I had no motivation going into it, and after my second set of warm up dead I was READY. No pr's but I felt beat up, and really pushed myself for being a week out of a sinus infection.

I added single leg stuff for rehab, and that stuff really HURTS (in a good way) following the other stuff.

I was going to hit the steam room for 30, but I had to rush out due to closing

yea, those are the best, I had my first leg day in a week today, nothing like getting back into the groove and just trashing yourself. I love wobbling out of the gym like a drunk.

What are you rehabbing from?

I'll be out there on sunday. I drive past it nearly everyday but have never been and it looks like it is going to be really warm! I would be a terrible running partner. I'll beat ya the first 100yards though .

you should have tried maintaining your cardio during your bulk...it helps maintain the fat burning pathways (which makes it easier to drop fat when/if you cut)

i still do something cardio based at least twice a week(usually basketball) and I always do at least 10 minutes of cardio prior to lifting

walked the lake johnson route this morning, took like 50 minutes...then lifted

rest day so I just stretched and tried to set 1RM on my major lifts

435x1 Dead Lift *PR*
225x1 Front Squat
345x1 Decline Bench *PR*

done

Ran the Disney Princess Half-Marathon. Slow time, 2:07, but at least I have plenty of energy for wakeboarding later.

Ran Lake Johnson yesterday, debating on what to do today. I could probably use a day off but have already eaten too much today to not work out.

an hour on the treadmill. My heart rate doesn't get nearly as high while doing cardio as it used to. I'm thinking it's because of the way I've switched up my lifting routine to involve less rest time and no locking out during reps.

^^possibly, but I've been doing cardio in a similar fashion for the last 3 years without having a very significant change in heart rate. I only changed up my lifting style about two months ago. I've started wearing a heart rate monitor at the gym and basing my rest time between sets on both time and my heart rate in an effort to speed up my workouts.

[Edited on March 7, 2010 at 10:42 PM. Reason : lately I've been struggling to get my heart rate to a decent level before my calves are in pain.]

Lake Johnson: the paved part is like 2.75 miles

not sure about the other side of the lake, I got lost and ended up going like 7.3 miles

^ Yep. It's 3.5 miles of paved running trails but the actual loop is 2.75 according to the markers.

if you run the north side (flat part) around until you get to the intersection where the hills are and double back, it will be 3.5 miles, mostly flat

but the hills are the killer, so you're just cheating yourself

I run the hills first, then make a loop at the intersection, then finish the south side and cruise the north side back to the parking lot, that's ~5k

this is all measured with a GPS trainer
