hahaha that video on page 15 is hilarious

With only 32 games left and 6 out we need to start fighting for the wild card. 3.5 games back but only 3 out in the loss column. If San Fran can hold and we win tonight we'd be 2.5 games out. If we lose still only 3.5 with 32 games left. Either way after this weekend start cheering against CO SF and Florida.
8/30/2009 6:50:00 PM
not with the defense like tonight.
8/30/2009 9:58:39 PM
what the heck happened on the garrett anderson play? he just misplay it or what? gameday said it was a sac fly and then a 2-run error...
8/30/2009 10:24:21 PM
deep hit...went off the edge of his glove...just got changed to a 2 run double
8/30/2009 10:36:09 PM
fucking wes helms of all people
9/2/2009 10:52:46 PM
^Braves made a good comeback last night - fell a little short because Gonzalez was tired (pitched in 5 of the last 6 games) and missing his spots. Helms hit a bomb. Either way Braves need to take tonight's game and put the fish to bed. Fucking Rockies have a ridiculously easy schedule for the next three weeks so the Braves will be lucky to gain any ground.
9/3/2009 7:20:38 AM
wtf is wrong with us... 3-7 in the last 10, i think we're pretty much done.
9/6/2009 8:30:59 PM
Stick a fork in us . . .
9/7/2009 12:35:19 AM
at least the fish lost
9/7/2009 2:52:46 AM
Lost 5 in a row including being swept by the fucking Reds at home. Oh well it was going to take a miracle for us to overtake the Rockies/Giants anyway. The bullpen has sucked so much ass lately that I want to throw up everytime I see guys like Kris Medlen warming up. The SP deserves blame too for not going more than 5-6 innings every night.[Edited on September 8, 2009 at 8:43 AM. Reason : kl]
9/8/2009 8:43:18 AM
well to be fair, it's not particularly the SP's decision to come out of a game that early.
9/8/2009 1:50:54 PM
^ Cox has no choice when they are already at 100+ pitches in the 5th inning. Lately the starters have been nibbling so damn much that they are constantly in 2-2 and 3-2 counts and driving up their pitch counts. Plus the umpiring lately in the games I've watched has sucked ass in terms of calling the close strike. Too bad the Brave hitters are too damn shitty to take advantage.
9/8/2009 5:28:33 PM
man fuck this team. can we please get a closer worth a damn
9/9/2009 10:51:40 PM
how the fuck are chipper AND mccann batting in the .270's?? fuck that shit
9/10/2009 2:19:53 AM
yay, we have a closer that's worth a damn again
9/11/2009 10:58:06 PM
i bet if we win out, we make the playoffs. about to make it 7 in a row (jinx)
9/17/2009 11:02:05 PM
cox is retiring after 2010
9/24/2009 2:51:26 AM
10 games to play.. 4 games out.Colorado plays 1 vs SD, 3 vs STL, 3 vs MIL, and 3 vs LADAtlanta plays 7 vs WASH, 3 vs FLA.I bet we miss the Wild Card by about a game
9/24/2009 3:08:31 AM
How fucking huge are the two games the Braves blew in late innings to the Rockies before the All Star break now? It was right around the time the Braves started playing better and they should have swept a 4 game series against Colorado, but two bullpen melt downs cost them two games. Had they won those games, they'd be tied right now. Oh well. I am still glad we are playing better this year and the starting pitching is shaping up to be dominant next year. Need to add another reliable arm in the bullpen and we need a legit 30 HR hitter in the OF.
9/24/2009 8:51:32 AM
with next year being Cox's last, i would be willing to bet they are going to try and take a good shot at a title for Bobby. i just hope they make some smart moves - namely NOT mortgaging the farm in trades. or making poor FA signings ala lowe.but next season is looking up... we could win almost 90 games this year, and just miss the playoffs, which is head and shoulders above recent years.our main goal should be to improve our bullpen, promote heyward and hope he puts up a RotY performance, resign Laroche, and maybe even find another power bat. with those moves, one would be a fool to sleep on the braves, and picking the NL east winner would be tough.
9/24/2009 9:48:21 AM
^ There have been a lot worse FA signings in recent history than Lowe. I think signing Kawakami was a waste, but we needed all of the FAs (Kawakami, Lowe, and Vazquez) at the beginning of the season. The additions of Hanson and now Hudson have given the Braves a nice log jam in SP. I still say Kawakami or Vazquez are gone after this season although, I'd like to keep Vazquez. His stuff is just silly good.
9/24/2009 10:55:16 AM
i don't think KK was a waste. KK's problem is that it seemed like a waste at first, primarily when he struggled. DL's problem is that he started hot and has now found himself struggling of late. But all things considered, KK's numbers are better, and he earns less than half of what DL does.KK: 3 years, $23MERA 3.92OBA .2577-11~2:1 K/BB ratioDL: 4 year, $60MERA 4.55OBA .29915-9~2:1 K/BB ratioDL has twice the wins as KK, so it appears he has had better run support (which makes sense considering the tale of two halves - brave's O struggled in the first half of the season, along with KK; when DL has struggled, the braves' O has come alive and carries the team).if i had to venture a guess as to who would not be around next season, i'd say Vaz. I bet Hudson gets a longer deal at a lesser yearly amount instead of his $12M option getting picked up (say, 3 years, $24M?). no one is going to trade for DL, so we're basically stuck with him for another 3 years. and I don't believe anyone is knocking down the door for a mediocre pitcher like KK. it wouldn't be a stupid move to cash in on what may be one of Vaz's career best years, and getting a solid hitter in return. so that would leave a rotation of LoweJJHansonHudsonKK/Medlen/Campilloplus, we have some decent starters on the farm (Rohrbough, Minor, Delgado) that can't be too far off
9/24/2009 1:35:08 PM
Keep losin Rockies... keep losin...
9/25/2009 8:11:16 AM
so we need them to go a maximum of 6-4 and us a minimum of 8-2 down the stretch, is that right?
9/25/2009 9:45:09 AM
If we go 8-2, they need to go 4-5
9/25/2009 10:05:49 AM
oh right, duh

9/26/2009 2:48:25 AM

9/27/2009 7:34:22 PM
after the win tonight, we are 2 games behind with 6 remaining.WIN. OUT.
9/28/2009 9:42:51 PM
if we win out we got that shit. they'll lose at least two to the Dodgers and Brewers. then i guess it goes to some tie breaker... i dunno how we did when we played themor... wait, do they just play another game? we split 4-4 during the regular season though.[Edited on September 28, 2009 at 9:52 PM. ^There's always a playoff in baseball, unless the tie is between two teams in the same division where one gets the division and the other gets the wild card. I think Javy would be due in the rotation if it comes down to that. However, the Braves will certainly blow it before then. This is helpful:http://www.baseball-reference.com/about/division_ties.shtml
9/29/2009 1:01:06 AM
Cannot believe the Braves might actually win 90 games this year after they piss poor start. Amazing run to end the season. Hopefully the Rockies luck will run out this week and they'll start to lose some of these 1 run games.
9/29/2009 7:33:51 AM
YES WE CAN
9/29/2009 6:58:40 PM
