I hope the wife gets turned into a zombie. It would improve both her looks and her personality.

Will there be a thread for S2?Anyway, sneak peek of S2 during premiere of Breaking Bad, sunday at 10
7/14/2011 7:52:25 AM
Does anyone have a torrent for the last 10 issues of the comic? I downloaded a torrent when the show came out in November and haven't found any since. After reading all the comics, I am sad that the show has no chance to follow the comics at this point.
7/14/2011 8:10:32 AM
Lets talk more about the comics, maybe compare and contrast?
7/14/2011 9:19:08 AM
excited for this to start again, enjoyed the last season.

were the rumors about them getting new writers true? not gonna be worth watching if it's the same writers.
7/22/2011 4:26:45 PM
from an interview with Frank Darabont, take from it what you will:
7/22/2011 4:33:54 PM
I think they did get a couple new writers since season 1, but I can't remember what their pedigrees are...
7/22/2011 4:40:02 PM
Frank Darabont out as showrunner.Glen Mazzarra to head remainder of S2]
7/28/2011 12:14:07 PM
per ^
7/28/2011 1:11:52 PM
Hopefully better than the 1st season, I love the comic books.
7/28/2011 1:27:28 PM
Mazzara's track record as a showrunner is pretty shitty (Hawthorne and Crash).
7/28/2011 1:49:58 PM
well Darabont wasn't exactly killing it as showrunner eitherI really hope this show gets better this season
7/28/2011 2:08:00 PM
You could argue that Darabont was the one halfway keeping it on the rails, and without him it will get even worse. I don't know that that is necessarily the case but it's certainly possible.
7/28/2011 2:11:59 PM
hm I guess. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't a lot of the scenes taken directly from the graphic novel? It was only 6 episodes too - it's not like he had to maneuver through an entire season. Aside from people who just like zombies and will watch anything with zombies in it regardless of how shitty the writing is (plenty of people used that justification in here) I think the only thing "keeping it on the rails" was the graphic novel's rep and people hoping the show eventually matches that level. That's the only reason I stuck through it and will come back for S2.
7/28/2011 2:22:45 PM
Nope, pretty much the first episode was taken from the comics...then it went to shit.
7/28/2011 2:24:49 PM
you know it was an awesome pilot if it made people stick around through 5 terrible episodes(me included)kinda wish they could just kill most of the characters they have and start over
7/28/2011 3:05:09 PM
Exactly, episode one was extremely faithful to the comic and was legitimately good tv, then they introduced a whole bunch of shitty one dimensional characters and added unnecessary plot lines.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/walking-dead-what-happened-fired-221449Apparently Darabont got fired, mid episode.
8/11/2011 6:57:50 PM
Good. I never realized he was the director of The Mist. What a shit bag one hit wonder (the hit being Shawshank Redemption)
8/11/2011 10:43:52 PM
yea i recently rewatched the mist, and remembered that i didn't really every want to see it again. oops.
8/11/2011 10:49:39 PM
^^ Shawshank was a huge hit. He also did The Green Mile, which i thought was pretty good. Maybe not as good as Shawshank, but very good. Of course, both are Stephen King stories... so maybe he should get a lot of credit there. Darabont also wrote the Frankenstein movie with DeNiro.. which was decent. A lot of big name directors don't really have that many movies.Having directed both Shawshank and the Green mile goes a long way. Enough so that it gives him plenty of credit in TV land. Plus, after reading that article, I think it's more to do with their VP. Apparently the show runner for Madmen (their longest running show, i believe) won't even talk to the guy.

AMC announced the premiere is going to be 90 minutes, and that they are splitting season 2 into blocks with 6 episodes to air in the fall and 6 to air starting in February.
9/1/2011 4:22:13 PM
ughhhh ok ABC Family
9/1/2011 4:25:40 PM
Are they trying to make this show fail? Waiting three months in the middle of the season is an awful trend in current TV. I'd rather wait until January and watch all 12 back to back.
9/1/2011 4:34:00 PM
^agreed.
9/1/2011 4:43:00 PM
I also agree that I dislike this trend, but this show is made to premier during the Halloween season and if they let it run the midpoint would fall right around Christmas and would kill the ratings. I think AMC know people will watch this season but unless they really produce something great their hot streak might be coming to an end.
9/1/2011 5:50:18 PM
9/1/2011 7:40:19 PM
idk, the more I think about this, the more I like it. I do hate the trend of splitting regular seasons generally. But considering that TWD was only 6 episodes last season, this is a little different.I have hated the wait since the end of last season. This will give me the same amount of episodes I had last season, and then another 6 in a much shorter time-frame than what I waited this time around. And then there will (hopefully) be another 6 in a relatively short time-frame.So yeah, I'm gonna look at it like they're keeping the seasons the same length but are airing seasons twice as often. It's all about perspective.
9/1/2011 11:49:32 PM
http://www.amctv.com/shows/the-walking-dead6 Webisodes are up detailing the events of how the bicycle zombie came to be. Each one is 2-3 mins long.

^Those are pretty awesome, thanks for the link! Looking forward to the series
10/5/2011 12:20:59 PM
I heard the first two episodes of season 2 are the best they've done since the pilot.
10/11/2011 2:11:53 PM
Season 1 is on Netflix instant now.I might re-watch and see if it's any better on the second viewing. Need a little refresher before S2 starts anyways so even if it still sucks, I'll probably at least watch the last episode again.
10/13/2011 12:22:51 PM
