights where Chris Bosh is the best player on the Heat (game 1)[Edited on May 19, 2011 at 2:43 PM. Reason : so the heat wasn't under pressure in the 4th when Lebron hit those shots?][Edited on May 19, 2011 at 2:47 PM. Reason : 1]
5/19/2011 2:41:47 PM
So we're just ignoring numbers now? Wade's best 3 point shooting season is comparable to LeBron's worst.
5/19/2011 2:41:49 PM
neither of them are great outside shootersWade is by far a better FT shooter though
5/19/2011 2:42:41 PM
Don't backtrack so easily. You said Wade was a much better three point shooter. How so?
5/19/2011 2:43:51 PM
i said he's a much better shooter, and he is a better shooter from the line or inside the arci got carried away with the 3 point comparisonLebron has no touch, he's just a ball of brute energy]
5/19/2011 2:44:31 PM
Career FT%:Wade - 77%James - 74%That's like saying Dirk's FT performance in game 1 was leagues ahead of Durant's.[Edited on May 19, 2011 at 2:46 PM. Reason : So Lebron has minimal to no skill; he's just an energy guy.]
5/19/2011 2:45:33 PM
Refrain from using Wade's shooting as an argument for his superiority. Its one of the weakest aspects of his game.
5/19/2011 2:48:07 PM
Wade is 80% career in the playoffs to Lebron's 74% in the playoffsobviously he has skill, he just has no touch, which is evident by him missing free throws and layups last nighthe's basically mini Dwight Howard with a better jumpernobody as arguing Lebron's freakish athleticismbut that doesnt win titles, not in 8 years at least]
5/19/2011 2:48:40 PM
LOL, c'mon man. Weak analogy.
5/19/2011 2:49:21 PM
he can also run faster than Dwighthappy now?
5/19/2011 2:50:17 PM
LeBron is a better shooter from deep than Jordan Couple scrubs I guess
5/19/2011 2:52:08 PM
Kobe is just a mini Shaq, with a better jump shot.
5/19/2011 2:52:18 PM
don't call me out for my analogies and come up with bullshit like thatKobe and Shaq are built nothing alikeLebron and Dwight are both built like running backs and just happen to be tall
5/19/2011 2:58:10 PM
I remember when you used to be a worthy opponent. Seems like a long time ago.
5/19/2011 3:00:48 PM
I remember when winning championships meant more than potential
5/19/2011 3:01:25 PM
Fine. Nate Robinson is like a mini-Big Baby, with a better jump shot.
5/19/2011 3:02:53 PM
Jordan was an aberration. Big Men win titles. Guards help them out.
5/19/2011 3:02:59 PM
looks like whoever wins this year is gonna be another aberrationunless you consider Dirk a big man
5/19/2011 3:06:46 PM
in wake forest's case, big men* win titties, guards help them out*hoping gary clark was a big man, otherwise joke doesn't work...cant remember much about him]
5/19/2011 3:06:50 PM
Nah, he's a just a little guy.
5/19/2011 3:07:25 PM
He's 7 feet tall, Jimmy
5/19/2011 3:07:45 PM
Durant must be a big man too thenI figured when you said "big men win titles" you meant guys like Duncan and Olajuwon who play like big mennot 7 foot jump shooters like Dirk]
5/19/2011 3:08:23 PM
5/19/2011 3:10:34 PM
Durant and Lebron aren't big men. Dirk is. Dirk has played center for significant stretches.
5/19/2011 3:10:58 PM
of all the 7 footers in the league, Dirk probably also plays the least like a typical big man
5/19/2011 3:16:32 PM
TreeTwista making terrible arguments ITT.
5/19/2011 3:20:00 PM
my only terrible argument was forgetting that Wade wasn't a great outside shooter either
5/19/2011 3:20:47 PM
Lebron's step-back jumpshot is unguardable, and deadly when he is hitting. He is absolutely a better jump-shooter than Wade, and his range extends well past the arc. Free throws are obviously a weakness, but to call him a brute and compare him to Howard is a goddamn joke.[Edited on May 19, 2011 at 3:25 PM. Reason : 2]
5/19/2011 3:21:32 PM
i compared his physique to HowardLebron and Howard have much more similar bodytypes than say, Howard to Yao or Bynumwhich is evident by Yao and Bynum always being hurt and Howard and Lebron never being injured in their careersbecause Lebron and Howard are both physical freaks]
5/19/2011 3:22:36 PM
The Lebron/Howard comparisons were spot on though, as their similar shooting and assist numbers will attest.
5/19/2011 3:22:38 PM
5/19/2011 3:34:50 PM
Cold day in hell before he admits that. He's as hard as Kenard.
5/19/2011 3:39:03 PM
if the Heat win it all this year, I'll happily concede that LBJ is the best in the league, even if its Wade who takes the shots at the end of close gamesbut until then it'll just be a bunch of people crowning somebody who has never won anything because they're infatuated with how absurdly strong and athletic he ispeople arguing on TWW doesn't prove anything, winning championships does]
