I'm not saying Vick was perfect this season.


But he certainly had a very strong season.


If you think Marc Bulger or Tony Romo woulda made Atlanta a playoff contender then you're nuts.


It just seems kinda nuts to throw Bulger in there. Its very random... i know he had some stats but jesus they couldnt even win games in that decision with a fairly loaded offensive unit.

You gotta wonder how the Falcons managed to put that terrible supporting offensive cast together without fielding a decent defensive unit.

I think its fine not to spend a lot of money on the offensive side of the ball. I'll readily admit that getting elite WR's wouldnt be the wisest use of their money since Vick's strength is not accuracy. He throws one of the finer deep balls in the game so he's better suited with deep threats than possession guys. He opens up the running game a lot because LB's have to commit to their lanes so I think once Jerrious Norwood learns the position he can be a valuable asset.

The thing is. Vick singlehandedly gives your offense a means of scoring points. Theres no reason to waste a lot of money on the offensive side of the ball. They should focus on building a shutdown defense instead. The problem is they've had underachievers and guys like John Abraham that cant stay healthy.

The one point i will concede about Vick is that durability is an issue. They seriously need to put a team around this guy in the next few seasons or they might really let the Mike Vick era slip past them. It's a shame really.

PR has a good deep ball, but SD's offense uses TE's...vick doesn't have a good deep ball...he's inaccurate as shit...which is why his TE averages 14 yds per catch...vick needs dink and dunk, not the long ball. he also has a 1k yd rusher in his backfield. and you can't be inaccurate and have a fine deep ball (how much more shit do you have left to defecate out of your mouth?)

torry holt and the likes wouldn't come to ATL because the current starting QB can't make the passes

vick's in the middle of his era...shitty passes, rushing yards that no one gives a shit about, and an inability to win consistently...welcome to the ride

His problems come when he tries to throw timing routes and short passes. He doesnt have great touch, thats the one aspect he really needs to improve on.

I have no idea where you were going with that 14 yards per catch comment... that was out of left field.


Its not everyday a QB throws for a 2:1 TD/INT ratio and rushes for 1,000 yards.

guess what, it's also the first time a QB has had a passer rating in the 70's and rushed for a 1000 yards...and completed less than 53% of his passes and rushed for 1000 yards....and had a team at 7-7 and rushed for 1000 yards...

the TE comment was that the ATL offense needs to mimic SD's...vick can not throw well, but at least using shorter passes and a strong running game would give them a real chance at putting something together. you could give atlanta the 5 best receivers in the league and a 10-man line, and vick is still going to scramble when he should stay put and throw horrid passes

chokejob today by the Falcons.

i didnt get to see but the last 8 minutes cause both my parents are in the hospital but i mean seriously.

I know the Panthers were gonna be fired up to play coming off such a huge blowout, but theres no excuse to lose that game.

It doesnt look like Vick had a good game. About 50%, 100 yards passing, 30 yards rushing, and an INT (the 2nd INT was on a hail mary and the WR didnt attempt to catch the pass b/c it was short of the end zone) THats not good. But its INEXCUSABLE that the Falcons RB's combined for 49 yards. How the hell do you not run for more than that against our awful run defense.

Their defense gave up nearly 200 yards rushing against a team that hasnt run the ball well in two years. What gives? We had Weinke behind center and they coulda just stacked the line and shut us down... theres no reason the Falcons should never have any field position to work with like that....


The offensive coordinator has to go. Vick isn't well suited for the West Coast offense. Whats the point of handicapping your best player like that. Why are they not RUNNING the football this year? They used to be an excellent team on 3rd downs and now they're trying to hit out routes on 3rd and 1. Its illogical given their team is built to run the football. It'd be like installing the option with Peyton Manning.

Atlanta needs to take a lesson from Tennessee and just let their star do his thing and stop trying to conform to the pressure of the media...

they arent built to be a come from behind team.


They have one of the smallest o-lines in the league because they use a zone blocking scheme.

They just arent geared to make quick scoring drives in the 4th quarter with 14 yard outs.

They are built to run the football and surprise the defense with the occasional deep ball. When they are in the lead they're one of the toughest teams in the league to comeback on because they can run the clock out with the best of them.

The problem is they cant GET a lead because the OC isnt calling running plays and the defense cant stop anyone...
