GH guitar => works in RBRB guitar => doesn't work in GH
2/27/2008 2:49:38 PM
isn't that only for XBOX?
2/27/2008 4:28:28 PM
yes, GH guitar does not work for RB on PS3
2/27/2008 4:31:27 PM
so i played this on a 360 for the first time over the weekend and wanted to know if it was because of the guys I was playing with or someone else, butplaying this on the 360 was the most fucking irritating experience ever after playing on the PS3there was the constant demand to load user profiles whenever someone wanted to join in the band...a process that took at least 3 screens to get throughand every single time someone changed out, it went through some minute long loading additional content bullshitso, is this how it always is on the 360, or can i go over the next time and show them something cool that will get rid of all the bullshit?
2/28/2008 12:55:35 AM
tell your friends not to bother changing all the profiles when people switch instruments?
2/28/2008 1:01:20 AM
^ that's pretty normal for 360 stuff. my roommates and i hate it, but oh well. i still think the 360 version is slightly better.the Additional Content does get annoying, but i think it's worth it for extra songs.
2/28/2008 1:01:37 AM
it's not changing profiles...it's if we have 2 people playing and a 3rd comes, we have to go through it all...then when the 4th shows up, you have to do it again...on the PS3 you can just start up with numbered users of the machine's profile (so for me there is a goalielax (1), goalielax (2), etc)just to be clear...there's no way to start up a band with only one profile, is there?extra songs? you mean the 3 songs that were in the $10 XBox magazine?
2/28/2008 3:49:17 AM
^ and all the DLC songs.the interface is a little clunky at times, but my friends and i don't normally have issues with it. but then most people just use my guest profiles on my 360[Edited on February 28, 2008 at 9:18 AM. Reason : and loading additional content never takes longer than 10 seconds for me]
2/28/2008 9:17:33 AM
Everyone that I play with seems to have to calibrate it differently (I play with 0 ms lag but my gf plays with like 10 or something and a few other friends play at other ones) so it is necessary to change profiles each time so that you just don't have to calibrate it again. It has never bothered me, it doesn't take my Xbox more than a few seconds to load.
2/28/2008 9:33:17 AM
i haven't had any problems when playing w/ friends as a band. they just play as a default character or pick one of mine and we just pass the instruments around the room.when setting it up w/ my panasonic plasma tv, it just used the preset for plasma and have had no problems with lag or anything.when we tried setting it up w/ a friend's sony lcd, none of the presets were right and we spent 15 minutes calibrating it. it sucked. i thought it was kinda funny though that the sony ps3 required more calibration with the sony tv.i've also hooked it up to regular tube tvs, a large lcd rear projection tv, and a big projector with a 9' screen and didn't have to calibrate on any of them.oh and my new guitar came in yesterday! I think anyone with a 360 is used to the profile loading/changing when it comes to certain games
2/28/2008 9:56:30 AM
Does it work well? I'm about to send mine back again.. just haven't had the time to go through and get a new one from the website.
2/28/2008 9:56:55 AM
Just bought a medal pedal (http://www.megapedal.com) for my bass drum to keep it from snapping again and maybe help make it feel better. I'll write a little review and let everyone know how I like it.I got 156k on Maps on expert yesterday and was pumped. Started to do a variety of other songs on expert that I am familiar with (Dani Cali, Missippi Queen, Orange Crush (Destroyed me) etc) and am doing OK.Learning to do one song really well (Maps) on expert has really helped develop better limb independence and bass pedal tecnique, so if anyone is trying to get better on the drums I'd recommend giving that learning method a try.[Edited on February 28, 2008 at 11:42 AM. I think when I get my copy of this game, I'm just going to do that gas pedal mod a few pages back with the electrical tapenothing says "I rock" like a foot imprint bass pedal, lol
2/28/2008 11:55:19 AM
I just use my profile and they pick default characters or mine.
2/28/2008 12:05:21 PM
Woot...finally beat GGAHT on expert (with the fender).
3/4/2008 1:03:05 AM
I just got my mega pedal in today. Installation was pretty easy. It's makes a HUGE difference. The added weight makes it a lot easier to use and the feel is so much better. Now it makes me want a metal base to go along with it and a better set of pads.
3/4/2008 2:17:30 AM
^^^^I'm telling you it works just as well as all this expensive stuff...the only reason why I had to spend $20 was because they were out of the single-pedal pieces...otherwise it would have been $10-12. i played at a friend's recently who had the stock pedal and it felt so cheap and crappy compared to what I'm used to with the home jobi mean it may look ghetto as fuck, but then again we're playing video games that fake playing music[Edited on March 4, 2008 at 2:24 AM. I received my mega pedal yesterday.Initial Impressions: I am glad I won't break another pedal (Already been through 2. First one the pedal split towards the hinge, second the base split in half). Installation sucked without a power screw driver, but was easy overall. Definately makes the pedal have a different feel, and so far I have liked it on most songs that aren't overwhelming on bass pedal notes (Hard difficulty). However, I tried my specialty "Maps" on expert and noticed that my leg got tired much easier with this new pedal than the old. I'll post more details after some time playing with it and getting used to it more.
3/4/2008 9:22:35 AM
i've been playing drums on hard (mostly) and some on expert and i've never broken a pedal (knock on wood). wtf are you ppl doing?
3/4/2008 9:38:49 AM
fucking rocking out!

3/4/2008 11:24:20 AM
I like that they are releasing some of the best rock songs ever with all the old shit (The Who, The Dead, etc.) but they need to give a little more love to the 90's and 2000's, since that is their target audience....The DLC's are much lower quality than the songs on the CD....only about half of them are worth a shit, while I actually like almost all the songs with the original game.

3/11/2008 10:45:47 AM
you guys like Paramore? THis is the first I've heard of them and uh... avril lavigne comes to mind.
3/11/2008 12:29:59 PM
^ first thing i thought, lol
3/11/2008 12:37:41 PM
ncWOLFsu, I want a video of you playing it on drums on expert... and hit at least 90% on the first try through. You have until 5PM EST.
3/11/2008 1:08:52 PM
Anyone get the NIN pack? The Perfect Drug is so insane, it makes me feel like a robot when I'm playing it on drums. Which makes sense, since it is played by a robot.[Edited on March 11, 2008 at 1:31 PM. Reason : d]
3/11/2008 1:31:07 PM
uh, paramore's 1st cd was not this glorified pop cd, so no its not avril lavigne, just this song and the newer cd is came from
3/11/2008 2:57:51 PM
I agree the 1st CD is better. I do like the new one though, so I am happy to see it in the DLC.
3/11/2008 3:28:30 PM
3/11/2008 5:43:11 PM
now all i got in my head is crushcrushcrush, cant get it out
3/11/2008 6:22:08 PM
ok here's a video of it. only got 98% this time though.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRTh5P39-1Ii thought it was kinda funny that there was already at least one other video on youtube of somebody doing this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CH1Cc3Y4FQ&feature=relatedexcept they suck.
3/11/2008 6:57:52 PM
<3 ncWOLFsuYou missed the deadline though, so you were docked 20% from your finaly scores.
3/12/2008 9:01:07 AM
3/13/2008 7:37:45 AM
DLC seems to be picking up a bit. 97% expert sandman last night on drums. i think that song is a lot easier then how they rate it for the drums.
3/13/2008 8:44:30 AM
yeah i dont remember what percent i got on it when i played it, but it really wasn't that bad. i struggled with it when i first made the jump to expert, but really it's not that bad at all.i wonder if there's any way to get multiple people's characters into one BWT game. i know you can't do it online yet (why, i have no idea), but is there any way of rigging up a couple 360's together or something and doing it locally? it'd be cool to be able to get a few people around NCSU together and rock BWT on expert. i have friends i play with occasionally but most are on medium/hard and can't do expert. i play expert guitar/drums btw if anyone wants to come play through BWT on expert sometime and my xbl gamertag is steelerblitz[Edited on March 13, 2008 at 9:23 AM. Reason : ]
3/13/2008 9:17:48 AM
I'm looking for people to play online with that don't suck, I play drums, most songs on expert in 90's and a few I can't do on expert yet but can hard.Pm me and I'll send gamer tag if interested. Usually just have time to play a bit at night.
3/13/2008 5:16:51 PM
someone download the thrash pack and tell me if it sucks or not
3/19/2008 9:47:26 AM
^ i looked at some of the songs on youtube last night. seemed good if you like that sort of music. one of them is crazy on guitar (expert)and my friend comes over to help me advance in BWT from time to time... I can sing on expert and he can at least play bass, usually guitar on expert. i'm trying to get enough stars to attempt the endless setlist sometime. it'd be nice if they put BWT online.in guitar solo mode i'm stuck on green grass and high tides. got 81% through last night a couple of times, but when it starts alternating G-R-Y-R-G (i think thats the combo) it kills me
3/19/2008 10:33:36 AM
^i was stuck on that part of GGAHT for a long time until I just decided to cheese it to get bybasically, if you just run your fingers along the 3 alternating buttons (G-R-Y or R-Y-B) and do the up/down strum (very quickly), the game will register enough of the strumming to get you by - you may begin to tank anyway so try to wait until the last possible second to blow overdrive...you can pick up more energy in the intervening notes between G-R-Y and R-Y-B and that should be enough to continue overdrive through most of the R-Y-B sequencescrubby, yes - but that song (especially at 10+ minutes) on guitar is honestly harder for me than run to the hills and won't get fooled again on expert drums
3/19/2008 12:35:42 PM
Finding now that some of the songs are just long and exhausting to the point of just not being fun. By the end of a lot of the harder songs on expert my shin is just killing me from so much of the bass pedal. but my calves look great!
3/19/2008 7:38:05 PM
yeahdon't fear (the reaper) & next to youhonestly...fuck those songs
