Don't know if anybody has mentioned this, but don't waste your time/money going to IMAX at Marbles for TDKR. It's not even on film.
7/25/2012 9:47:12 AM
^what do you mean?
7/25/2012 10:04:52 AM
The entire reason I paid extra to see it at Marbles was that a large portion of the movie was shot on 70mm film, which is absolutely breathtaking. I guess i should have done my research, but Marbles isn't showing TDKR on film (they showed The Dark Knight on 70mm). Watching it on a digital projector that is of noticeably worse quality than 35mm film for $15.50/ticket after fees is a fucking ripoff.
7/25/2012 10:08:41 AM
^i see. thanks for the explanation.
7/25/2012 10:14:32 AM
Do any theaters around here show it on 70 mm film?
7/25/2012 10:51:49 AM
even still, marbles is going to be a much better experience than crossroads IMAX. the screen is still drastically bigger and the sound is much better in comparison. I cant wait to see this tonight at Marbles
7/25/2012 11:05:03 AM
True, the sound was very, very good at Marbles. The only NC theater showing it on 70 is IMAX in Charlotte.
7/25/2012 11:15:16 AM
IMAX in Charlotte is actually an OmniMAX dome, if you're talking about Discovery Place. The IMAX theaters at Stonecrest aren't actually IMAX screens, to the best of my knowledge.

7/25/2012 11:55:16 AM
I think Kodiak mentioned it a few pages ago, but the closest 70 mm IMAX is in Virginia Beachsince the Myrtle Beach one is closed[Edited on July 25, 2012 at 12:33 PM. Reason : and yes, Charlotte's Discovery Place is a dome]
7/25/2012 12:32:10 PM
before the marbles show, the guy with the microphone said that marbles imax was the only giant screen in NC. he said it about 5 times.
7/25/2012 2:09:03 PM
^screen, yes. 70mm film, no.
7/25/2012 2:40:41 PM
Discovery Place sucks for watching movies. It's like a whole semi circle above your head, you can never see everything at once.
7/25/2012 2:43:25 PM
nobody cares. talk about the dark knight rises some more![Edited on July 25, 2012 at 3:44 PM. Reason : or make an imax thread]
7/25/2012 3:44:38 PM
Whatever, Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeg.

7/25/2012 6:41:39 PM
totally going to be that guy here by mentioning that the basketball game in the background of the bar scene with Catwoman looked a hell of a lot like the court at PNC Arenajust sayin'also, Bane's voice was fucking PERFECT
7/25/2012 10:48:10 PM
Sorry I was to busy watching catwoman.BTW I loved the return of batman's "whereare they" line from TDK.
7/26/2012 12:52:17 AM
hehe, i'm sure someone will do a batman-bane video where bane can't understand a single word he says
7/26/2012 6:39:08 AM
^
7/26/2012 8:16:57 AM
More like where neither of them can understand each other.
7/26/2012 8:41:47 AM
Other Ra's al Ghul prodigies:
7/26/2012 9:27:31 AM
7/26/2012 11:52:51 AM
his inflection was perfectly creepy
7/26/2012 11:55:27 AM
maybe its because my ears work but i understood everything he said for the entire movie
7/26/2012 12:54:10 PM
thegoodlife3 I thought so too, so I paid more attention to it the 2nd time and it looked more darker than our red. Also, they show a shot of a player before you see the court and it's not our jersey style.
7/26/2012 1:26:25 PM
hahahahayou are the only person on here that I would classify as the authority on this subject so I believe you 100%. I was looking forward to seeing it again just so I could look harder but now I don't have to worry about it
7/26/2012 1:33:21 PM
It couldn't have been a State game because wolfdawg4 was not in the shot.
7/26/2012 3:10:44 PM
SPOILERS (really shouldn't have to say at this point but whatever)If Talia was the one who originally escaped, doesn't that make Bane's speech about being born into the darkness BS?
7/26/2012 7:49:46 PM
That it does.
7/26/2012 7:50:35 PM
Unless...IT'S A METAPHOR!
7/26/2012 8:08:33 PM
its not a metaphor its lazy writing
7/26/2012 8:18:52 PM
did he say he was born in the prison? or just refer to darkness? i can't really remember that part
7/26/2012 8:23:16 PM
I thought he just referred to the darkness. If he said prison, consider my chipmunk un-dramatized.

I agree that the audio was way off on Bane's voice. so obviously ADR'd, never sounded quite right.I enjoyed the movie though. trying not to overthink it because there is a lot there to nitpick, but who cares. I still think Batman Begins is my favorite of the three. Dark Knight my least favorite.
7/26/2012 10:35:30 PM
Spoilers?I loved bane's death. Such a theatrical fuck getting unceremoniously blasted and never mentioned again was amazing.
7/26/2012 10:40:34 PM
spoilers?^ thatand
7/27/2012 1:37:33 AM
He could also have been intentionally misleading Batman in case he ever started digging into that background. Anything to keep Talia safe and undiscovered.
7/27/2012 7:47:24 AM
How did bane figure out batmans identity?
7/27/2012 9:04:12 AM
Something I was thinking about after I left but have not seen again. What was the rope in the pit tied to? Instead of tying it to their waist I was just thinking where they would end up if they just climbed the rope?[Edited on July 27, 2012 at 9:24 AM. Reason : Can't spell for shit]
7/27/2012 9:23:33 AM
^^Haven't seen the movie, but doesn't Ra's al Ghul and by extension the League of Shadows know Batman's secret identity?
7/27/2012 9:42:03 AM
^^ it was tied to a point about half way up the wall
7/27/2012 10:05:49 AM
^^it was anchored 1/2 way up the climb, giving some limited help if you couldn't make the jump. If you made it much higher, the rope wouldn't help anyways.
7/27/2012 10:09:03 AM
7/27/2012 10:49:26 AM
^ Looking back at the movie, I assume he knew because Talia knew. Not much to figure out.
