i didn't know that

I've read a total of about three complaints about the CGI in this movie in all the reviews I've read.Episode I's CGI looks terribly dated.
5/18/2005 2:21:18 PM
my brother saw it last night at 9:30 with the manager at the raleigh grande...he said it was really good
5/18/2005 2:23:58 PM
When I was in NZ the only thing I got to see in the theaters early was Mr. Bean
5/18/2005 2:29:25 PM

I have the premiere tickets. the premiere is tommorow.

They had some of the most pathetic costumes last night. Several Star Trek outfits, a girl with a wookie mask and vest, and then plenty of 30 year old jedis. There was an awesome stormtropper though. Apparently all the cool kids went to go see it at Fox Studios.
5/18/2005 5:36:17 PM
theres probably still tickets at mission valleyi got mine at 945 tonight and a guy said there were still like 75 left or so
5/18/2005 10:28:42 PM
I can't believe no one has made plans with me or even called me about it today. I'm not even gonna bother going. I don't want to go by myself, and I usually don't care about going to the movies alone.
5/18/2005 11:21:47 PM
Call me old fashioned, but I preferred the muppet creatures over the new cgi. To me, they looked more believable than those shiny computer graphic creatures with over-exaggerated mannerisms. Also, the muppets were ever better actors than certain human characters in the movies. I'm still excited though! I hear palpatine kicks some ass, so it should be a good show
5/18/2005 11:21:56 PM
4th best star wars movie. It's unbelievable how consistently bad Hayden is. He makes everyone around him crappy, crappy actors and actresses. With that said, it was interesting to see how things went down.
5/19/2005 2:48:04 AM
dont get your hopes up on good actingi liked the movie even though there was a ton of bad acting (my favorite of the first 3)
5/19/2005 2:48:36 AM
Star Trek was better and Yoda owns all
5/19/2005 2:49:30 AM
WAAAAA THEY'RE NEVER GOING TO BE AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINALS!!!!The only good actor in the originals was Harrison Ford. Everyone else sucked as well.
5/19/2005 2:50:23 AM
The acting wasn't that bad, just some of the interactions with Anakin and Padme. The movie was fucking stellar otherwise.
5/19/2005 2:51:58 AM
Lucas has this thing where instead of being serious for the duration of an important scene, he'll break into it with something funny, and then go back to it.That's really my biggest knock on the whole thing. Most of the acting was fine for a Star Wars movie. Portman wasn't grand, but she didn't have anything to work with, so I can't fault her.
5/19/2005 2:53:22 AM
I think Portman was a hell of alot worse than Hayden. And Hayden improved tenfold over his performance in Ep II
5/19/2005 2:54:42 AM
carrie fischer played her character well. Most importantly, they all had actual chemistry.mark hammel > haydencarrie fischer > portmanharrison ford > ewin mcgregor ??chewbacca > ??black guy > ??Even the villains were better. Gotta love jabba the hut. It's also doesn't help that ewin mcgregor sucked balls everytime he was with hayden.[Edited on May 19, 2005 at 2:57 AM. Reason : ^eh, squeezing blood from a rock there. He was pretty much the same.]
5/19/2005 2:56:13 AM
There was a lot of action in this movie, and I loved every second of it. The acting in the few romantic scenes was poor, but I couldnt care less.
5/19/2005 2:57:58 AM
I thought Hayden was fine. This was the first time in six Star Wars movie where the main protagonist wasn't a whiny brat for 90% of the movie.
5/19/2005 2:58:02 AM
I loved Yoda. I prefered the CGI to the puppet because they could do a lot more with facial expressions.
5/19/2005 2:58:07 AM
"protagonist"
5/19/2005 2:59:20 AM
My only complaint was that things felt rushed and they didnt do that great a job of showing the passage of time.
5/19/2005 3:01:31 AM
I agree on the passage of time thing. I was like, wtf it's been nine months already?
5/19/2005 3:02:02 AM
i laughed, i cried, i wasted some money
5/19/2005 3:02:10 AM
5/19/2005 3:05:42 AM
I thought it was good, but the acting was still shitty.NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
5/19/2005 3:06:07 AM
oh yeah, where were all the sith they were talking about? I was expecting an organization comparable to the jedis.
5/19/2005 3:12:33 AM
^^that part was horribleYeah, the acting was shitty, but nothing made me cringe as much as that fireplace scene in AotC. The special effects kicked ass.
5/19/2005 3:12:56 AM
ian mcdiarmid was really good, gotta love palpatine.
5/19/2005 3:13:38 AM
I am pretty sure they tell you in episode one, the sith operate in twos, no more, no less
5/19/2005 3:13:40 AM
It's easily the best of the prequels, and probably slightly better than RETURN OF THE JEDI. Most of the problems I did have with this movie were the result of the previous two movies doing such a poor job of setting things up. I actually had no problems with Hayden Christensen this time around. He was likable when he needed to be and sinister when he needed to be. I still think Natalie Portman just phoned the whole thing in, and the scenes between her and Christensen just didn't work for the most part.
5/19/2005 3:15:15 AM
No, they run in threes, like velociraptors.
5/19/2005 3:15:40 AM
Incredible. I was literally shaking when the Jedi were being exterminated. This really does close the circle on things.
5/19/2005 3:18:09 AM
I did think it was very good when Vader said "I HATE YOU." and he was all flaming and shit.
5/19/2005 3:18:48 AM
are u serious?
5/19/2005 3:18:59 AM
I loved it...can't wait to have all 6 on DVD...whenever the hell that is
5/19/2005 3:19:14 AM
2 years and $120+ dollars down the road
5/19/2005 3:20:56 AM
Should be out on DVD in mid-November.
5/19/2005 3:22:35 AM
its now definitely clear that the first 2 movies were made so this movie could be madeby that i mean not only the story, but the advancement in cgi and special effectsthis was the movie we've all been waiting for and if you feel disappointed then you went into the movie wanting to hate itthe only complaints i have are:believability of anakin's transformationobi-wan's ignoranceand all the small necessary transitions that needed to be made to join the two trilogies (Padme's death, C3PO's memory wipe, the whole Qui-Gon explanation, Yoda's feeling like he has to exile b/c he couldn't defeat the emperor)--all of those felt like cop-outs, like lucas couldn't think of anything more creative and just stated the obviousbut the fight scenes were unreal, the opening space battle was just breath taking, the duels at the end were perfect, grievous with lightsabres looked better in the cartoon but it got better, mace windu fighting the emperor was great except for the whole being thrown out the window and stuff
5/19/2005 3:25:10 AM
Having taken in arcades in small doses and not being around the CoE, seeing this movie reminded me that dorks are really, really annoying. I'm might be one (who am I kidding with "might"?), but damn I wanted slap some of those motherfuckers.
5/19/2005 3:27:07 AM
i didn't go into thinking i was going to hate it, it just happend
5/19/2005 3:27:13 AM
i thought i was good, definately worth $8.50 and 2.5 hours of my time
5/19/2005 3:27:40 AM
unfortunately by making the lightsaber duels so awesome in the first three it makes it look like vader sucks ass with one in episode 5 and 6
5/19/2005 3:28:04 AM
well he has no real arms anymore
5/19/2005 3:29:08 AM
the best acting in the movie was Palpatine, Yoda, and R2D2 (that droid can kick some ass)
5/19/2005 3:37:11 AM
