honestly i'd keep braun and leeneither have any history of injury problems unlike cabrera and vlad
6/30/2008 1:44:34 AM
What do you think of Aaron Laffey, does he have staying power? He has stretches where he is really good and then has games like today plus I think he is only 22 and he never gets any strikeouts. Should I sell high on him now? I have him and John Danks as my 4/5 starters right now.
6/30/2008 1:48:20 AM
sell now, with the indians sucking ass, i dont see his value getting any higher
6/30/2008 2:00:05 AM
its on Boobsquite possibly a Championship Week preview
6/30/2008 11:21:21 AM
^^^^Yeah I was really considering Giambi/Braun for Vlad/Cabrera and he agreed to that so I might do it. Everyone starting Milton Bradley this week? My other choices are Sheffield and Giambi.
6/30/2008 12:24:41 PM
^^ we gonna truce it?
6/30/2008 12:49:10 PM
holy fuck Brian Fuentes...5 earned runs in 1/3 of an inning...at least 2 of my other closers came away with wins tonight (Cordero, Gregg)
7/1/2008 1:18:26 AM
wow Eric Byrnes fucked up his hammy trying to steal 3rd last night...going BACK on the DL...why the fuck did I spend the 49th pick on that sack of shit...should I really expect a goofy ass white boy to steal 50 bases 2 years in a row?also Miguel Cabrera left the game last night with a hip flexor...listed as day-to-day]
7/1/2008 10:11:13 AM
i cant even make a case for the team getting bruce, kemp and webbPicture Me Rolen (Players to Trade)Jay Bruce (Cin - OF) Matt Kemp (LAD - OF) Brandon Webb (Ari - SP) T-Ball Champion 1985 (Players to Trade)Mark Teixeira Bobby Abreu (NYY - OF) Tim Lincecum (SF - SP)[Edited on July 1, 2008 at 1:57 PM. Reason : .]
7/1/2008 1:38:17 PM
yeah, thats a little one-sided
7/1/2008 1:41:38 PM
not to mention the player getting the crap, hasnt touched his team in 4 monthsbeing a member of the league, i accept your noso far its you, me, statisticular fortitude and shitney queers saying no.if we get one more its vetoed [Edited on July 1, 2008 at 1:43 PM. Reason : .]
7/1/2008 1:41:42 PM
Webb > LincecumTexeira > BruceKemp and Abreu have similar potential although the Dodgers are dumb and will play Kemp part time when Andruw comes back...however, Pierre just went on the DL today so Kemp will be starting for awhilei think a lot of it depends on how Bruce ends up...he has been in a slump lately but I think its just a slump
7/1/2008 1:44:16 PM
dude lincecum is the best fantasy pitcher in the gameits lincecum>>webbtexiera>>>>>either playerabreu>> either player
7/1/2008 1:46:05 PM
that is terrible...
7/1/2008 1:55:27 PM
slave famous has graciously agreed to kill the trade.i will be locking the inactive teamthanks guys
7/1/2008 1:58:23 PM
In all fairness thoI think most people would rank Webb over Lincecum
7/1/2008 2:08:57 PM
I dunno, I think its a wash at best. Lincecum has been lights out this year
7/1/2008 2:23:14 PM
but he has a higher whip, and will probably win less games on a worse team. webb doesnt strike out as many.. i'd say theyre pretty equal
7/1/2008 2:23:52 PM
In our TWW league Lincecum carries a higher value than in normal leagues because of the additional K/9 statAlso you'd figure him to get more losses on a much worse team, but that hasn't been the case thus far
7/1/2008 2:25:35 PM
7/1/2008 4:31:49 PM
sry i was looking at the last month avgs
7/1/2008 4:44:25 PM
i mean they're both ballers, but like Slave said, I have more confidence in Arizona's run support (although the Diamondbacks have completely fallen off over the last few weeks)...I picked up Lincecum last year partway through the season when he got the AAA callup...oh how easy it was... I remember picking up Dwayne Wade mid season during his rookie year...ah, good times
7/1/2008 4:53:18 PM
I thought it was gonna be like that for me with Bruce this yearand it was for a few weeksHe'll probably pick it back up, but not to that level
7/1/2008 5:07:19 PM
lets see if my closer Cordero can get his 2nd win of the week, if the Reds can score a run to break the tie here in the bottom of the 9thsidenote: Kevin Gregg, Florida's closer, is 6-2 this year (with 14 saves, 2.33 ERA)6-2 is better than many starting pitchers so far this yearbtw he's blown a few saves, but they've all either gone for wins or no decisions...and both his losses were in back to back appearances, Apr 29 and May 1 (last loss was 2 months ago)]
7/1/2008 10:09:05 PM
Most of that is luck. Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good in fantasy.
7/1/2008 10:26:35 PM
sure but he's also a solid closerbut theres definitely luck involved...he actually became the first player in Marlins history (a month or so ago, during a double header) to get both a win and a save in the same day
7/1/2008 10:28:12 PM
good thing Tampa came back and tied it in the 9th before the Royals whooped them in the 10th so Garza didn't get the loss
7/7/2008 4:33:42 PM
God another Milton Bradley injury....
7/7/2008 7:09:32 PM
he's been getting bad in that category over the last couple weeks...still the tendinitis is not in his bad knee, and he is listed as a starter tonight (in 43 minutes)
7/7/2008 7:28:23 PM
He's lucky he's in the AL and can DHHe'd never be able to play the field for more than 100 gamesHe's got the body of a 45 year old
7/7/2008 9:00:12 PM
I guess Manny Parra got the boot from the rotation to make room for Sabathia? He's still listed as a starter on Yahoo's depth chart but last night he pitched one inning in either the 7th or 8th------ok maybe not"LHP Manny Parra, who had his scheduled turn Tuesday pushed back three days to accommodate newly acquired LHP CC Sabathia, pitched one inning of relief against the Rockies. Parra's next start will be Friday against Cincinnati."[Edited on July 8, 2008 at 10:32 AM. Reason : .]
7/8/2008 10:29:15 AM
Carlos Guillen is out of the starting lineup tonight...I think it might be something about his wife having a baby but he's definitely not starting
7/8/2008 7:00:32 PM
i love Justin Duscherer (no evan)
7/9/2008 12:24:17 AM
dude's incredibleI had him, webb, and wolf tonightprettay prettay good
7/9/2008 12:26:05 AM
Fucking christ... I retardedly used my #1 waiver position in my Roto NL only league on fucking Kershaw and now I'll miss out on CC.. Stupid, stupid, stupid... what the fuck was I thinking.
7/9/2008 2:27:42 AM
I think this has been my best year of picking free agents...I've snagged cliff lee, edinson volquez, ricky nolasco, jon lester, jermaine dye, chase headley, ted lilly, and just picked up troy percival for saves once he's off the dl (the guy who had him streams pitchers and I trumped his waiver to get him back). That is a ton of my production that wasn't even drafted.
7/9/2008 8:39:44 AM
I think this has been my worst year in fantasy baseball. My entire lineup has been ice cold for the last month after starting off the year on a tear.I was #1 for couple weeks this year but my team has been a DL machine. I had my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks on the DL at one pointRafael SorianoAlfonso SorianoBedardMarcumVictor MartinezJJ putzGallardoamongst others...
7/9/2008 10:29:47 AM
You drafted way too many closers early then!
7/9/2008 10:47:52 PM
my team is stalling lately!adrian gonzalez, chase utley, chone figgins, jason bay, ichiro, wagner, volquez, and lee are all kind of maxing out. i need the all star break asap!
7/9/2008 11:04:35 PM
^^I got Rafael in late roundsPutz in the 5th roundPapelbon had just been drafted and I wanted a "guarenteed" nasty closer
7/10/2008 6:48:53 AM
i'm doing horrible this week...miraculously i'm only down 8-4
7/10/2008 9:29:29 AM
i just added kevin gregg (closer, FLA) to help me out with saves. i've got percival and putz on the DL and i haven't been getting too much out of todd jones, fuentes, b. lyon, and cordero.i dont want to have gregg, jones, fuentes, lyon and cordero because i would like to have another SP instead of a staff full of RP's.who would you drop? i'm thinkin jones or fuentes?[Edited on July 10, 2008 at 11:37 AM. Reason : x]
7/10/2008 11:37:18 AM
I dropped Jones a few weeks agobest decision I ever made
7/10/2008 12:07:48 PM
Kelvim Escobar's season is OFFICIALLY over now...gonna have surgerytime to drop him from your Watch List
7/12/2008 4:42:54 PM
Is it too early to take Francisco Liriano? I had been streaming pitchers after trading Volquez for Carlos Lee (needed HRs) and losing Rich Hill after he was sent back down to the minors to fix his control issues a couple months ago. The rest of my staff is probably good enough to get by till he comes back up. I have Tim Lincecum, Justin Duchscherer, Cliff Lee, Ben Sheets, and Jon Lester for SP. Jonathan Papelbon, Joakim Soria, and Mike Gonzalez as closers. 12 team H2H league, I'm in first right now.
7/12/2008 5:20:25 PM
I would say it isn't too early to pick him upIn most leagues, its too late
7/12/2008 5:26:04 PM
If he hurries back and has the same kind of results he had pre-injury or the past few weeks in the minors, my pitching staff will be untouchable.
7/12/2008 5:37:59 PM
his pre-injury numbers this year in the majors were actually pretty terrible
7/12/2008 5:39:22 PM
he probly means pre-tommy john from a few years back, when he was sick nasty
7/12/2008 5:48:37 PM
I was lucky enough to own Liriano before his Tommy Johns, and unlucky enough to have him go down and hurt my chances at a fantasy championship. Barely lost the championship game that year, if I had a few more K's though...He seems to be pitching VERY well in AAA right now. From Yahoo!'s player notes:Jul 11 Liriano threw seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts and one walk in Thursday's win for Triple-A Rochester. Jul 11 Kelly Thesier, of Twins.MLB.com, reports Minnesota Twins SP Francisco Liriano is 7-0 with a 2.73 ERA in his last eight starts for Triple-A Rochester.Jul 8 LHP Francisco Liriano allowed seven hits and struck out 16 over two starts last week, earning player of the week honors in the International League.
