versus baby. It's what real sports fans have.Oh.....and GAME OVER
6/2/2010 11:13:55 PM
that was oddly similar to how they scored against Boston in OT in Game 4
6/2/2010 11:16:16 PM
man i am in a hotel room that doesn't get versusjesus christ
6/2/2010 11:21:52 PM
Still not sold on that 2nd Flyers goal crossing the goal line. That overhead angle is bogus as the camera is clearly not directly over the goal line. You put that camera right over the goal line and I can almost guarantee there's no white between the puck and the goal line. Certainly not enough evidence to overturn the no goal call made on the ice.[Edited on June 2, 2010 at 11:28 PM. Reason : ..]
6/2/2010 11:27:44 PM
I still find it rediculously stupid that they can't install a camera directly over the crossbar. It seems like there is always a call just like this one every playoffs.
6/2/2010 11:48:04 PM
wooohoo Flyers baby! Time to even it up on friday.
6/3/2010 12:15:46 AM
^^ Of course they can install a camera directly above the crossbar...but then the crossbar blocks the view of the goal line. While the goal line and the crossbar are the same width (at least in theory), the fact that the crossbar is four feet closer to the camera means that a camera directly above the line cannot provide 100% accurate proof of whether or not the puck completely crossed the line. The current camera position just in front of the crossbar was adopted a few years ago; previously the camera was directly above the crossbar and there was just as much controversy as there is now.In a perfect world, there would be three overhead cameras directly above/just in front of/just behind the crossbar, as well as the two in-net cameras, but in the interest of practicality, the current option is the best one. ]
6/3/2010 3:48:55 AM
shit was just fucked in general. So the Blackhawks just straight up lose two minutes of 5 on 5 because of that shit?
6/3/2010 3:56:15 AM
That's how the game works. If someone had been ejected from the game for a hit from behind in that intervening time, that penalty would also be nullified as if it had never happened.
6/3/2010 3:58:16 AM
WELL NOW THEY CAN WIN IT IN CHI-TOWN.and I get that, but it's weird that the two minutes of PP time still happened. It seems like a clock reset would make more sense, as opposed to them saying, "welp, bye ~two minutes."at what time did the goal occur? if the goal occured at 8:46 into the period, then the ENSUING FACEOFF was at like 10:00.WEIRD SHIT.I think I'm still drunk.[Edited on June 3, 2010 at 4:10 AM. Reason : .]
6/3/2010 4:02:18 AM
i'm not sure what you're askingthe goal occurred at 10:05they played for another minute or so until a stoppage, and when they saw it was a goal, they rewound the clock to 10:05i'm not sure why you think chicago lost 5-on-5 time, they were on the kill when the goal was scored and continued to kill after the original no goal call...obviously it went back to EV when it was called a goal
6/3/2010 4:53:06 AM
Solution: put a sensor in the puck and track that thing down to the millimeter. DONE[Edited on June 3, 2010 at 6:49 AM. Reason : I agree that it probably didn't cross and the angled view made it look like it crossed]
6/3/2010 6:48:14 AM
^They did something like that a few years ago so that they could light the puck up on the screen, a lot of players complained they felt the puck felt different.
6/3/2010 6:58:40 AM
They rewound the clock?Oh.I thought they didn't.NM.
6/3/2010 10:04:13 AM
6/3/2010 9:50:26 PM
6/3/2010 9:54:53 PM
^^ at that point, it might as well be in. and i don't give a fuck about the flyers.without cameras inside of the posts you aren't going to get that perfect angle.
6/3/2010 9:56:03 PM
if interested, check out this whole thread on the HF boards regarding the Hartnell goal:http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=782639people busting out diagrams, protractors, calculators, etc.
6/3/2010 10:22:17 PM
brett hull was in the crease
6/3/2010 10:31:37 PM
that screen shot by bolt is not even as deep as the puck got.... at that angle no the puck isnt in, but it did advance further
6/4/2010 8:30:53 AM
^^ Yeah but nobody gave a fuck. And you know why? Because FUCK BUFFALO, that's why.
6/4/2010 12:35:23 PM
The flyers are a fucking disgrace to the game.
6/4/2010 8:58:00 PM
WHOLE LEE FUCK - who's cock did the flyers suck to get these calls. UNREAL.
6/4/2010 9:44:51 PM
Leino is the man
6/4/2010 10:30:16 PM
^ His shot was going three feet wide.
6/4/2010 10:37:50 PM
Can they look at that? That should've been a penalty shot for Chicago. ]
6/4/2010 10:58:08 PM
hard to tell if he actually covered it or just batted it away
6/4/2010 11:10:22 PM
seriously unreal officiating, i am hoarse from yelling at the tv. I mean blatant hooks not being called, penalty on seabrook i think for pushing jeff carter was ridiculous and sharps "slash" my god. also, hjalmarson needs to sit the pine
6/5/2010 1:55:57 AM
^^ He put his hand on top of it, which is all that's needed for it to be a "cover."
6/5/2010 12:09:45 PM
6/5/2010 12:20:10 PM
The Chicago Tribune on Philadelphia:
6/5/2010 1:33:40 PM
dirtbag team, asshole city.
6/5/2010 1:51:14 PM
Brilliant strategy NHL/NBC. Lets go head to head with a NBA finals on ABC between the Lakes and the Celtics...
6/6/2010 11:17:52 AM
i think that's more because the NBA decided to take an extra day off in between games for whatever the hell the reason was... the NHL isn't gonna take an extra day too because they did.
6/6/2010 11:29:59 AM
Then start the game at 5. I just don't see how it makes sense to go head to head with the obviously higher grossing/rating sport for the NHL.Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those douches who comes in to a thread to say "xxxx sport sucks" and I love hockey but I don't see how this is a very smart move. It's going to kill whatever ratings they would have otherwise had.
6/6/2010 11:33:47 AM
People that watch hockey are going to watch hockey.
6/6/2010 8:25:28 PM
the beginning of this game has been nuts.no idea how chicago hasnt scored yet
6/6/2010 8:33:40 PM
^^that. and chicago and philadelphia are two of the other largest tv markets in the country along with Boston and LA. The only thing that may suffer is the Boston market since they are a pretty big hockey market, but the celtics will get the draw in this case
6/6/2010 8:38:53 PM
^^^ Well, I'm a hockey fan but I am more interested in the NBA Finals this year. If it wasn't competing I'd definitely be watching the hockey and I'm sure I'm not the only one...As a sport that is trying desperately to gain traction in the United States I just don't think it was wise to go up against the NBA Finals -- just my opinion.]
6/6/2010 8:47:17 PM
fuck basketball
6/6/2010 9:11:32 PM
scoring in this game is out of control
6/6/2010 9:27:16 PM
Chicago defense is soft on coverage, so Niemi overplays, which forces the D to collapse off their men even more.
6/6/2010 9:41:49 PM
Damn, that Fratellis song is catchy.
6/6/2010 9:49:58 PM
the first philly goal was embarrassing
6/6/2010 9:54:12 PM
-5 for pronger
6/6/2010 10:53:33 PM

6/7/2010 8:32:24 AM
I freaking love the Chicago goal song. That song makes me laugh every time I hear it.
6/7/2010 3:28:45 PM
Leighton or Boucher for Game 6 - thoughts?
