Serious question...Is there any real reason to buy a Defender 90 now that Jeep came out with the Rubicon Wrangler? Seems like they were awesome for the mid-90's, but now they're just overpriced for what they are.

what years can be worked on at home ( dont need a giant scantool) ?

What years/series gives the least amount of trouble that cant be fixed by a non professional with a good service manual?

^^ i don't think that there's ever been a good reason to buy a D90, other than just wanting one really badly and being willing to pay 4x what any reasonable person would value the vehicle at.

I mean, I love them...I want one really badly...but I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay $25-35k for one.

The real ticket right now however is the now-legal 1983-1984 imports coming over, which you can pick up with galvanised frames and diesel swaps already done for half what a US spec D90 is gonna cost you.

If you really want one, and are really ready to throw down the cash, I can put you in touch with the right people who will let you know whats in the pipeline right now or will keep an ear to the ground for the next one.
