i just have it in a sleeve and put it in my pocket. If you get a case, make sure it doesn't have a magnetic closure.Just installed the latest bugless beast rom and that thing is blazing. Clocks the droid at 950Mhz and includes wifi tethering with some 2.1 features.http://alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=309&t=1553[Edited on February 1, 2010 at 7:46 PM. Reason : ]

Just got a Droid and yeah that usb cable is short as fuck. Luckily we had about 4 other ones for various other phones laying around I just use one of those.
2/1/2010 8:09:44 PM
it's also a stubborn cable, by that i mean it doesn't easily just dangle and has some weight to it. usually if you keep it curled up long enough it'll want to stay curled up.

how long is battery life at 950mhz
2/1/2010 9:06:31 PM
I've only had it installed for a couple hrs so haven't really had much time to test it. I'll see how it works at work tomorrow. It's supposed to only use the max clock speed when you're doing something and throttles back when idle. Believe the rom is set at 125 min and 950 max. The only issue I've had are the lack of lights on the keyboard and no lights on the touch buttons.
2/1/2010 9:18:44 PM
any idea if they are going to get those thigns fixed?
2/2/2010 8:34:53 AM
They both seem to be working now after resetting the display brightness. I've noticed that some of the widgets and programs have display errors. The bar on my batterylife widget only goes about 3/4 of the way across the widget even when 100% full. The % shows up correctly though. Also the text is a little smushed in weatherbug but nothing major. I did notice a fairly major temp difference last night when using it though. The batterylife widget I use displays temperature and I was getting readings over 105 degrees F with heavy use. That's about 15 over what I was getting on stock 2.0.1. Played around with wifi tethering last night and it works great. I'll have to keep an eye on the temp when I'm using it cause it felt pretty hot last night. Also noticed that the ROM has auto-rotate on the homescreen without having the keyboard out which is pretty convenient. [Edited on February 2, 2010 at 9:14 AM. Reason : ]

How do you change the default launcherRight now im running smokedc glass 3.1 at 800mhz, but the laucnher has crashed a few times, i want to swap back to the 2.0.1 i sent 2.1 to the default and cant for the love of god go back
2/2/2010 11:38:26 AM
I know to reset defaults, you can go to settings-applications-manage applications. Hit the menu button and choose filter and select all. Then choose the app and clear the data under Launch by Default. When I was using the 2.1 launcher, there was an app called Launcher.
2/2/2010 12:15:24 PM
Welp, just plugged it in. Was down to 30% and go ahead and charge it now while I'm at the computer. About 2 hrs of that was steady web browsing so I'm sure I could easily make it through an average day.

looks like native pinch-zoom has made it to the Nexus One for Google maps, browser and the gallery.

^ looks good.... like widgets much? ha.Why not use the power widget instead?
2/6/2010 1:00:51 PM
lol. I bought Beautiful Widgets so I figured I'd go ahead and get my money's worth by using the individual widgets instead of the power control one.

Just tried out Google Listen. I thought it was pretty awesome until I got a phone call.... it switched over to the call no problem, but I was paranoid that maybe it wasn't paused and I skipped some of the podcast I was listening to. So then I realized the playback slider did nothing except start the initial advertisement over again. And the fast forward button seemed to do nothing as well.
2/6/2010 8:51:58 PM
works fine for me, i dunno
2/6/2010 10:31:52 PM
Tried the 2.1 Launcher.apk on my droid for a while, looked cool but it made it too slow and ended up uninstalling. maybe when they actually release 2.1 it'll be faster

Whats teh big clock with weather app called?
2/8/2010 4:13:56 PM
Beautiful Widgets. Think it's like $1.38 in the market. If you hit where the sun and clouds are it shows a display like HTC SenseUI where clouds move across the screen and has rain drops when it's raining (doesn't have the windshield wiper effect though). Only has a simple 3 day forecast.
2/8/2010 6:24:46 PM
2.1 should be coming to droid next week, but if its anything like the last update ill get it two weeks later
2/8/2010 7:40:40 PM
^^ that is the 'new' version of Beautiful Widgits, that has been changed due to HTCs demands, the older version looked too much like HTC's^ supposedly it will not include the Nexus One's Launcher with the 5 homescreens and scrolling icon page

The N1 2.1 launcher is already out there if that's all you want lol. I used it for a while and never had any problems other than the app drawer being almost useless in landscape.
2/9/2010 7:50:23 PM
^ the 2.1 launcher.apk is a horrible resource hog on the droid, 1-2 second freezes were very common when i was running it[Edited on February 9, 2010 at 11:13 PM. Reason : *second]
2/9/2010 11:12:11 PM
hmm...It ran just as good if not better than the stock launcher on mine. Screen transitions were nearly instant and the app drawer worked perfectly with no lag. 1.5GHz wimax blah
2/10/2010 8:28:56 AM
I wish 2.x would hurry up and come to Eris.

Used it for a couple weeks before I loaded the Bugless Beast rom. As long as I didn't use the drawer with the keyboard open everything was smooth. Haven't tried to install it again since I don't feel like redoing the homescreens.
2/10/2010 9:37:34 PM
by "drawer", do you mean the scrolling icon part similar to the Nexus One?
2/10/2010 9:52:55 PM
yeah.
2/10/2010 10:00:14 PM
hm, weird. I was definitely getting huge performance hits. I may give it another try if it ends up not being in the next update.
2/10/2010 10:54:11 PM
Just flashed 2.1 on my G1.... seems to be running awesome so far.
