^What's the source of that? i still don't see a lot of precip on the radar...unless you're talking about the stuff way to the west...even that doesn't look too impressive
3/2/2010 4:57:57 PM
That's from Alan Huffman's blog: http://www.examiner.com/x-4053-Raleigh-Weather-Examiner~y2010m3d2-Snowstorm-to-affect-the-triangle-tonight. He has a pretty good explanation for what he thinks will happen.[Edited on March 2, 2010 at 5:00 PM. Reason : ]
3/2/2010 4:59:50 PM
he said by 6-8PM accumulating snow over the triangle.... looks like a big negative so far...he says the precip will fill in as the low heads up the coast, we'll see
3/2/2010 5:02:03 PM
ha, news 14 say we're on the edge of 1-2" and 3-5". I'll believe it when I see it.[Edited on March 2, 2010 at 5:03 PM. Reason : ]
3/2/2010 5:03:20 PM
7PM - 3AM has always been the time for accumulations here once the low comes up the coast.People calling this a bust at 5 PM just have no clue what they're looking at.
3/2/2010 5:07:16 PM
it's allllll rain now. we had some big fat like 2" wide flakes earlier
3/2/2010 5:27:04 PM
the radar does NOT make it look like it will be snowing until 3 or 4am...
3/2/2010 5:34:37 PM
The radar is going to change SIGNIFICANTLY as the low off the coast pivots (is that the right word) the precip. It's already forming some light rain over Raleigh out of seemingly nowhere...[Edited on March 2, 2010 at 5:37 PM. Reason : check out the weather.com time loop over raleigh and you'll see]
3/2/2010 5:37:13 PM
Dry in pittsboro right now
3/2/2010 5:42:47 PM
greg fishel just said the main precip is moving out and we need to find a new mechanism to bring in precip....he did mention the precip down in south carolina...but said we'd just have to watch it
3/2/2010 6:21:05 PM
Still snowing in Greensboro. Nothing sticking to the parking lot but i have about 2 inches on my car. GF said the back road from 40 to our house is starting to get covered[Edited on March 2, 2010 at 6:24 PM. Reason : F]
3/2/2010 6:23:55 PM

3/2/2010 6:40:34 PM

3/2/2010 6:46:02 PM

3/2/2010 7:39:39 PM
Nothing on the road yet here in charlotte, but almost an inch on the cars and still snowing like crazy.
3/2/2010 7:50:28 PM
not shit
3/2/2010 9:16:04 PM
still no snow (and not even any rain) in the 27511
3/2/2010 9:26:58 PM
practically all rain here by crabtree.still above freezing.
3/2/2010 9:32:32 PM
http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interactive/27603?zoom=8&interactiveMapLayer=radar&from=today_nontropical_mapRadar is starting to fill in... The low off the coast is all but stalled (for now) so the precip isn't going anywhere. It's all about the temps. It snows one second and then sleets the next down here a 1/2 mile from downtown.
3/2/2010 9:40:08 PM
last gasp of winter......
3/2/2010 9:40:34 PM
I've seen some mix today, haven't seen pure snow on campus though.
3/2/2010 9:50:55 PM
Oh god, pull through system, pull through!
3/2/2010 9:52:58 PM
Seriously, I hope we at least get some. Watching how North Carolina deals with a little snow is funny as shit.
3/2/2010 9:54:13 PM
weather widget is showing it as slightly overcast tomorrow, but no precipitation.[Edited on March 2, 2010 at 10:29 PM. Reason : ]

I had like 1.5 inches on my car and about 1 inch of slush on the roads at the bell tower.
3/3/2010 1:20:18 AM
Was snowing hard for like two hours on campus. But now it's a mix and it looks like the snow is receding somewhat.Think classes will be affected?
3/3/2010 2:25:32 AM
It turned out to be the lamest event here in charlotte. Maybe got 1/2" on the grass, but only because it was snowing like crazy. Really temps never got low enough. Hopefully nice weather shows up from here on out.
3/3/2010 11:03:54 AM
You had to be in Lee County for this one. I "snow chased" and found the following:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81A5N76x4rw(Sorry don't know how to embed on here). The video shows 2" per hour rates, a couple of power flashes, and where I got stuck for 3 hours on US-1 just south of Sanford due to a stuck semi and car blocking the road.

I am SOOOOOO looking forward to the first part of next week. Highs in the 60s. Now THAT is more like it!
3/4/2010 11:04:32 AM

National Severe Weather Awareness Week! Who else remembers a few years ago when they postponed the tornado drill.....because there was a threat of an actual tornado!
3/5/2010 7:36:51 AM
^Yup, I remember that. We're making the rounds to the schools out here this week and next getting them prepared and educate them more about weather. It's starting to get a little active out here in Oklahoma. Risk of some strong to severe storms on Sunday. We're busy putting together our severe weather show and outfitting the chase vehicles with live streaming video capabilities like the big stations in OKC and Dallas. Looking forward to this spring!
3/5/2010 10:59:23 AM
Spring break is next week, March 15th - 19th. All the 10 day forcasts say it is going to be raining at least at the start of the week. What do you people think?
3/8/2010 1:39:41 PM
I think its a nice day outside.
3/8/2010 2:26:57 PM
hey weather nerds, how do you look up previous days high temperatures? I'm curious what the peak temperatures have been for the last week or so.

4/7/2010 1:07:27 PM
crap, the forecast for rain/Tstorms tomorrow has disappeared
4/7/2010 1:26:32 PM
This is getting crazy for you guys out there! Next POSSIBLE chance for rain would be Thursday night or Friday morning. You should get some decent thunderstorms out of it. Then another large ridge of high pressure dominates the eastern US for at least another week. Could see more record high temps. Every system that has hit us hard with severe weather here in OK just breaks apart before it gets to the East Coast.
4/7/2010 1:44:36 PM
Hasn't rained since March 28th in Raleigh. UGH.
