^^I can tell you that there weren't 10000 ticket overalland that that number is actually around 3400, which is about right

give small groups and individuals 80% and large groups 20%how many tickets do we get?[Edited on September 21, 2005 at 1:13 PM. Reason : .]
9/21/2005 1:12:41 PM
might just change that before the next game...I'm meeting with everyone from the original group today, so we'll discuss it....considering how many of you know large group winners and very few singles, it's definitely something to change^8000, after you take out for the band, etcfrom the ticket website:
9/21/2005 1:13:35 PM
the band seriously counts against us? Who the hell else would sit there?
9/21/2005 1:14:57 PM
oh, let's not forget that the SWPC counts against everyone else, and Campus Community was seriously looking at giving them more than the 730 tickets they already get
9/21/2005 1:16:39 PM
Large Groups deserve 40%. It's not difficult to get into a group. It's called "making friends". You're a real social outcast if you don't know ONE PERSON that is a member of a large group; just get the leader's ID and sign up. Easy.Leave things are they are. There's about 10 ppl on TWW complaining, and THOUSANDS more not.
9/21/2005 1:19:18 PM
Thanks lahyde for putting up with all the crap on here. Your replies have been the best way for me to find out about anything involving the new ticket process. For anyone saying all the large groups got tickets you are wrong. I am in a large group that got Section 7 tickets for VT and EKU, but didn't get tickets in either of the lotteries for this game. I guess I will be trying out the on demand thing tomorrow.
9/21/2005 1:22:02 PM
9/21/2005 1:30:21 PM
anyway, they're pulling the numbers for us...I'll be able to give you breakdown of the first two games and this one tonight
9/21/2005 1:32:24 PM
I kinda wish they would cut some of the SWPC tickets, mostly because I am high enough in the club that it wouldn't affect my tickets, plus it would speed up distributions and sign-ins and sign-outs because people would be less inclined to join.
9/21/2005 1:34:40 PM
9/21/2005 1:41:12 PM
im just pissed that its almost impossible to get a ticket if you just sign up for a single seat.
9/21/2005 1:47:19 PM
If you look at it mathematically, your odds are definitely better if you join a large group. Think about it.... If there are over 3000 tickets given to larger groups then anywhere from 30-100 or so groups will win. if all 29000 people at state were in large groups that would make up about 290 groups. Being one of the 30 out of those 290 groups picked is a much better chance than being 1 going against the 10s of thousands of ppl not in large groups. And since we know not everyone is in al large group, the chances are even higher. Why don't you ppl on tww just make a large group, I mean it's not like you actually have to sit together since it is GA.
9/21/2005 2:27:14 PM
^ That would make too much sense. Then they'd have nothing to bitch and whine about.
9/21/2005 2:32:10 PM
^^but there aren't 10's of thousands of people that request tickets. Might be 10,000 but that would be the very upper limit.and I am the group leader of a small group and my group has won tickets to all three games. So its not that only the large groups have won. You guys are just asking the wrong people. Your trying to tell me that you don't know one of the 4000+ people that won a ticket without being in a large group?I mean, there are a lot of people here, but not that many. A very large portion of people could give a shit about athletics. Case in point - most the asians that you see here won't request a ticket. Thats not saying that none will, but most could care less about sports.[Edited on September 21, 2005 at 2:40 PM. Reason : ^]

We've been doing block seating ever since it became apparent two years that trying to get individual tickets was near impossible.I'm just saying, and rightfully so, thats its stupid to punish people who end up not going to games but then not reward those that go to even the shittiest of games. That way when the student organizations who generally could careless about football decide to come to the one game they know about, people who understand and love football aren't screwed over. Its a wasted argument though. Explaining logic to non-engineers at this school is like trying to teach a blind kid how to drive.
9/21/2005 2:44:15 PM
Not to mention the fact that you couldn't even tell whether you were in a large group or a small group because the counter for how many people are actually in your group is broken.
9/21/2005 2:48:46 PM
How retarded are you people? This is a SYSTEM created to give out tickets to us low-lifes known as students. Obviously not everyone will win each time. Obviously more people will WANT to go to the UNC game vs. the EKU game. Why? Because after the first half the EKU was boring as hell, even though I stayed. However, you can bet your money the UNC game will be crazy exciting from start to finish. Is it so hard to believe there's more demand for this one? It'd be IMPOSSIBLE to look at every student and say "Well, this guy loves NCSU athletics, and stayed every millisecond of the EKU game, and looks pretty today...we'll give him a ticket!" Sometimes you get the shaft. It's called life. But out of thousands of folks that got tickets for this game, there's only a dozen or so complaining. You're the EXTREME minority, so deal with it.
9/21/2005 2:51:35 PM
Low Lives known as students eh?When NC State calls me to give them money in a few years, I'll be sure to let them know why they can go blow themselves.
9/21/2005 2:52:52 PM
^^^that wouldn't be too hard though, just ask people if they signed up and once you get to 25 you know your a large group.or, just set it to be a small group and you know that no matter what you will be a small group^^exactly[Edited on September 21, 2005 at 2:53 PM. Reason : ^]

^^^^that is true, but for my group i created a spreadsheet and made them email me once they did it. If I didn't have 25, I called until I knew I had 25. I understand some people may not have that kind of time, but if each person in your group cooperated, you'd know the size of your group.[Edited on September 21, 2005 at 3:04 PM. 9/21/2005 2:58:49 PM
Realistically, they don't care much about "future alums". A ton of them won't even live in NC after they graduate. And honestly, giving you the opportunity for seats to a game they could EASILY sell out of with paid tickets should at least make you slightly thankful. A lot of school charge for seats. The bottom line is nothing will ever please everybody, so just stop complaining and live with it. If you complainers would've won tickets instead of some random NCSU sports freak that is nuts about NCSU athletics and just doesn't happen to know about TWW, you wouldn't give 2 shits that they lost and feel the same way as you do right now.
9/21/2005 2:58:51 PM
You're right on that note but implementing a counter is so simple. In fact, implementing a group leader management page is so simple that its baffling why they didn't do it from the start.
9/21/2005 2:59:21 PM
9/21/2005 3:00:33 PM
Yea they could please everybody.Let all students attend the game. Kind of like reigning ACC champion Virginia Tech.
9/21/2005 3:03:43 PM
^ Kind of like "that's financially retarded".EDIT: ....when you've only got ~58k seats and 30k students, even though not that many demand tickets. It means that you cannot comment on the plight of fellow students who don't have the leisure of spending their internship money on season tickets and have to intern rely on a broken system that favors large organizations and big spenders such as yourself. It means that you need to get the fuck out of this thread because it doesn't apply to you in any way, shape or form and your "the students are worth nothing" atitude which you've been spewing for the part of the last few pages is pretty obnoxious .

there needs to be a ten question quiz that you must pass in order to get a student ticket.first question should state - Should you cheer loud where NC State is on offense?
9/21/2005 4:54:40 PM
So, for the number I can give you:63% of the people who requested tickets have won them so far. A little over 10000 student requested tickets for this gameYes, more than 4000 requested large groups, which means that more than 40% of those that request tickets were in large groups, but we only give 40% of total tickets to large groups. I think that makes it fairfor the two previous games, it was roughly 90% of people requesting tickets winning tickets
9/21/2005 5:09:23 PM
Not everyone who was in block seating won. my group and the 60 people or so in it didnt win. we aren't a cult or some organization, just all friends...so not everyone in groups is... it sucks, but ill get over it. i havent missed a game since the last carolina game here 2 years ago. reality is you cant go to every single game sometimes. its luck of the draw...im not happy that im not going to my last unc game, even the games our block didnt win, but ill get over it and maybe some of you guys should too and stop bitching to Lee about everything...i do agree that it should be based on previous attendance, but its not going to happen this year clearly...if thats what you want, join SWPC
