We almost gave the game back to a really terrible team and we had an embarrassing week I'd dial back the bragging and trash talk

All from same guy and his brother, a pair of UNC-G Tar Heel fans:
1/27/2013 10:33:22 AM
it's desperation insults. they have no real comeback because they simply got outplayed and outmatched, so they'll cling onto anything to insult us.

Yup.
1/27/2013 4:41:03 PM
Oh no not the totally objective and consistent U.S. News academic ranking!!!
1/27/2013 5:42:58 PM
this is great, because the people I know who actually go/went to carolina were all congratulatory and nice about the whole thing.
1/27/2013 5:57:18 PM
The tarhole fan I saw today seemed butthurt as he handed me the fries out the window.

"To all my NcState puppies out there, I quote Roy Williams..."You better get us now because we don't rebuild, we just reload" Enjoy it while it lasts State"
1/28/2013 7:53:00 AM
i have talked so much shit to unc fans this weekend...about pulling for a school they didnt go to
1/28/2013 8:46:14 AM
I would hope Roy Williams wasn't actually dumb enough to say that.
1/28/2013 8:47:44 AM
nah, he prolly said he didnt give a shit
1/28/2013 8:56:34 AM
my bro is a unc grad. hes got a pretty baller job. he also doesnt make any of these stupid comments im seeing
1/28/2013 9:23:50 AM
maybe they really are classier than us
1/28/2013 9:32:11 AM
You're confusing 'fans' with 'graduates' again. The two are not wholly the same. *Walmart fans*
1/28/2013 9:39:17 AM
Both of my siblings are UNC graduates and neither of them care when UNC is playing. Both are gainfully employed too. There is a correlation.
1/28/2013 9:42:50 AM
I didn't get into UNC as an undergrad but I got into Columbia for grad school so they can suck it.Honestly though.......UNC is overrated and their "flagship" status, in my opinion, is questionable. NCSU is not only getting harder to get into but the strengths of the university are far more relevant in this day and age. We've got science, engineering, and design. They've got liberal arts. Do I need to reiterate the previous comments about UNC grads not finding jobs? NCSU was ranked in the 60's for engineering in 2005 when I started. We are now in the 30's and it's only going to get better from there.
1/28/2013 11:38:38 PM
all their flagship / academics talk is just generally a broken record that people still repeati'm sure some of it is legitimate school pride, which anybody who attends any school would do, ie "i went to School X so I think School X is the best" which is finebut UNC fans usually just pull that stuff out after a loss / NCAA investigation / negative newspaper article as another way for them to deflect negative things about their universityoh you got beat by NC State? better bring up NC State rushing the court after beating Duke, cause therefore you don't have to admit you lost a game
1/28/2013 11:48:01 PM
I know plenty of UNC grads without "baller assed jobs." Just because you have some uncle that graduated from UNC 10 years ago and makes 6 figures in NYC right now doesn't make it the standard. I'm not saying their academics are a joke, and they have decent programs there, but mostly graduate programs. They have pre-med, pre-dental and so forth, but mostly no one I knew that went there was successful without a graduate program. My decision to not attend UNC was based on what seemed to be a limited amount of things I could have done there after undergrad without getting more degrees. Also, these people talk just as much shit as the next guy. I was at a bar in Durham watching the UNC/State game and it was chock FULL of mostly UNC former students. Don't let them make you think they don't care; they were selling the bars out over here on Saturday with their light blue attire. I was so gracious that, for the entire time, they had little if anything to cheer for.[Edited on January 29, 2013 at 12:25 AM. Reason : k]

I was accepted to UNC, but chose the NCState.Because I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I knew it was something with math or science, and my dad is an alumni, and because I got a weird vibe when visiting UNC on one of my college visit days. But I do know a few good guys and gals who graduated from UNC.
1/29/2013 12:16:33 AM
my mom took me on a tour of unc when i was in hs and some lady running a q&a session said i probably wouldn't get in since no one in my family went there. i guess she was hinting i shouldn't even bother. wtf bitch? oh well, i didn't even end up applying because i really liked state after visiting.
1/29/2013 6:42:56 AM
Only reason for going to UNC is to bone stuck up broads.
1/29/2013 9:08:34 AM
1/29/2013 9:11:11 AM
^^^ They told me that since my granddad was an alumni and not my Dad that I probably wouldn't get in. I figured it was in the best interest of the tour group to not mention I had been accepted early.
1/29/2013 10:15:39 AM
I've grown up a huge State fan so I always knew where I was going, but I applied to UNC since my mom went there (she grew up a State fan, still a State fan now). Didn't get in though and then found out my soon to be roommate for my freshman year at State got into UNC with a lower high school GPA. I emailed UNC admissions asking if they could provide any insight as to why and they replied and said I had incomplete SAT records - found out that because I had an apostrophe in my name they split my records into 2 separate files. Told them that State's admissions dept seemed to have no issues with inputting a name correctly. After the FB investigation got going for a few months I unfriended pretty much everyone that I knew that went to UNC and cared about sports. The amount of stuff they were posting about how the NCAA ruined their shot at a national championship got to be too much. News feed is a lot easier to deal with now. I got accepted to all three triangle schools and chose State, I sometimes regret the decision but then I remember how much money I saved and am okay with it.
1/29/2013 10:55:09 AM
Funny you mention the ability to get a job...McCrory is proposing a change in the funding structure...which means not as much money for liberal arts programshttp://projects.newsobserver.com/under_the_dome/mccrory_wants_to_revamp_higher_ed_funding_takes_aim_at_uncchapel_hill#storylink=cpySorry UNC
1/29/2013 11:21:55 AM
The only issues I have with anything UNC is the obnoxious fans that can't take a loss without backpedaling or throwing up historical stats. Just take your lumps like a goddamn man and stop being such a little bitch about it.
1/29/2013 11:32:18 AM
^^Yea, oh darn. I guess AFAM, Peace, War & Defense and other liberal arts won't get as much funding. Hell with that measure though, my school will probably get an increase in funding.
